Upon seeing Wu Si, Tang Xin is astonished, questioning if she is dreaming and wondering why he is there. Wu Si explains they were in An for a military competition and rushed over after the embassy notified them that two Chinese citizens had gone missing nearby. A doctor examines Tang Xin, assuring them she is fine, just a little dehydrated, and needs rest.
Later, as Wu Si naps from exhaustion after the competition, Yi Nanwang, holding a hearing aid, tells Tang Xin that Wu Si suffered temporary hearing damage from diving too deep and too fast during the competition, adding that Wu Si is refusing to wear the hearing aid despite the severity. Feeling for Wu Si, Tang Xin sits beside him, thinking he is asleep and cannot hear.
She reflects on avoiding him since returning from Mazhan Town, admitting she was not mad about the Dayan Reef or the secrets but because he had made her look foolish. She confesses her struggle with having fallen for him, a soldier, after having always declared she would never date one. She mentions finding him handsome, recalling his military uniform at Lan Yangyang’s wedding and the unexpected joy of being attracted to someone in uniform.
Thinking he is still asleep, she thanks him for always being there for her and apologizes for kissing him earlier in the jungle. To her surprise, Wu Si opens his eyes, revealing he is already healed and heard everything, though he offers to pretend he didn't. Tang Xin is flustered and embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Zong Qing, finding Lan Yangyang safe, expresses his immense worry and scolds her for her reckless actions, like going into a foreign jungle she knew nothing about without preparation, emphasizing the potential dangers. He points out that her safety was due to sheer luck: going with Tang Xin, the hotel receptionist calling the police, and the embassy approving their search.
Lan Yangyang apologizes, understanding his concern and feeling guilty that he came looking for them directly after his competition without resting. Zong Qing reassures her that his only concern was her safety, not the trouble she caused. Later, Wu Si reiterates that the choice regarding their potential relationship is entirely hers, offering her more time to decide and pretending not to have heard her earlier confession if she needs it.
Tang Xin opens up about her childhood in military camps and her internal conflict about dating a soldier, admitting she was just contradicting herself. Wu Si acknowledges her concerns, assures her he respects them, and will not pressure her, waiting for her to make a decision she won't regret. His conversation is cut short by a notification that he must return to the unit.
Tang Xin is disappointed he has to leave so quickly and prompts him to ask her something. Wu Si directly asks, "Tang Xin, will you be my girlfriend?" After a moment of stuttered hesitation, Tang Xin accepts. Back at the unit after the competition, the Brigadier is pleased with the team's performance but stresses that learning from the experience is more important than winning, specifically advising Wu Si to keep Yi Nanwang grounded.
He mentions the upcoming naval training and potential long convoy mission, telling Wu Si to take advantage of the downtime he'll have before then. Separately, Tang Xin meets with Lan Yangyang, who teases her about Wu Si and the kiss, having heard about it from Zong Qing. Lan Yangyang directly asks Tang Xin if she likes Wu Si, and despite her past declarations, Tang Xin admits her feelings, leading to playful teasing from Lan Yangyang.
At Bai Zijian's home, his mother finds Wang Chen's pre-pregnancy examination report. She confronts Bai Zijian and Wang Chen, revealing she knows Wang Chen cannot have children due to a uterine injury and low hormone levels, as stated in the report. She scolds them for deceiving her, stating her only wish was for a grandchild and feeling hurt that they would lie to her.
Wang Chen is visibly embarrassed, while Bai Zijian tries to explain, but his mother walks away, feeling like an outsider. Tang Xin's father paces worriedly about her late return but pretends to be indifferent when she arrives home. He only reacts when she mentions Wu Si. Later, Tang Xin communicates with her informant via email.
The informant reveals someone claiming to be Tang Xin's friend contacted their old email address, asking for the sunken ship lead because Tang Xin was supposedly busy abroad. Tang Xin confirms she did not authorize this and is surprised the person had the informant's email, which she had kept private, except potentially if they had accessed her computer previously.
Wu Si is seen with his comrades reviewing naval training subjects but accidentally shares a detailed personal "Dating Timetable," leading to his comrades teasing him about his new relationship. Later, Tang Xin meets with Wu Si and tells him about the mysterious person who contacted her informant, claiming to be her friend and trying to obtain the lead and arrange a meeting.
Tang Xin is concerned about the informant's safety and wants Wu Si's advice on whether the informant should agree to meet this person to find out who they are. Wu Si advises agreeing to a meeting, suggesting it happen on the weekend but without setting a specific time or place until shortly before, so he can accompany her to ensure their safety. Wu Si then receives a call and must leave for the unit, much to Tang Xin's disappointment.
Meanwhile, Han Yuhang learns Tang Xin has returned to work and contacts the informant. He then visits Tang Xin, informing her that he was the one who contacted the informant using her email while she was abroad, claiming to be her friend to try and help her. He admits he has arranged to meet the informant this Sunday, and the informant requires Tang Xin to be present at the meeting.
Tang Xin again questions how he obtained the informant's email, but Han Yuhang refuses to disclose his methods, claiming he just wants to help. Later, Han Yuhang is with Tang Xin, preparing to meet the informant, who says they will provide the specific location only an hour before.
