Han Qing and Wen Rou presented their new show proposal, explaining it as a "dark fairy tale" theme where kindness has its boundaries and sometimes needs a touch of sharpness. They detailed the adjusted design drafts, with clothes and shoes still needing fine-tuning, and requested other departments to expedite the promotional copy and setting pictures. Su Ziguang was highly impressed, remarking on the efficiency and asking if they had worked through the night.

Han Qing responded that inspiration kept them going without sleep. Wen Rou, attributing the success to a good partner (Han Qing), expressed relief when Su Ziguang confirmed that not only would no manager be assigned to oversee her, but she would also receive additional investment. He shared his belief that strong married women can balance both career and family. Wen Yajun noted that Wen Rou's show, now postponed, would directly compete with Wanli's.

Wen Xin, however, arrogantly dismissed Polimoda as being on a different level. Her father observed that Wen Rou was rapidly catching up, stirring a sense of crisis in Wen Xin. Later, Lan approached Han Qing, theatrically suggesting they break up. He falsely claimed Wen Rou had repeatedly hinted that he was too young and not good enough for Han Qing, and that he was dragging her down. Han Qing, distressed, tried to assure him Wen Rou didn't mean that.

Lan continued to lament his perceived uselessness, especially regarding the opening model position, claiming he felt like a "clown" for causing trouble with his good intentions. Han Qing, still under his influence, comforted him, emphasizing that she understood his good intentions and pleaded with him not to end their relationship over such a trivial matter. She even offered a post-show vacation. Lan eventually relented, promising to always stand by Han Qing in any conflict with her friends.

Lan then appeared at the show venue, much to Wen Rou’s annoyance. Wen Rou sharply reprimanded him for making Han Qing work exhaustively for two days and nights. Lan defensively blamed "that woman" who leaked the video and insisted he was there to care for Han Qing.

Wen Rou scoffed, pointing out his late arrival and reminding him that both he and the other person were legally liable for the video, adding that she only refrained from pressing charges for Han Qing's sake. She questioned why Han Qing should always bear the consequences of his actions. Lan, playing the victim again, suggested he and Han Qing break up so she wouldn't quarrel with her friend. Wen Rou saw through his act, calling it pathetic.

Han Qing, torn between them, finally burst out, telling Wen Rou to stop interfering. She admitted her own "love-struck brain" and her emotional naiveté compared to Wen Rou, but asserted her right to manage her own relationships. She declared she could no longer endure the dilemma. She announced her resignation from the show, forfeiting all design copyrights, dividends, and her position, claiming she was unfit to be a partner.

Wen Rou called out her name in shock as Han Qing walked away. Lan, however, was not grateful. He confronted Han Qing, complaining that her quitting meant he couldn't be a model. Han Qing explained she quit for his sake, but Lan retorted that he never asked her to. When Han Qing offered to speak with Wen Rou again, Lan dismissed it, stating it was too late and inexplicable why Han Qing would make such a move.

Han Qing was left bewildered by his utter lack of gratitude and selfish focus on his own modeling prospects. Wen Rou expressed her frustration to Shan Liang, lamenting her inability to intervene in Han Qing’s love life while knowing Lan was exploiting her. She worried that Han Qing would never return to the show, feeling lost without her. Shan Liang offered his support, but Wen Rou, in a moment of playful despair, suggested he just "bully" her instead.

That evening, Lan was engrossed in video games at home, ignoring Han Qing who was trying to work. When she asked him to lower his voice, he retorted that if she hadn't impulsively quit the show, he wouldn't have nothing better to do. Just then, Han Qing received a text from Wen Rou, claiming Shan Liang was preventing her from holding the show and asking for help.

This was a pre-arranged plan between Wen Rou and Shan Liang to open Han Qing’s eyes to Lan's true nature and facilitate reconciliation. Han Qing rushed to the show. Shan Liang, struggling to deliver harsh lines to Wen Rou, tried to convey his scripted argument that Wen Rou, being pregnant, should prioritize her family, and that he would compel Su Ziguang to withdraw investment and terminate the show.

Wen Rou feigned agreement, playing along by saying Shan Liang was acting "for her good." Han Qing, hearing these lines, erupted, accusing Shan Liang of trying to control Wen Rou's career. She passionately argued that society demands women to be independent, men expect them to stay youthful, and families want them to be good wives and mothers, effectively turning them into pets. She warned that sacrificing her career would mean starting from scratch later.

She also questioned Shan Liang’s change in character. Sensing the forced nature of the argument, Han Qing soon realized it was an act. Wen Rou then confirmed the deception, explaining that the harsh words Han Qing had just spoken to Shan Liang perfectly mirrored Lan’s manipulative tactics. She pointed out that while Han Qing was anxious and sleepless from work, Lan was out with friends or playing games. She emphasized that genuine care involves action, not just words.

Wen Rou asserted that Lan didn't truly love Han Qing; he merely used her to elevate his own life, to assert power through her obedience, and to mask his incompetence with her failures. She apologized for the trick but urged Han Qing to seriously re-evaluate her relationship with Lan from a detached perspective. Han Qing, shaken, quietly stated that if Wen Rou was unfit to be a partner, then so was she.

