Lu Yuheng felt a blush creep up his neck as he recalled the intimate moment in the living room when Lin Xiaodi accidentally fell onto him. He was so distracted that when Liu Yan called, discussing team matters and dorm preparations, he responded absently. Lu Yuheng arranged for extended training that evening and requested updates on other teams' battle statistics and the recruitment of substitute players.
Sensing Lu Yuheng’s unusual fatigue, Liu Yan playfully probed about what he and “Little Fairy” had been up to, but Lu Yuheng abruptly ended the call. Later, Liu Yan noticed Lu Yuheng was still distracted, even putting sugar in his usually unsweetened coffee. Lu Yuheng admitted something was on his mind, pretending to ask for a friend.
He described his friend's "weird symptoms": a racing heart, a burning sensation when near a particular girl, visions of her, and a strange yearning to be with her even though he used to dislike her. Liu Yan, seeing right through the façade, asked if this "friend" felt an uncontrollable urge to touch the girl's hand. Lu Yuheng vehemently denied such a thing, insisting his friend wasn't that type. Liu Yan concluded that Lu Yuheng’s “friend” was suffering from lovesickness.
Around the same time, Lin Xiaodi confided in Han Ruibing with similar questions about a "friend." She described her friend's heart beating strangely when seeing a certain guy, and how she was now willing to sacrifice more for him despite their past adversarial relationship. Lin Xiaodi even wondered if her friend had a masochistic tendency, or if the "feverish" feeling, racing heart, and constant replays of shared moments were normal.
Han Ruibing immediately diagnosed Lin Xiaodi’s "friend" with lovesickness, much to Lin Xiaodi's embarrassment and denial. Both Lu Yuheng and Lin Xiaodi stubbornly refused to acknowledge their romantic feelings. Meanwhile, Lin Xiaodi, determined to learn more about traditional culture for her Hanfu designs, decided to visit Ms. Jiang Menghua, a renowned master of Suzhou embroidery whom Ding Yuan had introduced. Han Ruibing accompanied her.
Upon arrival at Ms. Jiang Menghua's home in the old town, they were met by an apprentice who curtly informed them that Ms. Jiang Menghua saw no visitors. Despite Lin Xiaodi's sincere pleas to learn and Han Ruibing's persistent attempts to persuade the apprentice, they were turned away. Han Ruibing grew visibly frustrated, wanting to force their way in, but Lin Xiaodi calmed her, acknowledging they would have to try again later.
In the gaming world, Team Eternity achieved the first kill of a new hidden boss and had already secured sixty percent of the new server's first kills, making them the top rival for other teams. At Jiesa E-Sports, Su Nian commended Lu Yuheng's team, calling him a "terrifying opponent," but Shao Hai dismissed their success. He accused Su Nian of favoring Lu Yuheng and told her to join Team Eternity if she was so impressed.
Su Nian, angered, declared that Jiesa would inevitably be ruined by his attitude. Shao Hai then angrily pushed his team to train harder. Dealing with Zhao Muran's latest incident, Zhao Jinxuan received news from his PR company that they would manage the public opinion. Hua pointed out that despite his tough exterior, Zhao Jinxuan always protected Zhao Muran, even secretly securing his new period drama contract.
Zhao Jinxuan was frustrated that Zhao Muran had ruined the contract and unprofessionally left the signing ceremony. Although Zhao Jinxuan initially insisted Zhao Muran should bear the financial responsibility for the liquidated damages, Hua persuaded him to cover the costs himself, reminding him that Zhao Muran was his cousin. Zhao Jinxuan agreed but instructed Hua to suspend Zhao Muran's work for a period to teach him a lesson.
Hua also mentioned Lin Xiaodi's disappointment about being turned away by the embroidery master. Zhao Jinxuan recognized the master's name, Ms. Jiang, and realized he knew her. Seeing Lu Yuheng and Lin Xiaodi struggling to express their burgeoning feelings, Liu Yan and Han Ruibing decided to play matchmakers. They concocted a "fake relationship" plan to spur their friends into action.
Liu Yan then told Lu Yuheng about Lin Xiaodi's failed visit to Ms. Jiang Menghua, adding that Lu Yuheng, having helped Ms. Jiang Menghua before, might be able to assist Lin Xiaodi. He saw this as a sign that "even God is on their side." Liu Yan invited Lu Yuheng to the old town on Saturday. When Lu Yuheng refused, Liu Yan then announced that he and Han Ruibing were "dating" and would be going, along with Lin Xiaodi.
He emphasized how lonely Lin Xiaodi would be as a "third wheel" to their "honeymoon phase." This finally piqued Lu Yuheng's interest. He then discreetly approached Lin Xiaodi, who initially declined due to previous disappointment and her need to work. Lu Yuheng, however, offered to cover all her expenses, which convinced Lin Xiaodi to join. On Saturday, the four friends explored the old town.
When Liu Yan questioned Lu Yuheng's presence after his initial refusal, Lu Yuheng falsely claimed that Lin Xiaodi had "cried and begged" him to come, a story Liu Yan found hard to believe. As they explored, Lu Yuheng paid for Lin Xiaodi's purchases, clarifying to Liu Yan that only Lin Xiaodi's items were on his tab, implying Liu Yan should pay for Han Ruibing's.
Han Ruibing, meanwhile, privately told Lin Xiaodi about her plan to "take down" Liu Yan that evening and asked Lin Xiaodi to create opportunities for them to be alone. Lu Yuheng, having overheard their conversation, feigned feeling unwell, leaning on Lin Xiaodi and indirectly assisting Han Ruibing's plan. Han Ruibing realized that Lu Yuheng was aware of their scheme and was subtly cooperating. Back at their hotel suite, the group decided to play a game called "I Never."
Han Ruibing started by asking short-haired individuals to put down a finger, targeting Lu Yuheng and Liu Yan. Lin Xiaodi then asked those who didn't like to smile to put down a finger, to which Lu Yuheng responded. The game quickly devolved into a series of verbal jabs and playful betrayals. Liu Yan revealed his past crushes, resulting in Han Ruibing jokingly hitting him.
Lu Yuheng retaliated by exposing Han Ruibing's past crush on a mixed-race man in the UK and a confession email she had sent using his account, which flustered Han Ruibing. She then subtly targeted Lu Yuheng and Lin Xiaodi by asking if their "lovesick friends" were related, noticing their similar symptoms. This intensified the mutual teasing.
Han Ruibing mentioning her time studying abroad triggered Lu Yuheng's memories of Lin Xiaodi, recalling how she loved making Hanfu as a child and promised to make him a set when they grew up. To seize control of the game, Lu Yuheng boldly declared that he would ask all subsequent questions. Liu Yan protested, but Han Ruibing interjected, agreeing on the condition that Lu Yuheng, who usually abstained from alcohol, drink two cans of beer.
To everyone's surprise, Lu Yuheng finished both cans without hesitation. For his first question, he asked those who liked "a little star" to put down a finger. Both he and Lin Xiaodi put down a finger. This sparked a memory for Lu Yuheng: a childhood moment with Lin Xiaodi where she called him her "little star" at the orphanage, confirming his belief that she was the little girl he remembered.
For his second question, Lu Yuheng asked anyone who had made an "important promise" to someone to put down a finger. Again, both he and Lin Xiaodi put down a finger, unlocking another shared childhood memory: a pinky promise where Lu Yuheng had vowed to marry her when they grew up. With two fingers down, Liu Yan declared Lu Yuheng the loser of the round.
