Sweet Tai Chi Episode 4 Recap
> Sweet Tai Chi Recap
Wei Chu approached Feng Piaopiao, observing that Chen Bing and Yang Ningxue were likely watching them. He proposed a plan: he would intentionally trip her, and she should feign weakness, holding his hand, to dispel their suspicions. He assured her he would ensure she didn’t get hurt and stressed the importance of appearing genuinely frail. However, before Wei Chu could execute his plan, a senior schoolmate from the department of painting and calligraphy, driven by jealousy, tripped Feng Piaopiao.
Feng Piaopiao fell unexpectedly, her mind racing with confusion as the events unfolded differently than planned. Wei Chu, startled by the sudden interference, swiftly stepped forward, shielding her from the fall. She landed in his arms, her hand hurting from the impact. Wei Chu later teased her about "throwing herself into his arms," which greatly embarrassed her.
News of the incident quickly spread online, accompanied by photos of them and rumors that Feng Piaopiao had confessed to Wei Chu and been rejected. Back in her dorm, Feng Piaopiao fumed over Wei Chu's teasing and the uncontrollable public narrative. Her friend Xiao Xiao then informed her that the incident had propelled her to first place on the Lady Shang Xiang ranking with 498 votes, a position Feng Piaopiao declared she didn't care about.
Meanwhile, Chen Bing and Yang Ningxue observed Feng Piaopiao's apparent frailty, agreeing that she seemed unlikely to be the Tai Chi master they sought. Wei Chu later confirmed to Feng Piaopiao that their suspicions about her had been alleviated. However, other students like Jin Rou and Aijia suspected foul play in the voting, openly accusing Feng Piaopiao of seducing Wei Chu in public and calling her "shameless."
Later, while passing a campus bulletin board, Feng Piaopiao, still angry at Wei Chu, decided on a prank. She took out a pen and drew a large turtle on Wei Chu’s portrait, believing no one was around. Unbeknownst to her, Wei Chu was in the monitoring room, watching her every move on screen. Just as she finished, Jin Rou and Aijia approached.
Jin Rou reacted with outrage at the defaced portrait of "her Achu," but quickly composed herself when Wei Chu himself arrived. Wei Chu, to their surprise, complimented the drawing, saying it was "not bad." He then subtly dismissed Jin Rou and Aijia before calling out Feng Piaopiao from her hiding spot behind the bulletin board, remarking that he had "seen many pillars with legs" beneath them.
Feng Piaopiao tried to explain it away with a convoluted story about sudden artistic inspiration and face blindness. Wei Chu merely smiled, advised her to observe her surroundings more carefully next time she planned mischief, tore down the poster, and walked away. Wei Chu's investigation using surveillance footage revealed that the person who poisoned Bai Haiyang was from the boxing Department.
He confronted Tan Lin and other members of the boxing Department, presenting clear video evidence showing two of their members, Liu Rusong and Li Wenbo, adding powder to Bai Haiyang's meal. When Tan Lin demanded to know Wei Chu’s intentions, Wei Chu stated that he would ask the principal for leniency if they promised to cease bothering Bai Haiyang and the Tai Chi system.
The principal, having reviewed the surveillance, issued a decision: Liu Rusong and Li Wenbo were placed on probation, and he urged all students to foster good relationships. Shortly after being discharged from the hospital, Bai Haiyang went to find Wei Chu, thanking him for his help and expressing a desire to fight alongside him once more, to collectively promote Tai Chi.
This rekindled Wei Chu’s memories of a year and a half ago, when he, Bai Haiyang, Yang Ningxue, and Chen Bing were ambushed by Fangji. Though Wei Chu defeated Fangji, he was struck by the insidious eight Qi Palm, which resulted in the loss of his martial arts abilities. Doctor Chen later confirmed that Wei Chu's physical condition had barely improved since his last treatment, attributing his prolonged state to constant worry over the Tai Chi system.
Wei Chu, however, assured Doctor Chen that he had found a new candidate, and everything would soon be back on track, allowing him to worry less. Doctor Chen expressed his hope that this would indeed be the case. Later, as Feng Piaopiao walked, Wei Chu stopped her to point out her untied shoelace. Annoyed, she asked why he cared, to which he responded that "caring for the old, weak, sick, and disabled is a basic human principle."
This further enraged her, causing her to accidentally kick off a shoe. In the library, Feng Piaopiao overheard Chen Bing and Yang Ningxue addressing Wei Chu as "Senior schoolmate." She immediately suspected that Wei Chu possessed martial arts skills, and likely superior ones, given their respect. She confronted him, demanding the true meaning of "Senior schoolmate." Wei Chu tried to deflect, but Feng Piaopiao pressed him, recalling his earlier "throwing herself into his arms" comment and the online rumors.
She also pointed out how she consistently stumbled around him, then quickly claimed it was due to her underdeveloped cerebellum, not his fault, before accusing him of lying about his martial arts abilities. To test him, Feng Piaopiao challenged Wei Chu to a duel. He attempted to avoid fighting, but as he descended the stairs, Feng Piaopiao delivered a kick, sending him tumbling down and fracturing his kneecap.
Filled with guilt, Feng Piaopiao helped Wei Chu to his private physician, Doctor Chen. Doctor Chen diagnosed a kneecap fracture, estimating a recovery period of at least a year and a half. Noting that this was the first time Wei Chu had brought a girl to him, Doctor Chen subtly emphasized Wei Chu's solitary living arrangements and the difficulties he would face without care, encouraging Feng Piaopiao to take responsibility.
Overwhelmed by guilt, Feng Piaopiao readily promised to take full responsibility. Wei Chu then asked her to add him as a friend for convenience. Doctor Chen then listed Wei Chu's peculiar habits and preferences for Feng Piaopiao: he had extreme cleanliness and obsessive-compulsive tendencies, requiring his home to be spotless, items perfectly arranged, and clothes ironed and folded into squares. He disliked overly ornate things, only ate pears, and abhorred cilantro, garlic, oil, spicy food, and animal offal.
Doctor Chen advised Feng Piaopiao that she would have to be very accommodating. Feng Piaopiao, although questioning the relevance of these details to his leg injury, reiterated her commitment to caring for him.
