My Eternal Star Episode 14 Recap
> My Eternal Star Recap
Lin Xiaodi was determined to open her own costume design studio but first needed a workspace. She brought Lu Yuheng a plate of cut apples and massaged his shoulders, expressing concern for his well-being. When he admitted his stomach still bothered him sometimes, she feigned deep guilt, lamenting her failure to care for him and cook his meals, especially his missed lunches. She then proposed cooking his lunch daily at his studio.
Lu Yuheng hesitated, prompting Lin Xiaodi to playfully pretend to give up and leave. He quickly stopped her, explaining he wasn't rejecting her but was simply surprised. He confessed he often got hungry at noon and would welcome her cooking. He offered her a dedicated workspace in his studio so they could commute together.
Seeing her continued feigned reluctance, Lu Yuheng sweetened the deal, offering her a paid position and a large area in his studio for her costume design work, with her cooking serving as rent. He emphasized his team's irregular hours and diet, stating, "I need you," a phrase he repeated at her playful insistence, much to her secret delight. The entire Team Eternity enthusiastically welcomed Lin Xiaodi to their studio.
Lu Yuheng officially announced he was hiring her as the team's mascot, claiming they needed one. Lin Xiaodi was initially offended by being called a "mascot" and threatened to leave, but Lu Yuheng swiftly increased her proposed monthly salary to 8,000 yuan, to be settled daily, at which point she happily accepted, playfully declaring herself a "dainty, cute, and sweet mascot" at his service.
Liu Yan, having anticipated Lu Yuheng's celebratory mood, had already reserved an entire upscale restaurant for their lunch. Upon their arrival, Lin Xiaodi, initially mistaking the studio for a grand hotel due to its impressive scale, was then genuinely amazed by the cool, futuristic interior of the studio itself, which Lu Yuheng proudly stated he had personally designed.
He showed her her new workspace, strategically placed directly opposite his own, and mentioned he had prepared her essential supplies overnight, playfully adding that the costs would be deducted from her salary. Despite her protests, the team members continued to affectionately call her "Mrs. Lu." Soon after, Lin Xiaodi and Han Ruibing excitedly discovered their studio had received its first order for three male Hanfu sets and matching accessories, placed even before they had produced any finished garments.
Han Ruibing praised Lin Xiaodi's design talent. Lin Xiaodi, however, mentioned that a specific male Hanfu design in her draft was not for sale, sparking Han Ruibing's suspicion that it was for someone special. Lin Xiaodi then urgently warned Han Ruibing not to tell Zhao Muran about their new studio, fearing his disruptive presence. Just as she finished speaking, Zhao Muran walked in, revealing that he was their first client.
A jealous Lu Yuheng then appeared and, to one-up Zhao Muran, immediately placed a large order for ten team uniforms, offering to pay in full and provide mannequins. Zhao Muran escalated the rivalry by prepaying five years' worth of clothing deposits. Lin Xiaodi, exasperated by their childish bidding war, ultimately accepted Zhao Muran's long-term order.
Shortly after, another significant order came in online from a seemingly professional client, requesting a custom Hanfu blending traditional and modern elements and paying a 20,000 yuan deposit. While thrilled, Lin Xiaodi, after attempting tailoring, realized her own skills were not sufficient for the complex designs, and discussed with Han Ruibing the need to hire a professional tailor. Later, Lu Yuheng received a disheartening phone call, confirming that the "Little Star" he had been searching for was currently abroad.
He was visibly unsettled, clutching his star necklace. Liu Yan, noticing his boss's distress, asked if he was still bothered by Zhao Muran. Lu Yuheng then directly asked Liu Yan if he had known that Lin Xiaodi was not his "Little Star." Liu Yan admitted that he had realized in the ancient city that their recollections of "Little Star" were different, but he thought it best to let the misunderstanding continue.
Angered by this, Lu Yuheng was cut off by Liu Yan, who then questioned if Lu Yuheng's efforts for Lin Xiaodi were solely because he mistook her for "Little Star." Liu Yan passionately advised him to "cherish the one in front of you," warning that he had already lost one "Little Star" and should not make the same mistake with Lin Xiaodi, as some opportunities might never return.
Lu Yuheng, deep in thought, dismissed Liu Yan, who reiterated the importance of self-reflection. That night, Lin Xiaodi stayed up late cooking dumplings. Lu Yuheng found her and scolded her for her late hours, but she explained she was worried about his stomach. He tried the dumplings and admitted it was his first time eating homemade ones. She affectionately offered to make him any food he hadn't tried before.
Lu Yuheng then posed a hypothetical question: "If you lost something very important, and you thought you had finally found it, only to realize it wasn't the original thing you were looking for, what would you do?" Lin Xiaodi thoughtfully replied that it would depend on whether she liked the newly found thing, adding that "first come, first served" wouldn't matter much if she truly liked it.
The next day, Lin Xiaodi, realizing her own tailoring skills weren't sufficient for the complex designs, discussed with Han Ruibing the need for a professional tailor. Han Ruibing playfully suggested they go on a "blind date" to find one and also relax. Team member Xiaofeng overheard this, misinterpreted it as a romantic "blind date" for the two women, and excitedly reported it to Lu Yuheng and Liu Yan, exaggerating the "chance of cheating" to eighty percent.
Lu Yuheng, enraged by the news, grabbed a toy gun in frustration, prompting his teammates to try and calm him down. Meanwhile, Lin Xiaodi and Han Ruibing successfully interviewed and recruited a handsome and polite tailor named Yang Fan, who readily agreed to join their studio. Upon their return, Lin Xiaodi proudly introduced Yang Fan to the team.
Lu Yuheng, observing Yang Fan's charm, muttered to Liu Yan that Yang Fan looked like a "pretty boy" and might be trying to steal their girlfriends. As Lin Xiaodi and Yang Fan discussed their shared interest in learning from Ms. Jiang, an embroidery master, and Yang Fan offered to facilitate Lin Xiaodi's lessons, a jealous Lu Yuheng abruptly interrupted them, feigning annoyance at Lin Xiaodi's messy desk.
He then took out his phone and called Ms. Jiang directly, securing a lesson appointment for Lin Xiaodi for the following day. Lin Xiaodi questioned his possessive behavior, but he dismissed it as a minor matter. She affirmed her need to pursue her own work, though Lu Yuheng suspected she was merely using it as an excuse to flirt with Yang Fan. Lu Yuheng, increasingly "sour," complained about her constant mention of Yang Fan's name.
When she defended Yang Fan's talents, including his skill in fruit carving, Lu Yuheng, determined to outdo him, declared he could do it too. Despite Lin Xiaodi's protests about him wasting carrots, he rushed into the kitchen. He soon emerged, proudly presenting a carved carrot in the shape of the "Eternal Star," a unique design he had seen in Lin Xiaodi's draft. As he held it, Liu Yan's earlier words about not missing out on Lin Xiaodi echoed in his mind.
