Synopsis
A year ago, a murder fuelled by personal vendetta occurred in the northern town, Chen Cang, with the perpetrator Qin Hong fleeing justice. A year later, when police “discovered” Qin Hong in the south, her body had already been discarded into the sea by her boyfriend Ma Weicheng, leaving no trace of her remains.
This was a case with both eyewitnesses and physical evidence, where the perpetrator had even confessed to the crime. Yet the complete absence of the body left the investigating detective, Liu Wang, deeply uneasy, unable to shake the nagging doubt: ‘Is Qin Hong truly dead?’
