Piaopiao found Wei Chu unconscious after his confrontation with the masked attacker and rushed him to Doctor Chen. She anxiously asked about his leg, and Doctor Chen assured her that his injured meridians were being treated, though he also asked her to fetch some medicine for "other injuries," using it as a pretext to speak with Wei Chu alone.

Once Piaopiao left, Doctor Chen chastised Wei Chu, reminding him of his past severe injury from the battle with Fang Ji, which had only recovered 60%. He then delivered the devastating news that Wei Chu’s left leg meridians were severely re-injured, undoing his previous recovery. The worst-case scenario was that he might never walk again. Wei Chu was visibly shattered by this revelation. Soon after, Bai Haiyang, Chen Bing, and Yang Ningxue arrived to check on Wei Chu.

Doctor Chen deferred to Wei Chu to explain his condition and then left them. Wei Chu downplayed the severity of his injury to them, but when Yang Ningxue angrily suggested that the eight Qimen were responsible and vowed to seek revenge, Wei Chu confirmed that the fighting style was indeed from the same person who attacked him previously.

He then revealed that he knew what the eight Qimen wanted, as he had seen their operatives near his villa, and assured his friends that he had already made arrangements. He asked them to leave so he could rest. Unconvinced, Bai Haiyang later spoke with Doctor Chen in private, who confirmed the grave news: Wei Chu's left leg meridians were badly damaged, undoing his previous recovery and leaving him with the possibility of never walking again.

Doctor Chen also explained that the rehabilitation process would be extremely long and painful. Piaopiao, returning with the medicine, overheard this heartbreaking conversation. Overcome with guilt, she blamed herself for Wei Chu's injury, believing he was protecting her, and cried. Doctor Chen tried to reassure her, explaining that Wei Chu could return home for recuperation and he would conduct regular follow-up visits. Piaopiao dedicated herself to caring for Wei Chu, trying various methods to lift his spirits.

She offered to play chess with him and brought him medicinal tonics. She earnestly told him she would be his "crutch," helping him with his rehabilitation every step of the way. However, Wei Chu, feeling like a "cripple" and not wanting to burden her, pretended he was tired and coldly pushed her away, telling her not to visit him anymore without a specific reason. Piaopiao was hurt but understood Wei Chu's deep emotional pain.

She resolved to help him regain his confidence. Back at her dorm, her friend Xiao Xiao noticed her despondent mood. Piaopiao confided that Wei Chu was injured and had pushed her away, and also mentioned his potential inability to walk. Xiao Xiao advised giving Wei Chu some space to cope. Meanwhile, Wei Chu was tormented by visions of Piaopiao's cheerful presence around his house, folding clothes, cleaning, and preparing food, highlighting his loneliness without her.

Later, Piaopiao overheard Chen Bing and Yang Ningxue discussing Wei Chu's inability to walk. She immediately called Wei Chu, asking if she could visit, but he abruptly hung up. Across town, Tan Lin received a report about Wei Chu's severe injury and was delighted, seeing it as a golden opportunity to abolish the Tai Chi system. He then met the masked attacker, the same one who injured Wei Chu, at the forest behind the mountain.

The masked figure presented Tan Lin with a "secret manual of Tai Chi from the four great families," claiming it was found at Wei Chu's home. The masked figure urged Tan Lin to master its essence quickly, promising clandestine assistance to crush the Tai Chi system. Tan Lin, though cautious, resented the masked figure's arrogant demeanor and secretly vowed to claim everything for himself one day.

News of Wei Chu's severe injury spread through the Tai Chi system, causing many students, who had joined to learn from Wei Chu, to become disheartened and apply for withdrawal. Chen Bing called Bai Haiyang, concerned that the system would be abolished if student numbers dropped below ten. Bai Haiyang rushed to the Tai Chi system to address the departing students.

Yang Ningxue tried to motivate them for the upcoming martial arts competition, but the students felt they lacked the skills of the "true Tai Chi heirs." Bai Haiyang, acknowledging their sadness, urged them to "cheer up" and reminded them that he was still there. He promised to ask his family to abolish the traditional "lineage restrictions" of Tai Chi, allowing him to teach them authentic Bai's Tai Chi.

He clarified that while core secrets remained protected, he would teach "broad-spectrum moves" adapted from the manual for physical fitness, a step towards spreading Tai Chi, which was also Wei Chu's long-held wish. Inspired by his words and commitment to preserve the Tai Chi system, the students agreed to stay. Piaopiao and Xiao Xiao arrived at the Tai Chi system, worried about its fate. Chen Bing assured Piaopiao that they would manage, as only the three of them would compete.

As Bai Haiyang, Chen Bing, and Yang Ningxue strategized their order of battle against other departments—Yang Ningxue against karate and judo, Chen Bing against wrestling, and Bai Haiyang against boxing—Piaopiao wondered if she should reveal her Tai Chi abilities. Xiao Xiao offered an extra box of fruit for Wei Chu, and Piaopiao eagerly took it, heading to his home.

She found Wei Chu, who had just finished a phone call with Bai Haiyang where he confirmed that the stolen fake Tai Chi manual was a ruse to mislead the eight Qimen, who were secretly instigating the inter-departmental challenges. Wei Chu assured Bai Haiyang he had a counter-plan. Piaopiao then entered Wei Chu's room and, after a moment of hesitation, declared her intention to transfer to the Tai Chi system.
