Go Into Your Heart Episode 33 Recap
> Go Into Your Heart Recap
After their reconciliation, Cheng Liao and Sheng Jingchu returned home. Sheng Jingchu quickly prepared some ginger soup for Cheng Liao, noting that the weather had turned colder and her nose was red from the cold. Cheng Liao was touched by his thoughtfulness, remarking that he always treated her the best.
Sheng Jingchu explained that his efforts, like choosing photos and learning editing from Yan Xiao to make posters, and then getting Senior Lan's help with templates, were all sincere, and he couldn't have others do them for him. Sheng Jingchu showed Cheng Liao the flowers he had planted, telling her they had felt listless when she was upset with him. Cheng Liao teased him, pointing out the flowers were thriving.
He admitted he just wanted her compliments, but insisted on keeping them healthy as they were her precious gift. He then promised Cheng Liao that they would never quarrel again and would resolve any unhappiness immediately, urging her not to ignore him. Cheng Liao reciprocated, asking him to share everything important and not keep secrets.
Sheng Jingchu confessed that his heart was only big enough to hold her, to which Cheng Liao replied her heart was equally small and could only hold him. He then sweetly told her, "I love you," playing on the Chinese word for pomelo. During a shared moment, Sheng Jingchu's vision completely recovered, allowing him to see all colors, not just those in his immediate vicinity. Both were overjoyed by this miracle.
The next day, he underwent a comprehensive examination at an eye hospital, confirming his full recovery, bringing immense happiness to everyone. The martial brothers celebrated Sheng Jingchu's recovery. Senior Lan, proud of her "timely move" in helping them reconcile, playfully scolded the other martial brothers for their "bad ideas" that almost ruined everything, even mentioning how Uncle Cheng was accidentally hit by a stone during their attempts.
Cheng Liao assured them that her father was fine, only suffering minor scratches, and even invited them for a meal at his restaurant. Later, Sheng Jingchu played Go with Master Xie, who immediately noticed a significant change in Sheng Jingchu's playing style. Sheng Jingchu confirmed his recovery and attributed his newfound perspective to Cheng Liao.
He explained that if not for her, he would never have completed the "assignment" Master Xie had given him, which led him to a broader understanding of the world. Master Xie, relieved that Sheng Jingchu had found both his colors and happiness, revealed that his earlier decision to make Sheng Jingchu leave Jiuzhou Dojo was to help him overcome his narrow-minded approach to Go, which was driven by a fear of loss and a tendency to attack relentlessly.
Sheng Jingchu acknowledged this, declaring his intent to change his playing style, even if it meant sacrificing a winning streak, to truly bid farewell to his past self. Master Xie advised him on the wisdom of "sacrificing a stone to take the sente," emphasizing that giving up small gains for a higher realm is crucial in both Go and life. With his assignment completed, Sheng Jingchu was welcomed back to Jiuzhou Dojo, with Master Xie entrusting its future to him.
Meanwhile, Yao Ke's younger brother, Yao Pu, returned home to find him despondent. Yao Ke lamented that their previous plans to sabotage Sheng Jingchu had backfired; instead of losing Cheng Liao and falling into despair, Sheng Jingchu had reconciled with her and even regained his full color vision, a "blessing in disguise."
Yao Ke bitterly noted that Sheng Jingchu's Go skills would surely improve, and Master Xie was even encouraging him to interact more with Sheng Jingchu to broaden his own mindset. Despite the setback, Yao Ke was unwilling to give up, stating they would just have to wait for another opportunity to harm Sheng Jingchu. Master Xie received a phone call from the Go association informing him that Senior Lan's previous match results would not qualify her for a 5-dan promotion.
The Go association later announced the dan promotions, and while everyone expected Senior Lan to be promoted, her name was missing from the list. Distraught, Senior Lan sought clarification. Xie Chang'an then explained that although Cao Xihe's withdrawal from the match meant she wasn't directly penalized, her subsequent rematch with Yang Yunfei was a blitz game, which couldn't count towards a dan promotion in a two-day super slow Go tournament. This meant she remained unqualified for promotion.
Senior Lan was heartbroken, feeling she had put Cao Xihe's efforts in vain and that her two wins counted for nothing. She resolved to join Xie Chang'an at the Go association to appeal. However, Xie Chang'an returned, regretfully informing her that the announcement was final and couldn't be changed. Sheng Jingchu later heard from Master Xie that Senior Lan, utterly heartbroken, had dragged him and others to a KTV.
At the KTV, Senior Lan cried and sang loudly, lamenting her difficult fate and feeling she was a burden to Cao Xihe, who had withdrawn from the tournament for her. Her intense singing was unbearable for everyone else. Jiang Yuda and Cao Xihe tried to escape to get drinks, but Senior Lan stopped them, demanding they stay with her, making them all feel as if they were "going to the execution ground."
The next morning, the martial brothers rallied to cheer up Senior Lan. Seeing her hoarse voice from crying and singing, Xie Chang'an offered to make throat-relieving tea. Cheng Liao and Sheng Jingchu also arrived to console her. One of the martial brothers (Jiang Yuda) asked Master Xie for the boxing sandbag from the underground storeroom, explaining he wanted to "save a dispirited girl."
They set up the sandbag for Senior Lan to punch, labeling it "five dan" to symbolize her goal. Cheng Liao encouraged Senior Lan not to give up, reminding her that Go players, like athletes, must have the fighting spirit to get back up after falling, no matter how painful it is, and face setbacks head-on. True to his word, Sheng Jingchu, having regained his sight, quickly obtained his driver's license.
He took Cheng Liao for a ride in his Ferrari, fulfilling a past promise. Cheng Liao expressed her joy and surprise at how fast he got his license. Sheng Jingchu sweetly remarked that if he hadn't met her, the car would have remained in the basement until the end of its life. Cheng Liao playfully stated she had appeared just in time and would now "stick" to him and never leave, which Sheng Jingchu welcomed.
Sheng Jingchu then informed Cheng Liao that he would be going to Nanjing with his martial brothers in a few days to participate in the Go league team match, meaning they would be separated for a while. Cheng Liao reassured him, saying she understood and would be busy herself, launching her "Fox Private Kitchen" video channel.
She explained that Yan Xiao had already edited the first episode, and she needed to maintain a consistent update schedule, which would involve researching seasonal and easy-to-learn dishes. Sheng Jingchu advised her not to overwork herself, but Cheng Liao happily declared that with him by her side and her beloved career, her life was filled with happiness. Meanwhile, Yao Pu asked Yao Ke if he had truly decided to participate in the Go league team match.
Yao Ke, though reluctant, explained that as a professional Go player, he couldn't keep hiding. Yao Pu then questioned why it had to be the team match with Sheng Jingchu. Yao Ke replied that as a member of Jiuzhou Dojo, the team match was unavoidable, and specifically mentioned the Nanjing leg. He also referenced the rumors that he was unable to recover after the Ten-game Match and couldn't afford to lose.
He believed that by participating in the team match, especially with Sheng Jingchu as the leader, he could silence his critics and restore his reputation. Yao Pu agreed that his reasoning made sense.
