Early in the morning, Shi Fen frantically calls Miao Miaomiao, looking for his sister, Shi Miao. He learns from a classmate that Shi Miao had announced she was transferring schools and would never return. His friends soon discover she has deleted many of them as contacts. The reason for her disappearance traces back to a school awards ceremony.
Shi Miao was supposed to give a speech, but she was publicly humiliated to learn her award was for being an "Outstanding Impoverished Student." A teacher insisted she accept it, and feeling mocked by the audience, Shi Miao faked a faint to escape the stage. The school doctor later confirms that Shi Miao confessed to faking her faint and was deeply hurt by the "impoverished" label.
In his search, Shi Fen video calls his wealthy friend Wan Sui, who lies about working at a KTV to hide his mansion. Wan Sui suggests contacting the school doctor, who, caught in the middle of a blind date, is initially evasive. With a suggestion from Wan Sui's brother, Wan Xing, Shi Fen decides to use phone location tracking to find his sister. The tracker eventually shows Shi Miao heading toward a specific location.
Shi Fen's father appears and offers to drive him. During the ride, Shi Fen admits he was the one who secretly signed them up for the financial aid that led to the award. Their panic escalates when Shi Fen sees Shi Miao posted a picture of their father's sleeping pills online, making him fear she is suicidal.
They race to the location, but instead of finding Shi Miao, they discover her phone had been stolen, and they were tracking the thief. A dejected Shi Fen returns home to find the lights on. Shi Miao is back, but she has transformed, wearing a cosplay outfit and holding a new phone. Before he can confront her, she declares she wants nothing to do with him and slams her bedroom door. Shi Fen then discovers she has spent their entire saved-up travel fund, deliberately hurting him in retaliation for the public humiliation he caused.
