Upon returning home, Yu Zhi desperately hoped Gao Jie would confide in him. He questioned her about her activities after work. Gao Jie explained that Mu Ziyun took her to a jewelry shop to pick out pieces and then they visited her mother, Pan Yue, staying until she fell asleep, adding that she had been exhausted from work lately.
Yu Zhi then posed a hypothetical question: if his friend's current girlfriend contacted his former girlfriend, should he pretend not to know or expose her directly? Gao Jie recalled Yu Zhi's past words about love having no secrets, but then dismissed them, saying she was naive when she said them. Yu Zhi affirmed his willingness to believe her if she told him the truth.
Gao Jie, suspecting he might have discovered something but dismissing it as overthinking, avoided answering the hypothetical directly, stating it was not appropriate for her to interfere. Disappointed by her continued feigned ignorance, Yu Zhi then declared he was going out to help his friend "think things through about what to do with that woman" and left, leaving Gao Jie confused as he had previously cleared his schedule for their engagement preparations.

Meanwhile, Pan Yue was seated on a bench when two men approached her, demanding money and attempting to snatch her phone. Mu Ziyun, spotting the incident, rushed forward to intervene but was struck by a passing vehicle, losing consciousness.
Pan Yue was visibly distressed by the scene, crying out Mu Ziyun's name as an ambulance was called. Yu Zhi, having ignored Gao Jie's message, arrived at the Custom Order group, stating he was there to pick up Gao Jie. Master Zheng informed him that Gao Jie had already left, rushing to the nursing home because her mother was missing. Yu Zhi tried to call, but Master Zheng reassured him that Pan Yue had been found.

At the hospital, Pan Yue was sleeping soundly. The doctor informed Gao Jie that Pan Yue was fine but had experienced some trauma, while Mu Ziyun had likely sustained a concussion and required observation. Despite the diagnosis, Mu Ziyun insisted on leaving due to urgent company matters, but Gao Jie prevented her. Gao Jie went to fetch medication, and upon her return, discovered Mu Ziyun had vanished.
Gao Jie asked a nurse to look after Pan Yue and pursued Mu Ziyun. She found Mu Ziyun being harassed by debt collectors. Gao Jie confronted the men, accusing them of bullying a woman in broad daylight. The debt collectors demanded payment, and Mu Ziyun pleaded for more time, promising to repay them once she raised the money. She asked them to stop following her.
Gao Jie then interjected, telling the men that they were close to securing the funds and warned that their persistence might jeopardize Mu Ziyun's ability to pay, leading to their own loss. Yu Zhi then inquired about Gao Jie's family, specifically why her uncles and aunts wouldn't be attending their engagement.
Gao Jie explained that they were not local and had lost touch after her grandfather's death, so she did not want to invite them abruptly. She reassured him that she wouldn't feel mistreated by their absence. During this conversation, Yu Zhi received a text message stating that Mu Ziyun had found someone to agree to a 2% stock transfer, and the transferor was Gao Jie, along with an image of a "Stock Transfer Agreement between Gao Jie and Mu Ziyun."
