Take My Brother Away Episode 30 (Ending) Recap
> Take My Brother Away Recap
After Shi Fen is in a car accident and hospitalized in critical condition, Wan Sui sees the news on TV and bursts into tears. The next morning, Shi Miao wakes up and habitually calls for Shi Fen to make breakfast, only to remember he has left.
Seeing two missed calls from him, she hesitantly calls Wan Xing for information, but he hangs up on her harshly, believing it's better for her to live with anger than guilt if Shi Fen dies. Alone, Shi Miao tries to cook, but she is haunted by visions of Shi Fen guiding her and ends up burning the food. Every face she sees on television morphs into her brother's. Distressed by these hallucinations, she goes to a psychologist's office.
Wan Xing, wanting to keep the accident a secret, has sent Miao Miaomiao to follow her. When Shi Miao spots her, Miao Miaomiao pretends she is also there for an appointment. In the waiting room, they find a helmet which Miao Miaomiao claims can erase memories. Shi Miao, desperate to stop missing her brother, decides to use it to erase him from her mind. However, as she relives her memories, the bad ones give way to good ones.
Realizing that deleting these memories would erase any trace of her ever being loved, she breaks down in tears and removes the helmet. A struggle ensues when Miao Miaomiao insists she go through with it, but a staff member reveals the device is just a massage helmet for preventing hair loss. Outside, Miao Miaomiao decides to tell the truth, but Zhen Kaixin rushes out to stop her.
They argue, and Miao Miaomiao finally blurts out that Shi Fen is in the hospital after a car accident. Shi Miao’s legs buckle before she runs off, repeating that she was wrong. Wan Xing arrives in a luxury car to drive them, revealing his family's immense wealth, and blames Shi Miao for causing the accident by driving Shi Fen away. At the hospital, they are barred from the operating room.
Devastated, Shi Miao climbs onto a table and tearfully shouts at the closed doors, recounting all the little things her brother meant to her. Her outburst awakens the patient, and the doctor allows her inside, only for everyone to realize it's a case of mistaken identity; the patient is a woman named Shi Fen. The staff speculates that the Shi Fen she knows merely fainted from shock at the accident scene and was taken away quickly.
The group leaves the hospital, assuming Shi Fen is now on a plane to America. As a plane flies overhead, everyone waves goodbye, but Shi Miao weeps silently. The pain of his absence becomes overwhelming, and she finally admits she is most afraid of losing him. When she arrives home, she finds Shi Fen sitting on the sofa. Believing it's another hallucination, she cautiously pokes and pinches him until his reactions prove he is real.
Her relief turns into heartbreaking sobs. Shi Fen explains he is not going to America. To prove he’s real, he opens his arms for her to throw him, but she instead rushes forward and hugs him tightly. He holds his sister as she cries, and since she refuses to let go, he carries her out to get dinner. Shi Fen's return sends ripples through their school.
The dean and teachers hold a three-day meeting, worried his presence will lower the school's average score by five percent. Shi Miao, however, is so happy she is named "Smiling Service Star of the Month." After learning of Wan Sui's wealth, Shi Fen fruitlessly searches the streets for the gold bars he'd been given. Zhen Kaixin becomes the MVP again and starts acting like a star with Shi Fen as his "agent."
You Le wears a red wig to school to cope with exam stress, Cheng Haonan has a mid-life crisis upon turning eighteen, and Shi Fen tricks Hao Ren into thinking he can earn extra exam points by jumping rope 3,000 times, leaving him with a limp. The school doctor is also filled with joy when her love, Wan Yi, finally returns. At Wan Yi's wedding, all the friends are dressed up and rehearsing a dance.
Shi Fen reflects on meeting Shi Miao as a baby, watching her grow from his shadow into his best friend. He remembers tearing up his plane ticket and refusing a new life because of her, wishing he had been able to tell her, "Of course I'll always come back. I will always come back for you."
