On his first day as class president, Zhen Kaixin wakes up the dorm for a training run. In the girls' washroom, Shi Miao feels out of place as other girls discuss cosmetics. When she drops her bar of soap, Wang Keke mocks her for using it to wash her face, causing Shi Miao to leave in embarrassment.
During the long-distance run, Zhen Kaixin discovers that Shi Fen and Wan Sui are cheating by carrying light mattress rolls instead of their heavy quilts. As president, he forces them to carry the proper quilts, which Shi Fen sees as a betrayal. To get out of the run, Shi Fen and Wan Sui pretend to be "killed in action," but as a result, their lunch is forfeited. Meanwhile, Wan Xing collapses from heatstroke.
His brother, Wan Sui, learns of this from Shi Miao and gets medicine and a pear from the school medic. In the dorm, he finds another student, He Ermeng, and gives him the pear. When Wan Xing arrives, he drinks five bottles of the heatstroke medicine, which causes him to behave erratically. He first dances wildly with He Ermeng, then breaks down crying for Zhen Kaixin, pointing out his loneliness.
This prompts him to introduce Zhen Kaixin to Hao Ren, and the two quickly become good friends. Still under the medicine's influence, Wan Xing confronts Wan Sui about his relationship with Cheng Haonan, leading them to form a performance duo. He then finds Shi Miao crying and psychoanalyzes her loneliness and inability to make female friends, which makes her cry harder. The school doctor comforts Shi Miao with a warm, motherly hug that deeply affects her.
Finally, Shi Fen finds Wan Xing, gives him a sobering-up soup in the kitchen, and brings him back to his senses. Mortified by his actions, Wan Xing sleeps for two days. While he is asleep, Cheng Haonan and Wan Sui practice their performance. Wan Sui overcomes his stage fright and sings powerfully, impressing the other students. Wang Keke, who is live-streaming nearby, tries to feature them, but they insult her, humiliating her in front of her online followers.
After waking up, Wan Xing is searching for a phone signal when he sees Shi Fen and feels a strange connection, noticing what looks like a glowing aura around him. Shi Fen helps him find a signal. Following this, Wan Xing begins to appreciate ordinary life and feels inexplicably drawn to Shi Fen. Later, Wan Sui mentions that Shi Fen has a secret. Unable to sleep due to curiosity, Wan Xing pesters his brother until Wan Sui reveals that Shi Fen is afraid of the dark.