Wen Rou pleaded with her, admitting she couldn't manage without her and promising to wait, certain Han Qing would eventually return. Back home, Lan still lay on the sofa playing games. He casually invited Han Qing to dinner with his friends. At the restaurant, Lan's friends praised him, excited about his upcoming modeling career, assuming Han Qing was paying for the meal, which Lan tacitly allowed.

Remembering Wen Rou's words, Han Qing made a toast, acknowledging Lan's friends' support "when he’s broken in love," openly hinting at their impending breakup. Shocked, Lan tried to dismiss it as a joke, but Han Qing was resolute. She calmly ended their relationship, stating they were only tormenting each other. Lan protested, claiming he had spent almost all his money on her and worked hard for her sake.

Han Qing coolly countered that he spent his money expecting her to spend much more, and his "hard work" was merely an act to gain her pity and manipulate Wen Rou. She then told his friends to enjoy the food, as Lan wouldn't be treating them again. Before leaving, she made Lan strip off the expensive clothes she had bought him, noting with satisfaction that she'd "fortunately bought a one-size-fits-all."

Meanwhile, Wen Xin and Su Ziguang went for a walk, playfully teasing each other about their professions. They encountered two alpacas, with Su Ziguang initially wary due to his expensive clothes and online rumors about alpacas spitting and biting. Wen Xin encouraged him, reassuring him they were harmless, and they eventually shared a tender moment petting the animals. Wen Xin then asked Su Ziguang for the truth about his past relationship with Wen Rou.

He candidly admitted they only had a few casual meals and never truly dated. Su Ziguang, in turn, asked Wen Xin about her strained relationship with Wen Rou. Wen Xin revealed that their difficult dynamic was a long-standing habit. Wen Rou and her mother had "suddenly" entered her life, and her father, Wen Yajun, was always poor at communication. Coupled with childhood fairy tales depicting evil stepmothers and stepsisters, she had developed a deep resentment.

However, she confessed that after all these years, neither Wen Rou nor her mother had ever actually harmed her, and she acknowledged her own part in their difficult relationship. Han Qing returned to Polimoda, and she and Wen Rou reconciled. One day, at the office, Wen Rou suddenly felt a stomachache. Shan Liang and Han Qing anxiously rushed her to the hospital. While waiting, Han Qing surprisingly encountered Zhong Yu, who explained he regularly volunteered there on weekends.

To Wen Rou's shock, the doctor informed her that she was not pregnant; her symptoms were merely ordinary period abdominal pain and her "pregnant belly" was from overeating. Distraught, Wen Rou confided in Han Qing, unable to accept the misunderstanding. She expressed her fear of telling Shan Liang, who had been so worried and loving, certain he would believe she had deliberately used a fake pregnancy to force reconciliation. She insisted she truly had not intended to deceive him.

Han Qing, after a moment of reflection, compared marriage to building blocks, cautioning that lies, once exposed, would cause trust and affection to crumble. Shan Liang continued to dote on Wen Rou, bringing her special meals and caring for her. His father also visited, overjoyed by the news of a grandchild and bringing numerous gifts, completely unaware of the truth. That night, as Shan Liang read a Pinocchio story, Wen Rou felt her "nose grow," symbolizing her deepening guilt.

When Shan Liang, concerned about the baby's stability in the first trimester, suggested he move to the guest room, Wen Rou was left frustrated, realizing this would prevent any chance of actually conceiving. She worried about future accusations of "malicious fake pregnancy" and imagined herself punished by an "emperor." When Han Qing asked if she was still thinking about Lan, Wen Rou vehemently denied it, claiming her thoughts were on Zhong Yu.

Han Qing informed Wen Rou about her continued encounters with Zhong Yu, noting that he had formally invited her out, though it had been almost 24 hours without a follow-up. Soon after, Zhong Yu messaged her, inviting her to an Italian restaurant within a hotel. Han Qing, initially wary of the hotel location, quickly clarified it was for dinner at the restaurant. They went and happily made pizza together.

Later, while walking, Zhong Yu playfully remarked on Han Qing always walking behind him. Han Qing admitted she feared he might "disappear suddenly" like a past friend had after college. Zhong Yu reassured her he wouldn't go anywhere. As the show preparations continued, Wen Rou learned that the model Liu Meng had declined to participate, making excuses. Other models also refused due to the brand's low recognition and the small scale of the show.

Facing a dilemma, Wen Rou suggested finding a "newbie" as the opening model. Han Qing apologized for being preoccupied with dating and leaving Wen Rou with all the work. Wen Rou asked about her dates with Zhong Yu, and Han Qing expressed confusion about his physical distance, describing him as "bouncing away" as if she had an infectious disease. Wen Rou, ever practical, suggested Han Qing invite Zhong Yu to join them, implying he could help with the show and perhaps "move things along" in their relationship.
