Jiang Yuda recorded a video of himself, declaring his return to his homeland, the birthplace of Go, after conquering Europe as a Go prodigy. He boasted about his good looks and strength, announcing his challenge to all major Go dojos, starting with Jiuzhou Dojo. Upon arriving, he proudly stated his intention to challenge their dojo. When Xie Chang'an politely offered him fruit, a dojo member quipped that not everyone could handle Jiuzhou's fruit and might need the nutrition.

Jiang Yuda, undeterred, demanded to play against their strongest player in a series of ten games. Seeing his arrogance, Yao Ke stepped forward to play, but Senior Lan intervened, stating that it was a minor matter and she would handle him. Jiang Yuda, noting she was a young woman, offered her a three-stone handicap, which Senior Lan declined, proposing a best-of-three series instead. She swiftly defeated him three times. Overwhelmed and in tears, Jiang Yuda left.

A dojo member remarked that Senior Lan had even intentionally given him an opening in the last two games to prevent him from crying. Still, Jiang Yuda returned, insisting on becoming Senior Lan's apprentice. The dojo members had to physically remove him.

After being escorted out, Jiang Yuda lamented his fate, having lost three games in 25 minutes, been ejected twice in one day, had his credit card suspended by his father, and was left with only a Hang drum and one hundred yuan. Later that night, Cheng Liao brought her sister, Cheng Yi, wontons for supper, noticing a blister on her foot. Cheng Yi explained it was from an unexpected outdoor interview.

Cheng Liao then asked Cheng Yi why she had rejected Xu Chi. Cheng Yi clarified that she felt no romantic spark, only a fraternal bond, likening him to a brother. When Cheng Liao remarked that Xu Chi seemed like a good match, Cheng Yi playfully suggested Cheng Liao should date him instead, before quickly pivoting to say that Sheng Jingchu was a better fit for Cheng Liao.

Cheng Liao dropped the subject, then asked Cheng Yi not to mention her relationship with Sheng Jingchu to their father, hoping to avoid further misunderstandings or scandals. Cheng Yi, however, pointed out that their "relationship" was already all over the trending lists. Unable to sleep, Cheng Liao messaged Sheng Jingchu, surprised by his immediate response, realizing he was always online. She jokingly asked if she could use his kitchen as a way to "repay" him, to which he readily agreed.

While preparing a meal, Cheng Liao explained that she learned to cook from her grandmother, improving the family's diet after her father's busy work schedule made her grandmother's cooking unpalatable. She mentioned that for her, cooking and eating are ways to celebrate happiness or confront sadness, enabling her to face challenges with renewed vigor.

After she finished cooking, Sheng Jingchu tasted the dish, admitting there was a slight difference from his memory, but quickly reassuring her that the taste was already very good and that memories linked to taste and smell are incredibly strong. He encouraged her not to give up, expressing his trust in her. Cheng Liao then noticed the unique scent of Sheng Jingchu's agarwood, finding it both subtle and reassuring. He offered it to her, but she politely declined.

Observing his minimalist garden with just one tree and grass, she lamented the wasted space and enthusiastically proposed transforming it into a vibrant, transparent greenhouse filled with flowers year-round. Sheng Jingchu, pleased at the prospect of her frequent visits, consented, despite her concerns about the effort involved. Cheng Liao, a landscape architecture student, confidently assured him it wouldn't be difficult and promised to work on it after work and on weekends, anticipating a quick completion.

At work, Cheng Liao's director, Ms. Liu, informed her that since her relationship with Sheng Jingchu was public, public interest in their "scandal" had waned. To generate new content, Ms. Liu assigned Cheng Liao to conduct personal interviews for the upcoming Jiuzhou Four Seas Cup at Jiuzhou Dojo. Ms. Liu specifically instructed her to uncover compelling stories from the other players, as Sheng Jingchu was off-limits for such coverage. Cheng Liao reluctantly agreed to do her best.

Later, Cheng Liao met Xu Chi, who was waiting for her outside her office. She offered to have dinner with him, but he declined, stating he had plans. As he drove her, Cheng Liao asked if he would give up on her sister, Cheng Yi, given her consistent rejections. Xu Chi firmly declared he would not, vowing to pursue her until she accepted him, as he refused to miss his chance this time.

Cheng Liao, acknowledging his determination, wished him success and quietly bid him an internal goodbye, realizing it was time for her to move on. Meanwhile, Cheng Yi, still down from her recent career setback, decided to go shopping to improve her mood. There, she encountered Jiang Yuda, who was passionately playing a Hang drum for a gathering crowd. Intrigued, Cheng Yi accepted his invitation for a drink.

At the bar, Jiang Yuda recognized Cheng Yi as a famous television host and expressed his admiration for her program, "Sincere Conversation." He noticed her sadness and confided that he was even more miserable, having traveled from abroad to challenge renowned Go dojos only to be thoroughly defeated by a female player. He described his humiliation, feeling insignificant compared to domestic players, but firmly declared he would never give up on Go and would find a master.

Cheng Yi, also in low spirits, agreed that everyone faces humbling moments and encouraged him to pursue his goals. Sensing their shared despondency, Cheng Yi led Jiang Yuda to the dance floor to fully release their emotions. The next morning, Jiang Yuda awoke in a hotel to find a stack of money and a note from Cheng Yi, which read, "I hope you will realize your dream soon and can stop being humble." He was bewildered by her actions.

At Jiuzhou Dojo, Cheng Liao began her interviews for the Jiuzhou Four Seas Cup. She spoke with Xie Chang'an, who explained Go's concept of "occurrence," likening its intricate developments to love. However, Yao Ke interjected, calling love an illusion—a simple chemical reaction with superficial variations, incomparable to the profundity of Go. Cao Xihe, on the other hand, thought love was more important than Go. During her interview with Senior Lan, Cheng Liao asked about her aspirations.

Senior Lan shared her idolization of a legendary nine-dan female Go player and her own ambition to achieve professional seven-dan status before ever considering a romantic relationship, firmly stating that "Go is my favorite person." This statement visibly disheartened Cao Xihe, who had been trying to impress her. Later, Jiang Yuda was working as a delivery driver when he received an order from Xu Chi. Feeling lonely, Xu Chi invited Jiang Yuda in for a drink.

Xu Chi recounted his public rejection by the woman he loved, expressing his enduring desire to win her heart. Jiang Yuda, sympathizing, shared his own story of a captivating woman he met—Cheng Yi—who had mysteriously disappeared, leaving him heartbroken. Unaware that they were both speaking of the same woman, Cheng Yi, they bonded over their shared romantic misfortunes, each wishing the other success in pursuing the woman they desired.

As Cheng Liao continued working on Sheng Jingchu's garden late into the night, her father called, noting the late hour and the heavy rain. He told her to stay overnight at her "friend's" house for safety, subtly implying he knew she was with Sheng Jingchu. Sheng Jingchu, overhearing the conversation, acknowledged the situation with a simple "Oh."
