My Heroic Husband Episode 27 Recap
> My Heroic Husband Recap
While waiting by the gate, Su's Second Household was discovered and immediately taken away by bandits. Ning Yi, along with Guard Geng and Lu Hongti, apprehended a bandit involved in Su Tan'er's disappearance. Ning Yi threatened to kill the bandit’s family. The bandit confessed that he had kidnapped Su Tan'er intending to offer her to Commander Bao Wenhan, but two men had intercepted them and bought her at a high price.
When pressed for her location, the bandit repeatedly claimed he had no idea where she was sold. Guard Geng, desperate for information about his lady's whereabouts, furiously beat the already dying bandit to death, but still no information about Su Tan'er’s location was revealed. Guard Geng despaired, wondering who else in the world could possibly know. Heartbroken and disoriented, Ning Yi walked aimlessly through the streets as rain poured down, oblivious to the world around him.
Suddenly, he noticed that the rain did not soak through his new clothes. A glimmer of hope sparked within him as he realized the fabric was the waterproof cloth, a unique invention known only to him and Su Tan'er. Overjoyed, he laughed into the rain and rushed to Liu Xigua's room, asking her where the waterproof cloth came from. Meanwhile, Su Tan'er was held captive at the Lou Family's cloth store, forced to oversee weaving and dyeing.
Due to her unique waterproof cloth, Lou's Old Master had not made things difficult for her. However, this didn't deter Lou Shuheng. He stumbled in, intoxicated, and confronted Su Tan'er for defending the weavers against a harsh supervisor, explaining that if they were beaten to death, no one would weave, and the bandits waiting for cloth wouldn't spare them. The supervisor, aware that the master needed her weaving skills, refrained from hitting her.
Lou Shuheng declared he would teach her "rules." Su Tan'er retorted that the Lou father and son only groveled to bandits and bullied common folk, making them unworthy of teaching anyone rules. Lou Shuheng attempted to physically harass Su Tan'er, claiming her husband, Ning Yi, had already met a tragic end, turned into "rotten flesh" by Commander Bao's Xuanwei Camp. He remarked on her "special body smell" and how long he had waited for this moment.
Just then, Ning Yi and Lu Hongti arrived. Lu Hongti quickly covered Su Tan'er's ears while Ning Yi, consumed by rage, unleashed multiple shots from his firearm into Lou Shuheng’s legs and arms, systematically disabling him before finally killing him. Upon witnessing his son's gruesome death, Lou Shuheng's father charged at Ning Yi, swearing to fight him, only to be swiftly knocked down by Lu Hongti.
After the ordeal, Su Tan'er was deeply traumatized and initially recoiled from Ning Yi's touch. Ning Yi embraced her tightly, reassuring her and carrying her back to Badao Camp. On the way, Su Tan'er finally released her pent-up emotions with a sharp cry, asking Ning Yi why he took so long to find her. Back at the camp, Su Tan'er had regained her composure, and Ning Yi tended to her wounds.
Guard Geng arrived, full of apologies for having lost her, vowing to protect them always and never leave their side again. Ning Yi reassured him, saying it wasn't his fault and that they were both responsible. He then playfully sent Geng away, wanting privacy with Su Tan'er, who admitted the time in Lin'an felt like a nightmare. Meanwhile, after Ning Yi and Lu Hongti departed, Lou Shuwan arrived at her devastated family home.
She slowly approached her father, who was still clinging to life. As he looked at her with confusion and begged for help, Lou Shuwan calmly revealed that she was the one who had withdrawn all the guards, implying she engineered their downfall. Enraged and heartbroken by her confession, her father drew his last breath.
Lou Shuwan then proceeded to bury both her father and brother outside the city, erecting tombstones for them, signaling a complete transformation from her former self, and that she harbored only hatred for them from now on. Later, Liu Xigua arrived at Ning Yi’s room with a box of provisions. Ning Yi introduced Su Tan'er as his wife.
Liu Xigua, also known as Liu Dabiao, introduced herself as the Commander of Badao Camp and assured Su Tan'er that she could simply use her name if anyone in Lin'an dared to bully her. Ning Yi then confessed to Liu Xigua that his true reason for joining Badao Camp was to find his wife.
Liu Xigua understood, stating it was only natural for a man to seek his lost wife, even expressing regret that she hadn't encouraged him to search earlier. Ning Yi shared his concern that Commander Bao Wenhan might seek revenge after the deaths of Lou father and son. Liu Xigua dismissed the threat from Bao Wenhan but did express a slight worry about Lou Shuwan possibly seeking revenge.
Chen Fan then entered, exuberantly complimenting Su Tan'er’s beauty and also offering her his name for protection in Lin'an. Liu Xigua quickly shooed Chen Fan away to allow the couple privacy, joking about him disturbing their reunion. Su Tan'er, observing the interactions, remarked to Ning Yi that the bandits were not what she had imagined, to which Ning Yi playfully asked if they were "quite lovely."
As Dong General's army approached Lin'an, the bandits imposed a strict curfew, causing widespread public anger among the citizens, who protested that Lin'an City had never had a curfew in 100 years.
Liu Xigua asked Ning Yi for suggestions for strengthening the camp's patrols, and Ning Yi advised them to continue routine patrols of existing posts and deploy an additional two hundred men: one hundred to patrol villages along the official road and another hundred to patrol the roads within a five-mile radius around the camp.
Ning Yi informed Lu Hongti that the powder magazine, crucial for the northern expedition, was heavily guarded by Fang Tianlei and could not be taken by force, requiring a strategic approach. Lu Hongti mentioned that Right Chancellor Qin had a plan for the powder magazine but the main issue was that many Secret Investigation Department members in Lin'an were scattered and unreachable.
Ning Yi offered Lu Hongti the dagger given to him by Right Chancellor Qin, suggesting it might be useful for her task of gathering the Secret Investigation Department members. However, Ning Yi expressed his desire to give up the dagger, stating that after the recent ordeal, his only wish was to safely return to Jiangning with Su Tan'er and live a peaceful life, no longer wishing to be involved.
Lu Hongti respected his decision and, without coercion, left the dagger with him. Following this, Ning Yi made a personal request to Liu Xigua, asking her to help escort his wife and friends out of Lin'an, citing the city's increasing dangers.
Liu Xigua initially probed if Ning Yi also intended to leave, but then, with a hint of sadness, assured him she was "just kidding" and, true to her word, promised to protect his wife and family, asking him to await her instructions. Ning Yi thanked her sincerely. Meanwhile, at Bao Wenhan's residence, Lou Shuwan observed someone secretly searching a room. This coincided with Bao Wenhan being summoned by Fang Tianlei, the Holy Master.
Fang Tianlei confronted Bao Wenhan directly, stating that they had worked together for over four years and known each other for over ten, questioning if he had ever treated him badly. Fang Tianlei then accused Bao of years of embezzlement and corruption, revealing that some of Bao's own men had betrayed him and brought him an account book as proof. Fang Tianlei then ordered an aide to compare the seized account book with his own records to verify the discrepancies.
