Six people arrived in Dunhuang, shaken by its magnificent scenery. While discussing excitedly, a child, Duobao, appeared, enthusiastically introducing the spirit of Dunhuang, his words flowing endlessly. Su Wuming praised his intelligence and wanted to give him gold as thanks, but Duobao refused it, saying he shouldn't accept payment for so little effort, and instead led everyone to tour the scenic spots. Duobao introduced himself, and everyone felt his innocence and enthusiasm.

After Duobao finished his explanation, he happily accepted the payment. Su Wuming praised the excellence of Tang Dynasty children, who were upright and awe-inspiring, making them admirable. After Duobao left, everyone was surprised to find that a portrait on the wall bore a striking resemblance to Duobao. Fei Jishi cleverly resolved the situation by introducing Lu Lingfeng and the others' identities. When the crowd heard they were disciples of Duke Di, they welcomed them respectfully, and they were treated with extra courtesy upon entering the city. Seeing this, Li Chi's mouth curled into a strange smile.

Inside the city, Cao Weng generously distributed alms, and the common people praised his good deeds in unison. Su Wuming observed Cao Weng's features and also determined him to be a benevolent person, silently approving in his heart. Cao Weng warmly invited everyone to his mansion, not only arranging wonderful music performances but also preparing a sumptuous family banquet. Ding Mao deliberately revealed the will information, and Li Chi went along with the flow, attempting to legitimately inherit the property by harming Cao Weng and live happily ever after with his wife. This scene happened to be witnessed by Lu Lingfeng passing by, and he promptly stopped Li Chi's wicked act.

Upon learning the truth, Cao Weng was furious; he could not accept the betrayal and deception from those around him. Just as he was considering how to punish them severely, Ding Mao burst in, panicked, claiming he was willing to bear all the blame, but more urgently, Duobao had been murdered. This news was like a bolt from the blue, leaving Cao Weng stunned, his eyes wide, unable to believe it.

His heart was filled with grief and anger, unable to accept that the innocent, kind child who was passionate about Dunhuang had died so unjustly. Duobao's death, like a sharp knife, deeply pained Cao Weng's heart, making him feel unprecedented despair and helplessness.
