Sheng Jingchu promptly called a timeout, and Cheng Liao quickly went to deliver his allergy medicine. An attendant passed the medicine to Sheng Jingchu, explaining that he had an allergic reaction. After taking the medication, Sheng Jingchu's condition improved significantly. He quickly regained control of the Go game against Yao Ke, eventually leading to Yao Ke's concession.

At the Jiuzhou Dojo, Sheng Jingchu's fellow students cheered for his victory, though some also felt sad for Yao Ke, who was their junior. Commentators praised Sheng Jingchu's "one stone takes the world" move and expressed sympathy for Yao Ke. Outside, Sheng Jingchu faced reporters but only accepted questions from Cheng Liao of Pinecone Video. He playfully credited her for his inspiration, saying a "little fox" sent him the medicine.

When asked about his celebration dinner, he told her she could decide. Meanwhile, at Mr. Cheng's Restaurant, Cheng's father was also celebrating Sheng Jingchu's win with his customers, proclaiming that all food and drinks were on him, except for hot dishes. Cheng Liao still felt guilty about the pillow she gave Sheng Jingchu, which had caused his allergy, even though he assured her it wasn't her fault but his own weakness.

Cheng Liao informed Sheng Jingchu that her father invited him for dinner that night, promising his best stewed meatballs. Sheng Jingchu replied that he was not picky about food, but only "picky with people," implying he only cared about being with Cheng Liao. She joked that then he couldn't be picky with her. While Cheng's father was cooking, Jiang Yuda accidentally spilled flour on him from a basin placed on the cabinet, violating a kitchen rule.

An annoyed Cheng's father sent Jiang Yuda out to buy pepper powder and soy sauce for the marinated meat, which he was preparing for Sheng Jingchu. On his errand, Jiang Yuda got distracted by children playing Go by the roadside and joined them, even boasting he could win with a head start. When Cheng's father tried to call him back, Jiang Yuda's phone was unreachable, making him more exasperated.

He went out to search for Jiang Yuda, who, after losing a game, asked one of the children to deliver the groceries to Mr. Cheng's Restaurant. As a car approached, Cheng's father saw it about to hit the child delivering the items and quickly pushed the child out of the way, getting hit by the car himself. Jiang Yuda was filled with self-reproach as he accompanied Cheng's father to the hospital.

Sheng Jingchu, witnessing Cheng's father's accident, was deeply distressed, remembering his own parents' car crash. Jiang Yuda apologized to Cheng Yi, admitting his carelessness led to the accident, but Cheng Yi was too upset to accept his apology and told him to leave. The doctor informed them that Cheng's father's surgery was successful, and with rest and rehab, his mobility would not be affected.

Cheng's father, now awake and on painkillers, joked with his daughters, assuring them he was fine, though he admitted he was more afraid the child would get hit. Officer Luo and Officer Ji arrived from the traffic police department to investigate. They explained that surveillance footage showed the car plate was heavily smudged with mud, and the driver was obscured by a hat and mask, making identification difficult.

Sheng Jingchu offered to help, stating he might be able to find clues from the footage. Using a method similar to the "overlaying method" from the Universal Challenge, he identified a possible number and letter from faint reflections on the smudged plate. Cheng Liao worried this would affect his upcoming match, but Sheng Jingchu insisted that finding the culprit and helping her family was more important than the competition itself.

Sheng Jingchu received a visit from Eldest Senior Brother Xie Chang'an and other dojo members. Xie Chang'an brought bitter gourd-and-egg soup for Cheng's father, explaining its benefits for bone fracture patients, and a herbal tea blend for Sheng Jingchu to combat fatigue from staying up all night. He also advised Sheng Jingchu to focus on his upcoming match and not get distracted.

Sheng Jingchu declined the offer of others staying overnight, noting that Cheng's father would need help with personal care, which might make others uncomfortable. After they left, someone secretly visited the hospital at night and left a letter requesting to "withdraw the charges and settle privately" with a "handsome compensation." Cheng's father initially considered accepting, believing the culprit must have difficulties, but Cheng Liao and Cheng Yi firmly opposed it, insisting that a hit-and-run must be severely punished.

When reporters questioned Sheng Jingchu about the offer, he publicly stated that he would "never accept a private settlement" as it was a legal issue with no room for negotiation. He advised the culprit to surrender and reiterated that some things were more important than winning a match, even if he was tired. Seeing Sheng Jingchu's fatigued state on TV, Yao Ke became restless.

He visited Sheng Jingchu at the hospital, suggesting they postpone the match due to Sheng Jingchu's current situation. However, Sheng Jingchu firmly refused, reiterating that "some things are more important than the match." Yao Ke seemed surprised by this sentiment but left with a sinister smile on his face. Later, Jiang Yuda sincerely apologized to Cheng Yi, expressing his helplessness and not knowing how to face Cheng's father.

Cheng Yi revealed that she never disliked Jiang Yuda and even saw similarities between them, which made her want to help him achieve his goals. But after the accident, her feelings were indescribable. She explained how important her father was, having raised her and Cheng Liao single-handedly, and how terrified she was at the thought of losing him.

She concluded that while she didn't blame him directly, she couldn't feel at ease if he remained around her father, implicitly asking him to leave. Jiang Yuda asked if she was asking him to leave, and Cheng Yi simply stated she had said what she needed to say. Cheng Liao prepared and brought soup for Sheng Jingchu, noting he seemed exhausted lately. He told her he was never tired when someone cared about him.

Cheng Liao then received a phone call, informing her that the hit-and-run driver had been identified as Yang Xiao Yu, an 18-year-old high school graduate who had just finished his college entrance exams. He had taken his father's car out for a spin while his father was away on a business trip, leading to the accident and subsequent evasion. As a result, his university admission qualification was revoked.

News footage showed Yang Xiao Yu's father making arrogant threats, vowing revenge on Cheng's father and Sheng Jingchu for ruining his son's future. Sheng Jingchu and Yao Ke's next match had begun. Cheng's father, worried his accident might affect Sheng Jingchu's performance, expressed his guilt. Cheng Yi reassured him, reminding him that Yao Ke had never beaten Sheng Jingchu and that he should just focus on recovery, promising to cook him a feast as a reward after he healed.

Commentators observed that the black stones had a slight advantage with ten points of territory, and Yao Ke was playing cautiously, even using a "corner invasion" tactic to buy time and count territory, making the game a potential "battle for pride." They noted that if Sheng Jingchu lost this round, it would be a major headline as it would be Yao Ke's first win against Sheng Jingchu in ten years.
