Yu Zhi noticed Yu Yi's displeasure and promptly offered his apologies. Yu Yi, however, was still tense, advising Yu Zhi to report his actions beforehand in the future, warning that he wouldn't be able to clean up any messes. He then questioned Yu Zhi's loyalty, asking if he would betray him again for personal gain, just as he had seemingly abandoned their agreement with Gao Hui for Gao Jie.
Yu Yi confessed he couldn't see through Yu Zhi's true intentions, wondering if his brother's return was genuinely to help him or served another purpose. Later, the grandmother inquired about Gao Jie's family's perspective on her impending marriage to Yu Zhi. She expressed her fondness for Gao Jie. The grandmother informed Gao Jie that while the Custom Order Group would remain, it lacked independent sales and support and needed to be affiliated with either the Plain Gold or Inlay Group.
Gao Jie decided to discuss this with her master craftsmen. Feeling trapped by the company's internal politics, Gao Jie met Mu Ziyun at a coffee shop. Mu Ziyun expected Gao Jie to choose the Plain Gold Group, but Gao Jie was still deliberating. Mu Ziyun scoffed, suggesting that her status as Gao Jie's aunt was perhaps less important than Yu Zhi.
She cautioned Gao Jie against making emotional decisions, especially considering her family situation, and implied the grandmother might not approve, which made Gao Jie think of her own mother. Meanwhile, in the Inlay Group office, colleagues gossiped about Gao Jie and Yu Zhi. Chen Pinzhen, Gao Jie's friend, was interrogated, while Ye Siqiang tried to ingratiate himself. Gao Hui arrived, dismissed Ye Siqiang, and assigned Chen Pinzhen a heavy workload. She then confronted Yu Yi, who was in her office.
Yu Yi announced that he would directly manage Hui Xin's operations with her. Gao Hui was displeased and reaffirmed that she would never give up on Yu Zhi. As she tried to send him away, Yu Yi boldly confessed his love, promising to protect her and stay by her side forever. Gao Hui, stunned, told him that if he persisted, they could only be enemies. Yu Yi refused to back down, promising to help her establish herself in the company.
Gao Hui, seizing the opportunity, requested an expedited new production line for Hui Xin, to which Yu Yi readily agreed, receiving only a curt thank you. The next morning, when Yu Yi tried to talk about his confession, Gao Hui dismissed it as drunken talk and told him to pretend nothing had happened. Later, her mother called, expressing worry about her and mentioning Yu Yi, which further irritated Gao Hui.
She told her mother to stop involving the Yu brothers and vowed not to lose to Gao Jie. Gao Jie returned to the Custom Order Group, feigning distress, but the master craftsmen were delighted that their group was being retained. Yu Zhi, anticipating her choice, believed she would affiliate with the Inlay Group. The next day, at the meeting to decide the Custom Order Group's affiliation, Yu Zhi attended on Yu Yi's behalf.
Both the Plain Gold and Inlay groups expressed their willingness to support the Custom Order Group. Gao Jie then announced the masters' decision to affiliate with the Plain Gold Group, much to Yu Zhi and the grandmother's surprise. After the meeting, Gao Jie explained to Mu Ziyun that her decision was purely professional, based on the Plain Gold Group's compatibility with the Custom Order Group.
Mu Ziyun, however, warned her to sever ties with Yu Zhi, stating that the Yu family was "trouble." The grandmother told Yu Zhi that Gao Jie's choice of the Plain Gold Group was a welcome surprise and a good fit. She encouraged him to bring Gao Jie home for dinner soon. Gao Jie waited outside Yu Zhi's office. When he entered, he angrily drew the curtains and confronted her, accusing her of collaborating with Mu Ziyun.
Gao Jie quickly explained that the decision was a collective one by the Custom Order Group and apologized for his misunderstanding. His anger made her privately fear how much more furious he would be if he knew Mu Ziyun was her maternal aunt. Yu Zhi later found himself at a climbing gym, frustrated that Gao Jie had made him lose focus on his responsibilities and plans for revenge.
Despite his anger, he found it difficult to stay upset with her after seeing her timidly apologize. His friend, Yan Kai, persuaded him to go drinking. Yu Zhi returned home intoxicated and ignored Gao Jie, feeling uncertain about her true intentions. Gao Jie then presented him with a pair of wedding rings she had designed, modeled after a "tree of life," symbolizing her deep and essential love for him.
Yu Zhi initially dismissed her words as flattery and questioned if she would have chosen him without the masters' influence. Gao Jie responded that, given her life's circumstances, he was not merely a choice, but her "only" option. Softened, Yu Zhi admitted he liked hearing her assurances, even if they were meant to placate him. He then suggested they meet their families, an idea that made Gao Jie hesitant, but Yu Zhi insisted on making arrangements for the next day.
The following day, Mu Ziyun looked displeased as Yu Zhi and Gao Jie arrived home together. Gao Jie instinctively pulled her hand away from Yu Zhi's, but Yu Zhi quickly stepped in front of her defensively when Mu Ziyun once again questioned Gao Jie's commitment. Separately, the grandmother rejected the proposal to increase Hui Xin's production line, questioning Yu Yi's leadership abilities and advising both him and Gao Hui to be more cautious and steady.
Yu Yi felt a growing sense of crisis. Yu Zhi later acknowledged Yu Yi's capabilities as the Inlay Group's president. Seeking to avoid any awkwardness with Gao Hui, Yu Yi told Yu Zhi that he would handle the Hui Xin series and the new store opening, allowing Yu Zhi to focus on the overseas contracts. Gao Hui was enraged by the grandmother's decision regarding the production line. She saw Yu Zhi's affectionate social media post and was furious.
Her father, Gao Hai, attempted to console her, suggesting she let go of Yu Zhi as Gao Jie genuinely loved him. He criticized Yu Zhi, calling him a "two-timing playboy" and believing neither sister should be with him. Gao Hui vehemently defended Yu Zhi, accusing Gao Jie of "fooling" him, and vowed that she would not let Gao Jie win.
