As Jian Jian arrived, Yu tried to introduce him to her "colleagues and clients," but the plan quickly unraveled. The men exposed Yu's deception, revealing how she had given each of them different birth dates and pretended to favor different gifts.
One man mentioned buying her a purse based on her social media post, while another said she hinted at wanting a necklace, and yet another was told her birthday was in November, matching his zodiac sign. It became clear that Yu was manipulating them all. They accused her of "relationship fraud," demanding compensation.
Jian Jian was left heartbroken, realizing that after seven years of silently liking Yu, he was merely one of her "fish" in a vast pond of men she was using. Shan Liang saw him crying in the office and comforted him. Jian Jian recounted Yu's various deceptive tactics, like feigning sleep to lean on a man's shoulder or pretending to be drunk for physical contact.
Shan Liang reflected that while Wen Rou might sometimes play tricks, at least he was the only one in her heart. Shan Liang invited her to his hotel room. There, Wen Rou sincerely apologized for her past deceptions and hurting him. Shan Liang, still pretending to be unforgiving, challenged her to show her sincerity. Wen Rou promised never to trick him again and offered to treat him to dinner at his favorite Yujian restaurant, assuring him she would make a reservation immediately. Jian Jian helped Xiao Mei look for a new apartment.
Despite his sadness over Yu, Xiao Mei told him he wasn't foolish for loving so deeply and assured him that his dedication was admirable, proclaiming that he was a good person with a kind temperament. She jokingly asked him to help her move that night. Later, Yu texted Jian Jian, asking to meet for a face-to-face apology, and he agreed, momentarily forgetting his promise to Xiao Mei.
Wen Rou also sent a message to Shan Liang, confirming her dinner reservation and stating she would wait for him at the restaurant, regardless of whether he showed up. Coincidentally, both Wen Rou and Yu chose the same café, leading to an awkward silent encounter. Meanwhile, Xiao Mei started moving her belongings alone.
Jian Jian, having a change of heart, rushed to help her, apologizing for almost standing her up and promising to treat her to dinner after, specifically mentioning hot pot or river snails rice noodles. As the man became aggressive and called her names, Wen Rou intervened, asserting that a man should not treat a woman that way, and was pushed aside. Yu, seemingly shocked, quickly ran away. Jian Jian, having dinner with Xiao Mei, ignored Yu's subsequent messages for help, which detailed being harassed by a "creepy middle-aged man." Yu, however, was unfazed and quickly began fishing in another pond. Shan Liang arrived at the café to find Wen Rou gone.
A staff member explained the commotion, showing him a video of Wen Rou intervening to help Yu, then being pushed, and confirmed she had been sent home. Shan Liang was touched by Wen Rou's selfless act for a stranger. Rushing home, Shan Liang found Wen Rou looking dazed. She revealed she had tested positive on a pregnancy test, having realized her period was late. Overjoyed, Shan Liang embraced her, declaring he was going to be a father.
He tenderly covered her with a blanket and confessed his own shortcomings, admitting he hadn't fully understood her or given her enough security. He recognized that her past hurts had led her to trust only herself, and he also bore responsibility for the rift between them.
Shan Liang expressed his belief that Wen Rou truly loved him for who he was, not for his external circumstances, and promised a future free of lies and deception, stating that they were destined to overcome all obstacles together. Wen Rou, deeply moved, promised to reciprocate and make amends. Han Qing was delighted by Wen Rou's pregnancy and the happy ending to their story.
Wen Rou, determined to be a better person, resolved to cherish her hard-won happiness and never lie to Shan Liang again. They moved forward with plans for a fashion show, interviewing models. Wen Rou ambitiously decided to invite top model Liu Meng as the opening guest, hoping to elevate their brand. Shan Liang, blissfully happy, overlooked minor mistakes from his employees.
A male model named Lan, though late for his interview, impressed Han Qing, who decided to give him a chance to expand the market for their unisex shoes. After work, Lan offered to take a stressed Han Qing on a motorcycle ride to help her relax, a novel experience for her. Shan Liang became an extremely attentive and overprotective father-to-be. He delved into pregnancy books and online courses, constantly monitoring Wen Rou's health and dictating her diet.
He bought a plethora of baby items, happily announcing Wen Rou's pregnancy to everyone they encountered. Wen Rou, now clad in oversized clothes chosen by Shan Liang, jokingly referred to her new look as the "seriously protected by husband in every aspect" style. Han Qing and Lan's relationship blossomed rapidly, much to Wen Rou's surprise.
Despite their quick progression, Lan, six years younger than Han Qing, had different habits that caused minor friction, such as his love for horror movies that kept Han Qing awake at night, making her feel tired.
Shan Liang, going to extreme lengths to ensure Wen Rou's health and prevent her from leaving the house, bought a second refrigerator filled with organic ingredients, creating a "one-stop shop" for healthy meals, desserts, and even an in-home entertainment setup, citing unhealthy external options and poor ventilation. Wen Rou, however, found the nutritious, bland meals and herbal tonics unbearable, feeling constantly stuffed and even nauseous.
When Han Qing visited, fresh from a hyaluronic acid treatment and seeking skin-care product advice, Shan Liang, considering Wen Rou's cosmetics and beauty devices unsafe during pregnancy, generously gave all of them to Han Qing. Wen Rou, though silently fuming at the loss of her beloved makeup, had to concede to Shan Liang's strict regime.
