When Yue Yue accompanied Chi Cheng to register their profiles together, Chi Cheng’s parents were very warm and welcoming upon meeting her. Yue Yue, being experienced, skillfully tried to win their favor, believing she had easily won over Chi Cheng’s family and would soon be living a wealthy life. However, after they left, Chi Cheng became distant and indifferent, even asking someone else to send Yue Yue home, leaving her deeply disappointed. Chi Cheng’s mind was entirely on Wu Suowei.
Since Wu Suowei kept rejecting him, Chi Cheng consulted those around him for advice on what approach he should take. People around him speculated that either Wu Suowei was too pure or had something to hide, which made him afraid to be with Chi Cheng. Guo Chengyu, after being blocked by Jiang Xiaoshuai, wasn’t discouraged. Instead, he used the opportunity of picking up medicine to have his subordinate deliver desserts to Jiang Xiaoshuai.
Jiang Xiaoshuai, not seeing Guo Chengyu himself, actually felt a bit disappointed and asked for the dessert to be taken away. But when he heard it would just be thrown out, he hesitated, unwilling to waste something from Guo Chengyu. Ever since the forced kiss, Wu Suowei had avoided seeing Chi Cheng. With no other choice, Chi Cheng pestered Jiang Xiaoshuai, pressuring him to reveal Wu Suowei’s whereabouts. Helpless, Jiang Xiaoshuai gave Chi Cheng the address to Wu Suowei’s home.
Upon arriving, Chi Cheng learned from Wu Suowei’s mother that he was still sick. At that moment, Wu Suowei happened to be watching an educational video. When Chi Cheng arrived unexpectedly, he was so startled he threw his phone onto the bed—only for Chi Cheng to notice. Chi Cheng tried to make a move, but luckily Wu Suowei’s mother called them for dinner just in time, defusing the situation.
While staying at Wu Suowei’s home, Chi Cheng learned more about Wu Suowei’s difficult background. During dinner, he showed great warmth toward Wu Suowei’s mother, who was very pleased with him. Wu Suowei also began to view Chi Cheng differently and more favorably. Since it was already late, Wu Suowei’s mother invited Chi Cheng to stay the night. Later, Wu Suowei returned to the basketball court and played basketball with Chi Cheng.
During the game, the two behaved flirtatiously with each other. During a break, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei, seeing it was her, deliberately caused a scene nearby to prevent Chi Cheng from going on a date with her. Chi Cheng thought Wu Suowei was jealous and actually turned Yue Yue down, instead going with Wu Suowei to eat spicy hot pot.
Normally, Chi Cheng wouldn’t eat from roadside stalls, but since Wu Suowei wanted to go, he didn’t object—even eating chili peppers he usually avoided under Wu Suowei’s coaxing. Watching Chi Cheng eat spicy hot pot, Wu Suowei suddenly recalled the reason Yue Yue broke up with him—saying he was poor and always looked sloppy. Yet the proud and pampered Chi Cheng was now willing to eat street food with him, which moved Wu Suowei deeply.
Because of the heat, and perhaps to break the awkwardness, Wu Suowei lifted his shirt a little to cool off. Seeing Wu Suowei act so bold and revealing, Chi Cheng became jealous and forcefully pulled him into the car to cool down, even stealing another kiss. Wu Suowei originally thought this would drive Chi Cheng away, causing him to return to Yue Yue, but to his surprise, Chi Cheng suggested bringing Wu Suowei home to live with him.
Wu Suowei refused, wanting Chi Cheng to break up with Yue Yue first. But Yue Yue had her own reasons and wasn’t ready to break up. Thinking Chi Cheng was trying to keep both of them, Wu Suowei stormed out of the car and ran off in the pouring rain. Guo Chengyu had someone look into Wu Suowei’s background and found out that Yue Yue had been Wu Suowei’s girlfriend for three years.
From Guo Chengyu’s perspective, Wu Suowei was now fighting his ex-girlfriend over a man, which made him suspect Wu Suowei had ulterior motives. Guo Chengyu’s own investigation revealed he had opened his clinic in this city just to escape the heartbreak of a previous relationship. When Yue Yue went to the basketball court to look for Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei saw her. In an effort to sabotage them, he acted gloomy that night, even pretending to smoke, and went to find Chi Cheng—only to be forcefully taken home by him.
