Nice to Meet You Episode 11 Recap
> Nice to Meet You Recap
Grandpa passed away, leaving Gao Jie and Pan Yue in Yu Zhi's care. Pan Yue, witnessing Gao Jie's profound grief, did not fully comprehend the tragedy. Later, Pan Yue, holding her doll, innocently tried to show it to Grandpa, believing he was playing hide-and-seek. Gao Jie was heartbroken, realizing she would never see him again. Pan Yue, pulling at Gao Jie, wanted to go home and find her dad. Gao Jie hugged her, trying to soothe her.
Yu Zhi stepped in to comfort Pan Yue, telling her that Grandpa had gone to find Grandma. Pan Yue, seemingly content, then went off happily with some food. Gao Jie collapsed into Yu Zhi's arms, and in the process, Pan Yue accidentally struck Gao Jie's phone, shattering its screen and seemingly a photo of the three of them on it. Meanwhile, a distraught Gao Hai, in a drunken state, went to bid farewell to Grandpa.
Wu Xiaoci, seeing him, found his presence an ill omen and was stunned to learn of Grandpa's passing. Gao Hai glared at Wu Xiaoci, who tried to deflect blame for her role in the tragedy. Enraged by her callousness, Gao Hai cursed at her. He grew even more furious at her heartless discussion about taking over the house, especially since Grandpa had once been her respected mentor. Gao Jie returned to the old house, clutching Grandpa's portrait.
Overwhelmed by memories, she broke down in tears, unable to console herself. Yu Zhi understood her pain, sharing that he, too, had witnessed his own mother's passing. Gao Jie realized she had to shoulder the responsibility for her family and intended to find a new rental quickly. Yu Zhi took it upon himself to handle the housing arrangements, reiterating his promise to Grandpa to look after them.
Gao Jie believed he made the promise to give Grandpa peace of mind, but Yu Zhi insisted it was not a burden. Si Cheng arrived at the old house, having heard of Grandpa's death, and offered his assistance. Gao Jie introduced Yu Zhi and Si Cheng. Gao Jie noticed money placed before Grandpa's portrait, but she refused to accept it from Si Cheng.
Yu Zhi also advised Si Cheng to take the money back, understanding that Gao Jie would not feel comfortable accepting it, and Si Cheng complied. When Yu Zhi returned home, he found Yu Yi, who deduced that Yu Zhi had been so consumed with Gao Jie's matters that he hadn't replied to an unreasonable email from a supplier for three days. Yu Yi once again warned Yu Zhi not to dedicate so much time to Gao Jie.
Yu Zhi promptly investigated the supplier issue and then asked Yu Yi to agree to a condition once it was resolved: allowing Gao Jie into the inlay department. Yu Yi directly refused, arguing that Gao Jie joining that department would only negatively affect Yu Zhi and Gao Hui. On his way to deal with the supplier, Yu Zhi encountered Mu Ziyun. She feigned ignorance, claiming the matter was already settled, but Yu Zhi handled her calmly, deeming the issue trivial.
Gao Jie spent time organizing Grandpa's small repair shop, and the familiar tools triggered a fresh wave of sad memories. Gao Hai came to comfort her, but Gao Jie ignored him, stating she would vacate the house as soon as possible. Gao Hai quickly apologized, expressing his desire to make amends to Pan Yue and Gao Jie.
Gao Jie angrily questioned his right to make amends, and confronted by his family's actions, she became enraged, declaring that Wu Xiaoci, who caused Grandpa's death, was his true family. Gao Jie had always believed her father was a respectable man, but his presence shattered that illusion. She told him she didn't need his so-called compensation; no amount of money could bring Grandpa back. Gao Jie demanded Gao Hai leave and never disturb her and her mother's lives again.
Gao Hai, however, insisted they didn't have to leave and could stay there as long as they wished. After Gao Hai's departure, Gao Jie collapsed into a chair, overwhelmed by tears. Yu Zhi promptly exposed the supplier's true intentions and advised him to consider carefully whose side he should be on, emphasizing that the ultimate owner of Rui Hua was named Yu, not Mu. The supplier immediately backed down.
Later, Si Cheng offered Gao Jie an opportunity to work at a jewelry company abroad, acknowledging the unfavorable attitude towards her in the domestic jewelry design industry. However, Gao Jie was determined to stay and succeed, wanting to prove her detractors wrong. In a phone call, Yu Zhi complained to Gao Jie about work issues. Gao Jie advised him to replace the product line, which would give him greater leverage in negotiations. Mu Ziyun returned to Shanghai and quickly sought out Gao Jie, at which point Gao Jie's pent-up grievances burst forth.
