Time Teaches Me to Love Episode 12 Recap
> Time Teaches Me to Love Recap
Upon seeing Lin Lu leave, Shi Liansen rushed to explain himself. Lin Lu, still upset, told him that she could manage on her own. When she asked about her sleeping bag, Shi Liansen admitted he had thrown it away and dismissively told her to sleep "there." Lin Lu, angered by his response and her earlier distress, called him a "bastard" and declared she would never speak to him again.
Later, Shi Liansen confronted Liang Zhi, ostensibly to test if he was involved in the counterfeit incident, though he also stated he did not want to upset his girlfriend. Liang Zhi, angry that Shi Liansen was using his position for personal gain, retorted that he would leave, but warned Shi Liansen not to be a hypocrite to Lin Lu. He threatened to haunt Shi Liansen if he used Lin Lu again for his own purposes.
Soon after, Shi Liansen instructed his assistant, Maggie, to release evidence against Sally online to highlight the conflict between Huanzhen and Sally, but specifically told her not to involve Liang Zhi. Meanwhile, Liang Zhi met with his father, President Li. Liang Zhi informed his father that Huanzhen was suffering and likely heading towards bankruptcy. His father, seemingly already aware, expressed confidence that Liang Zhi would have no choice but to come to him.
Liang Zhi, having been framed by his father in the counterfeit scandal, accepted an offer to join Sally, stating his intention to develop Sally and destroy Huanzhen, a goal his father shared. Lin Lu waited anxiously for Shi Liansen to return home, debating whether to go to bed or continue waiting, reminding herself that she was still angry with him.
Earlier, Fang Qiao confessed to Yan Zichen that she felt uncomfortable with his constant attention and realized she had been mean to him over the years, causing him to remain single. She told him she was leaving, but Yan Zichen insisted he would follow her wherever she went, showing his deep affection. Later, Yan Zichen was seen drinking heavily, lamenting Fang Qiao's departure.
He then attempted to formally propose to Fang Qiao with flowers but was told by his aunt that she had already gone abroad. Devastated, he confessed his long-standing love for her, spanning over two decades. At work, Lin Lu was shocked to learn from Cindy that Liang Zhi had been fired. She sought out Liang Zhi, who downplayed the news, claiming he had already intended to resign.
He reassured her, telling her not to overthink it and emphasizing that Shi Liansen would protect her at Huanzhen. He also suggested she go home and stay for several days, mentioning that Shen Jing was always talking about her. Convinced that Shi Liansen was behind Liang Zhi's firing, Lin Lu angrily confronted him, accusing him of using "company decisions" as an excuse.
She argued that if the counterfeit scandal was the reason, she, too, was responsible, and questioned why only Liang Zhi was fired. Shi Liansen dismissed her concerns, saying she believed in Liang Zhi too much and didn't understand. Lin Lu called him cold-blooded, selfish, and arrogant, uncaring of others' feelings, and declared they lived in different worlds. Shi Liansen, losing his patience, ordered her to leave.
Shortly after, Shen Jing confronted Lin Lu, criticizing her for involving Liang Zhi while dating the President. Shen Jing accused Lin Lu of "two-timing" and being greedy, wanting both Shi Liansen and Liang Zhi. Lin Lu denied having a relationship with Shi Liansen and, in her defense, revealed that their relationship was purely contractual. Liang Zhi, who was nearby, overheard this confession.
Shen Jing, feeling betrayed by Lin Lu's perceived deception over the years, angrily told Lin Lu never to contact her again. Later, Yan Zichen, devastated by Fang Qiao's departure abroad, visited Shi Liansen. He confronted Shi Liansen about Fang Qiao leaving without telling him where she went. Yan Zichen accused Shi Liansen of indifference, highlighting how much Fang Qiao had sacrificed and changed for him, pretending to like things she disliked and enduring hardships, all because she liked Shi Liansen.
He asked if Shi Liansen loved Lin Lu, but Shi Liansen insisted it was different and not to involve Lin Lu. Yan Zichen expressed deep disappointment in Shi Liansen, believing he did not understand love. Lin Lu, having just returned, overheard this entire conversation. Deeply affected by Yan Zichen's words and the recent events, Lin Lu confronted Shi Liansen. She articulated that they were like two parallel lines that only intersected because of their contract.
She stated that too many people around them had been hurt, and it was better for them to return to their separate lives. She then proposed terminating their contract. Shi Liansen appeared stunned and dejected. Shi Liansen later reflected on his actions, acknowledging that he had taken advantage of Lin Lu, putting her in the public eye and using her to create hype to help Huanzhen navigate its crisis.
Meanwhile, Liang Zhi made a heartfelt attempt to win Lin Lu over. When Lin Lu mused about romantic ideals like proposals by the Aegean Sea, finishing a marathon, or receiving 999 roses, Liang Zhi enthusiastically offered to make them happen. When Lin Lu clarified her actual romantic ideal was simpler – someone leaving her the last piece of fried chicken – Liang Zhi quickly agreed to that too.
He confessed his feelings, repeatedly telling her "I like you" and asking her to be his girlfriend. Lin Lu, however, said she needed three days to think and would agree if he passed her test. In a final encounter, Lin Lu confronted Shi Liansen, who seemed to be pondering whether they could be together again. Lin Lu responded directly, "Shi Liansen, when have we been together? I don’t want you now."
