Ji Nian rushed home, only to encounter Hu Li who was preparing to leave with Bai Dongchen. Hu Li subtly hoped for Ji Nian to ask him to stay, but Ji Nian, feigning indifference, stated they were not meant to be together and should go their separate ways. Disappointed, Hu Li left with Bai Dongchen. Alone, Ji Nian tried to mask her sadness by frantically eating snacks, declaring that the entire house and all the treats were now hers.

She packed all of Hu Li's belongings and placed them in the yard. Meanwhile, Bai Dongchen informed Hu Li that Zhou Hongwei was the one who wanted him dead. Hu Li was shocked and disbelieving, unable to reconcile this with Zhou Hongwei's support of Bai Dongchen. Hu Li questioned Bai Dongchen about his connection to Yang Zhe and why he kept Hu Li's survival a secret from Zhou Hongwei.

Bai Dongchen admitted he didn't want Hu Li to return to the spotlight, as the company was currently promoting him. Hu Li, realizing Bai Dongchen's prior "accidental" encounters were deliberate, then learned from Bai Dongchen that Yang Zhe's plans had changed, and he needed to return to Ji Nian's house. However, Hu Li, still prideful, insisted he would only go back if Ji Nian begged him, certain she would call him.

Ji Nian, at the cafe, was making cakes for a customer, appearing lost in thought. Luo Li, noticing her distress, asked if she had reconciled with Shi Tou (Hu Li's nickname). Ji Nian stated he had left and would not return, but quickly insisted she was happy to be rid of the trouble. She denied any sadness, claiming she was relieved. Hu Li, waiting for Ji Nian to contact him, instructed Fatty via phone to monitor her.

Fatty visited the cafe and reported to Hu Li (also via phone) that Ji Nian seemed perfectly fine, thriving with her business and happy every day. Fatty later mistakenly believed a male client, who was asking Ji Nian to hide a ring in a cake for his girlfriend's proposal, was Ji Nian's suitor proposing to her. Fatty, seeing the ring, urgently informed Hu Li (via phone) that Ji Nian had accepted a ring from an admirer.

This news caused Hu Li to panic, further convinced that Ji Nian was moving on quickly. Frustrated, Hu Li called Ji Nian, accusing her of being happy he left and immediately seeking a new partner. Ji Nian, annoyed by his childishness, reminded him that he was the one who ended their connection. Hu Li, in a fit of pique, demanded she make one hundred cakes for him that night, threatening a bad review if she failed.

Ji Nian defiantly refused his order and hung up. Unable to reach Ji Nian, Hu Li was advised by Bai Dongchen to confront her in person. Meanwhile, Ji Nian drowned her sorrows in alcohol with Luo Li, repeatedly asserting her happiness and freedom, despite Luo Li's concern that she seemed to be crying, not smiling.

Fatty, still observing, corroborated to Hu Li (via phone) that Ji Nian and Luo Li were happily enjoying fried food, reinforcing Hu Li's misconception that Ji Nian was celebrating his absence. Later, a very drunk Ji Nian, after Luo Li had left, stumbled home, talking to herself and apologizing to Hu Li's motorcycle for her past harshness.

She tearfully confessed her guilt for being "bad," for loving money, being stingy, lying, and spitting shells everywhere, lamenting that "he" (Hu Li) wouldn't come back. Hu Li, who had been secretly following and watching over her, heard her words. When she mistook him for a stranger, complimenting his looks while complaining about "him" (Hu Li) being fierce, he revealed himself, calling her "Man Tou" and saying, "I'm back."

Ji Nian, recognizing him through her drunken haze, was momentarily relieved but then accused him of returning to take his belongings, fearing she would be left with nothing. Hu Li tenderly reassured her that he wouldn't take anything and, more importantly, "I will not leave you anymore." Ji Nian, overcome with emotion, clung to him, making him promise repeatedly not to leave. Hu Li then carried the tearful, sleeping Ji Nian to bed.

The next morning, Ji Nian woke up, confused, initially thinking it was a dream. Hu Li called her for breakfast from the kitchen, confirming his presence. He gently chided her for drinking and getting drunk in his absence. Hu Li then sincerely apologized to Ji Nian for making her feel troubled and angry, admitting his difficulty in accepting the circumstances. Ji Nian, in turn, apologized for her deceptions, including faking her leg injury and mischaracterizing him.

Hu Li, with a playful smile, challenged her, "Since you've lied to me, do you want to continue to lie to me?" They shared a moment of understanding and reconciliation. Ji Nian then jokingly complained about him finishing her favorite jam. Hu Li offered to buy more. Ji Nian, looking at him meaningfully, then presented him with the empty jam jar and declared, "I'll return myself to you." Hu Li gently acknowledged her words, implicitly taking on the responsibility, and they embraced and shared a loving kiss.
