He explained that the owner was his friend and had agreed to keep the establishment open for an additional two hours for them. Upon seeing the expensive menu, Yu Fei felt awkward and unsure of what to order. Bai Feili playfully stood up and pretended to be a server, charmingly recommending dishes like roadside seafood barbecue and Italian mushroom noodles.
He then lovingly placed a napkin on her, explaining that eating with a loved one keeps you young. After dinner, they relaxed in a back garden, sitting on a rocking chair under the stars. Yu Fei pointed out a particular star, her childhood confidant since she was twelve. She recounted how she joined the Shandengting troupe at that age and struggled with the intense training.
One day, overwhelmed, she ran away and got lost, but the clear night sky allowed her to see that star. As she walked and talked to it, she eventually found her way back to the troupe. Since then, the star became her trusted friend, listening to all her sorrows. However, his father, Bai Juyuan, who provided the funds, demanded that the studio's valuation double within a month, or he would consider acquiring it.
Bai Feili proposed inviting a prominent figure back into the public eye to generate buzz and commercial opportunities, believing it was the fastest way to increase their valuation. Despite Guan Jiu's reservations, Bai Feili had already arranged a major online battle with Feiwo Studio. Meanwhile, Hao Shi sent Yu Fei a link to the battle website, eagerly telling her that Jiubai's legendary coser, Ruoshui, would make an appearance.
He described Ruoshui as a "first goddess" and a "legendary-level coser" who had once collaborated with Guan Jiu on a stunning "Sakuran" performance but had not appeared since. Yu Fei entered the virtual battle stage, where Guan Jiu was competing against Lingjiu. Although Feiwo initially had the advantage, Guan Jiu began to close the gap. Lingjiu then deliberately faked a fall to elicit sympathy, pulling ahead again.
Seeing their score drop, Yu Fei stepped in, delivering a heartfelt performance that helped Jiubai regain some ground. Suddenly, Yu Fei's screen went black. Guan Jiu, a computer expert, immediately suspected a hacker attack on their backend system. She quickly counter-attacked Feiwo's server, successfully drawing "Ruoshui" out. Yu Fei was surprised to note Ruoshui's striking resemblance to Bai Feili. Unaware of the battle, Bai Juyuan was at home, discussing business with his stepmother.
He stated his intention to give the company's marketing department to Bai Feili because Bai Feili was his biological son. His stepmother discreetly recorded this conversation, clearly aiming to protect her nephew's position within the company. Shortly after the battle, Bai Feili, who was the persona "Ruoshui," began to feel unwell. Yu Fei rushed to Jiubai Studio to check on him.
From her angle, she saw Guan Jiu attending to the ailing Bai Feili, creating a profound misunderstanding as it appeared to her as if they were kissing. Heartbroken, Yu Fei silently turned and left. Yu Fei went to her aunt's house to make dumplings. Bai Feili soon arrived, but Yu Fei's demeanor remained distant. Bai Feili charmed her aunt with compliments, making her laugh heartily. Yu Fei, growing increasingly frustrated by the conversation and Bai Feili's persona, made it clear that they were not getting married. Her aunt, realizing Bai Feili's surname was Bai, asked if he was related to the prominent Bai Juyuan, known for the Shang&Shan Group. Bai Feili confirmed that Bai Juyuan was indeed his father, the heir of Shang&Shan Group. Unable to bear their cheerful interaction, Yu Fei left the room.
Her aunt wondered if Yu Fei's reaction was a genuine tantrum or a strategic "hard-to-get" tactic, prompting Bai Feili to go and find out. Bai Feili confronted Yu Fei, asking why she had left without a word and was avoiding his calls. Yu Fei, still upset, revealed that her house had been flooded by a heavy rain and she was busy with repairs, which was why she hadn't responded. He admitted there were some things he wasn't ready to talk about, but pleaded with her not to doubt his feelings for her. Yu Fei confessed her confusion, feeling him sometimes close and sometimes distant. She expressed her jealousy of Guan Jiu, who had met him earlier, knew more about him, spent more time by his side, and could protect his inner vulnerabilities in a way she couldn't.
Bai Feili took her hand and placed it on his chest, reassuring her that his heart belonged to her and asking her to let go of her anger. Later, Yu Fei encountered a "Daydream Space" activity called "A Night For A Lonely Love Confession," which encouraged individuals to secretly or loudly speak their unspoken truths. Meanwhile, Hao Shi, seemingly smitten, spotted Guan Jiu on a bus.
He impulsively left his bag, chased the bus, and sat behind her, quietly protecting her as she slept, preventing her head from bumping against the seat. His affection for Guan Jiu was further revealed as he meticulously planned her meals, noting expiry dates for vegetables and reminding her to finish eggs in her fridge, all to ensure no food went to waste.
