Under Su Bei's guidance, Eminence successfully won the second round of the design competition. After the victory, Su Bei approached Lu Nan, asking if he had forgiven her.
Lu Nan, however, coldly stated he was merely checking on the design progress and admonished her for overworking, suggesting she shouldn't feign difficulty and make Eminence appear to exploit its employees. Su Bei assured him she was diligently working on the second draft and would secure the cooperation with Sia. One evening, Chris, keenly aware of the growing estrangement between his parents, directly asked Su Bei if she and Lu Nan were getting a divorce.
Su Bei admitted she had made a mistake that had angered Lu Nan, suggesting he might not be able to forgive her. Chris, however, insisted that Su Bei was the best person in the world and that if there was any fault, it must lie with his father. He had waited up for her, falling asleep on the sofa, and upon waking, shared a dream of them visiting an amusement park as a family.

The day after Eminence and Sia officially partnered, a shocking scandal erupted. Lu Nan fiercely defended Su Bei, arguing that her efforts were crucial in securing the Sia cooperation and that as her husband, he would personally bear all consequences.
He chastised the board for being so quick to cast her aside. An assistant reported that Sia was already considering terminating their cooperation. Su Bei, determined not to be a victim as she was seven years prior, declared her intent to prove her innocence.
Lu Nan instructed his team to contact mainstream media to remove negative posts and issue a legal statement against those spreading false information, while also initiating an investigation into Gu's Group, suspecting their involvement due to the suspicious timing. Despite Lu Nan's strong defense, Su Bei presented him with a signed divorce agreement. She explained that with the scandal still unresolved, divorcing would shift all responsibility onto her, thereby protecting Eminence from further harm.
Lu Nan, furious and seeing this as another abandonment, signed the papers, angrily calling her an "ungrateful woman." The emotional strain, coupled with the vivid memory of Su Bei leaving him seven years ago under similar circumstances, caused Lu Nan to collapse from a severe headache. Amy praised Lu Nan, remarking on Su Bei's fortune to have such a supportive husband. Su Bei, still determined to win Lu Nan back, tried to make him breakfast at his home. He rejected her food and, grabbing her, physically carried her out of his house. However, once she was gone, he returned to the table and began to eat the breakfast she had prepared, revealing his feigned anger. Enraged, Gu Chengze accused Gu Yan of leaking the information, which Gu Yan denied. Su Bei promptly handed the evidence to the police, ensuring Gu Chengze's arrest for both commercial fraud and misappropriation of funds, which she jokingly referred to as "interest."
A brief encounter between Su Bei, Gu Yan, and Lu Nan at Eminence's lobby saw Lu Nan display clear jealousy, questioning Su Bei's meeting with Gu Yan. Su Bei explained it was related to Gu Chengze, leading to a playful exchange where both admitted to feeling jealous. Despite this, Lu Nan reiterated that he had not yet forgiven her, to which Su Bei calmly responded that she would endure his anger for as long as it took.
The following day, a man claiming to be Zhao Rui's father appeared outside Eminence's building, holding a sign and loudly demanding "a life for a life," accusing Su Bei of causing his daughter's death and stirring up a crowd of onlookers.
