Nangong Liuli purposely kept Su Yanxi working late in the office. Su Yanxi, unaware of Nangong Liuli's intentions, only saw her dedication to work. While they were working overtime, Nangong Liuli received a call from Gu Xicheng. She deliberately called out "Xicheng" affectionately in front of Su Yanxi to make her feel uneasy.
During the call, Nangong Liuli falsely claimed that Su Yanxi had been careless and almost caused a problem, prompting Gu Xicheng to ask Nangong Liuli to help Su Yanxi more. Su Yanxi soon received a text from Gu Xicheng, indicating it was time to leave. Nangong Liuli then told Su Yanxi to go home, stating she would finish the remaining work herself.
Su Yanxi felt a pang of guilt, as it was her own work, yet Nangong Liuli was staying late for it. As Su Yanxi left, Nangong Liuli took over her computer, a strange smile playing on her lips. Later, Gu Xicheng picked Su Yanxi up to take her home. Su Yanxi expressed her wish that Gu Xicheng would not blindly approve the R&D department's work just because of her. She also wondered how he knew she was still working overtime.
Gu Xicheng casually mentioned Nangong Liuli, which made Su Yanxi feel deeply upset. She then declared that since she was in the R&D Department, she would do her part to the best of her ability and urged him not to be lenient just because she created the design. During a company meeting, Nangong Liuli presented the R&D department's designs, receiving widespread approval, especially for the "Cat's Eye and Holy Pearl" design which cleverly incorporated Chinese elements.
Nangong Liuli, however, claimed all the designs as her own and her team's hard work, stating they pulled several all-nighters. Su Yanxi felt deeply wronged. After the meeting, she confronted Nangong Liuli, asking why she hadn't credited her for the "Cat's Eye and Holy Pearl" design.
Nangong Liuli retorted, suggesting Su Yanxi lacked team spirit, implying all designs were a collective effort from the R&D department and that Su Yanxi shouldn't expect special treatment due to her perceived closeness to Gu Xicheng. Su Yanxi denied any closeness with Gu Xicheng. At that very moment, Gu Xicheng overheard their conversation. Feeling hurt, he instructed them not to discuss private matters at the company, cutting Su Yanxi off when she tried to explain.
Nangong Liuli then dismissively told Su Yanxi that the president wouldn't care who created the design. Feeling unfairly treated, Su Yanxi asked Nangong Liuli for a half-day leave, citing "liver pain." Nangong Liuli granted it. Su Yanxi then made a phone call, addressing the person on the other end as He Jinxi.
Su Yanxi inquired about their mother's condition and the situation with the Gu family, urging He Jinxi not to expose herself in front of Gu Xicheng and asking when she would return. He Jinxi then showed Su Yanxi her mother lying in a hospital bed before abruptly ending the call. Seeing Su Yanxi distraught, Fu Boya took her to the Happy Club. There, Su Yanxi channeled her anger, thinking of Gu Xicheng's words and shouting "Gu Xicheng, go to hell!"

Fu Boya was still contemplating where to eat dinner when Nangong Liuli offered a suggestion for a restaurant.
