Cheng Yi was surprised to find Jiang Yuda delivering food from Mr. Cheng's Restaurant. Concerned about paparazzi and potential rumors, she drove him to a secluded area to talk. Jiang Yuda apologized for the previous photos that caused her negative publicity. He explained that his main intention in working at her father's restaurant was to get closer to Cheng Liao, hoping she could help him become Sheng Jingchu's disciple.
He admitted that being able to see Cheng Yi frequently was an added bonus, even expressing a fear of becoming lovesick. Cheng Yi quickly dismissed his romantic notions, stating there was no possibility between them. She warned him to work hard, not to disturb her or her family's lives, and especially not to interfere with Cheng Liao and Sheng Jingchu's relationship.
Jiang Yuda promised not to disturb her, saying he was content to admire her from afar and would be there if she ever needed someone to talk to or vent to. Cheng Liao confessed to Sheng Jingchu that she had been thinking deeply about their situation and needed more time to give him a responsible answer, viewing it as a responsible consideration for both of them.
Sheng Jingchu reassured her, telling her not to feel pressured and that he would wait for her, no matter how long it took. He promised to fulfill her request to drink less, acknowledging that it was unhealthy. On Qixi Festival, Xu Chi approached Cheng Yi, initially suggesting a date but quickly shifting to a professional discussion when he realized she didn't want to spend time with him.
He encouraged her to consider joining Pinecone Video, explaining that his boss wanted to recruit her. He emphasized that her current show, "Sincere Conversation," offered limited future prospects at Binhai TV, and that the new media era demanded change. Cheng Yi, though considering a career change, felt the offer was sudden and expressed reluctance to abandon her show, "Sincere Conversation," feeling it would be irresponsible.
Later, she met with Mr. Wang, the head of Pinecone Video, who reiterated the compelling offer and praised her talent. Cheng Yi thanked him for the invitation and asked for some time to reflect on such a significant decision, which Mr. Wang graciously accepted, stating the doors of Pinecone Video were always open to her.
Meanwhile, Cheng Yi and Xu Chi invited Cheng Liao to dinner, but Cheng Liao happily declined, revealing that Sheng Jingchu had already asked her out for Qixi Festival. Sheng Jingchu then arrived on a bicycle to pick her up, eliciting a playful comment from Cheng Liao to Xu Chi about the eco-friendly and stylish choice, much to Xu Chi's amusement. They rode off together as the rain started.
At the Jiuzhou Dojo, Ding Lan was practicing Go when Jo Yeon Hoon joined her. Overjoyed, she asked him to play with her, praising his exceptional skills and calling him Cao Xihe's "Kryptonite." Hearing this, Cao Xihe, irritated, challenged Jo Yeon Hoon to a blind Go game. During the intense game, Ding Lan intentionally distracted Cao Xihe, causing him to lose his focus and the match. Frustrated, Cao Xihe stormed off.
Ding Lan then led Jo Yeon Hoon to her room, which was filled with his posters and photos. She prepared Korean dishes for him, expressing her strong admiration and confessing her feelings, believing he reciprocated. However, she also stated her commitment not to date until she achieved a professional seven-dan rank and asked if he would wait for her.
Jo Yeon Hoon immediately clarified that she had misunderstood; he wasn't interested in her and his attentiveness was merely a prank to annoy Cao Xihe. Just then, he received a video call from his girlfriend and quickly left. Heartbroken by his deception, Ding Lan cried. Cao Xihe, finding her in tears, tried to comfort her but soon also succumbed to his own emotions, crying about his unrequited love for Ding Lan.
Cheng Liao and Sheng Jingchu, caught in the rain while cycling, hurried back to Sheng Jingchu's home. Cheng Liao offered to cook for him, but they realized they lacked ingredients. Sheng Jingchu grabbed an umbrella, and they ventured out together to buy groceries, enjoying a cozy walk in the rain. Later, as Cheng Yi and Xu Chi dined at a restaurant, Jiang Yuda observed them from a nearby window.
Despite the distance and being unable to enter due to his attire, he was satisfied, feeling as though he was sharing a meal with Cheng Yi. Back at Sheng Jingchu’s home, Cheng Liao and Sheng Jingchu cooked together. They amused themselves by reading each other's palm lines. Cheng Liao commented on Sheng Jingchu's long "wisdom line," attributing it to his high intelligence, and his "marriage line," which suggested he valued deep soulful connections and would have a long life.
Sheng Jingchu then observed Cheng Liao's hand, noting her "wisdom line" with many branches indicated a flexible and creative mind. He also pointed out feather-like patterns on her "heart line," signifying her warmth and meticulous nature. They both concluded that their long "life lines" and "marriage lines" promised a future where they would grow old together with their beloved. After dinner, Cheng Yi visited Jiang Yuda.
He partially repaid the money she had lent him in installments, proudly stating he wasn't someone who depended on others and was diligently working towards his dream of becoming a Go "Great Master." Cheng Yi encouraged his efforts. Later that night, Cheng Liao and Cheng Yi, both doing laundry, chatted about their respective dates. Cheng Liao teased Cheng Yi about Xu Chi and whether they were together, while Cheng Yi playfully questioned Cheng Liao about her romantic activities with Sheng Jingchu.
