Song Qingchun sat outside Su Zhinian’s house, waiting for him to explain what had happened, growing increasingly annoyed by the mosquitoes. Inside, Su Zhinian had fallen asleep at his desk. When he finally woke to the late hour, he realized Song Qingchun wasn't in the house and rushed outside to find her sitting on the steps, visibly upset. He immediately draped his coat over her shoulders.
He sincerely apologized and asked her to grant him some time, promising to tell her everything. He helped Song Qingchun back to her room and lovingly prepared some ginger coke for her. It was then he discovered she was running a fever. Su Zhinian told her to rest and ensured she took her medicine. As he prepared to leave, Song Qingchun pulled him back, and he ended up sitting by her bed, holding her gently all night.
The next morning, Song Qingchun woke to find him still in the same position, deeply touched, and her feelings for him intensified. As Su Zhinian stirred awake, Song Qingchun playfully reminded him of his promise to take her to see a meteor shower. Su Zhinian, though concerned about her recent recovery and a foggy weather forecast, eventually agreed, always wanting to fulfill her wishes. Meanwhile, Chen Han, still viewing Su Zhinian as a nuisance, had his subordinates investigate him.
His subordinate reported that as a child, Su Zhinian had been in a car accident that killed his parents, leaving him an orphan. He also underwent psychotherapy for delusional disorder, believing he possessed superpowers similar to those in movies, though he recovered within a year. Chen Han found this increasingly intriguing, dismissing the superpower belief as mere delusion. When it was time to go to the supermarket, Su Zhinian insisted Song Qingchun dress warmly, given her recent fever.
Despite her initial protest about not feeling cold and her stylish, light clothing, he made her change into a trench coat, much to her exasperation. Inside the warm supermarket, Song Qingchun tried to take off the coat, but Su Zhinian quickly buttoned it up and then lifted her into a shopping cart, pushing her around as they picked out groceries.
This display of affection drew whispers and amused glances from other shoppers, making Song Qingchun blush and hide her face behind a bag. Unable to resist Song Qingchun’s desire, Su Zhinian took her to the mountains to watch the meteor shower. To ensure she wouldn't get cold, he bundled her up completely.
As they waited, he told her the tragic Greek myth of Orion, Poseidon’s son and a great hunter, and Artemis, Apollo’s sister and the Goddess of the Moon, who fell deeply in love. Apollo, fearing Artemis would neglect her duties, tricked her into shooting Orion, whom she couldn't recognize through the sun's glare reflecting off the sea.
Overcome with grief, she could no longer light the night sky, but Zeus, pitying the lovers, placed Orion in the heavens as a constellation to rise and set with Artemis, forever keeping watch over her from a distance. Song Qingchun reflected on the story, remarking that passionate love often leads to deeper pain for those closest to you, yet true love is uncontrollable. Su Zhinian then reminded her that the predicted time for the meteor shower was approaching.
He suggested she rest inside while he retrieved some food from the car. Upon his return, he found her asleep and, not wanting to wake her, quietly watched over her. When Song Qingchun woke, feeling she had missed the event, she was disappointed. Su Zhinian explained that the weather forecast had been correct; fog had unexpectedly rolled into the mountains, obscuring the view. She accused him of jinxing it, but he then handed her a remote control.
Moments later, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky, simulating a meteor shower. Deeply moved, Song Qingchun confessed her feelings, stating that as long as she knew he was the one protecting her, that was enough. As an actual meteor streaked across the sky, they both made a wish: each hoping the other liked them too. Su Zhinian playfully refused to tell her his wish, though Song Qingchun claimed she knew it anyway.
Concerned about Chen Han, Su Zhinian instructed his subordinate via a phone call to gather all of Chen Han’s information, especially his activities since returning to the country, and to do so as quickly as possible. Simultaneously, Chen Han's subordinate informed him that Su Zhinian was investigating him and might uncover their fabricated financial statements or Chen Han's connection to the Song family.
Deciding it was time to act, Chen Han instructed his subordinate to contact Tang Nuan (Qin Yinan's girlfriend) and send him the edited videos he had prepared. Later, Song Qingchun visited her father in the hospital and was relieved to hear from the doctor that he was showing positive signs of recovery, largely thanks to Dr. Yan Yuan’s help.
She then sought out Yan Yuan, asking him to reveal Su Zhinian’s past, believing that because Su Zhinian liked her and Yan Yuan wanted Su Zhinian to be happy, he would tell her. Song Qingchun admitted her past indifference and her ignorance of Su Zhinian’s life until she learned he was an orphan.
Yan Yuan, seeing her sincerity, recounted how Su Zhinian, at the age of three, was involved in a car accident that killed his parents, leaving him to grow up without family warmth. This trauma made him afraid of warmth, unable to show kindness, and fearful of losing it all again. Yan Yuan described Su Zhinian as tough on the outside but soft-hearted, a man of action rather than words.
Song Qingchun affirmed she had seen his gentle side with orphans and his quiet kindness in providing new jobs for dismissed employees. Yan Yuan remarked that her perception proved Su Zhinian’s unspoken efforts were not in vain. He then confessed his past dislike for her, viewing her as reckless and troublesome to Su Zhinian, but now he was willing to share these details because he recognized her genuine affection for Su Zhinian.
When Song Qingchun then brought up Su Zhinian's "superpower," humorously asking if he was an alien, Yan Yuan quickly evaded the topic and left. In their online game, Song Qingchun’s character asked Su Zhinian’s character if he wanted to run daily missions. He agreed, then asked her how she planned to celebrate the upcoming Qixi Festival.
She shared her advice for wooing a girlfriend on Qixi: pretend to forget the holiday, then surprise her with a meal at a restaurant and a visit to a memorable place. Su Zhinian decided to follow this advice for his own confession. On Qixi Festival, Yan Yuan expressed concern to Su Zhinian about his plan to use his superpower for a grand confession, as his condition had become less stable. He suggested Su Zhinian stick to simpler romantic gestures.
Later that day, Yan Yuan took Cheng Qingcong to the orphanage where he grew up. There, he revealed his past, explaining how his mother abandoned him for love, which made him fear true commitment and unable to give his heart in relationships. He confessed that Su Zhinian, who once saved him from a fire, was his only true friend, like a family member. While Yan Yuan and Cheng Qingcong were out, a flower vendor approached them.
Yan Yuan declined a flower for himself, but then, taking a phone call from Su Zhinian, Cheng Qingcong bought a flower at Su Zhinian's suggestion and had the vendor give it to Yan Yuan, wishing her a Happy Qixi Festival. On the call, Su Zhinian explained to Yan Yuan that he intended to tell Song Qingchun everything, including his superpower. Yan Yuan cautioned him, fearing it might scare her away.
Su Zhinian, however, felt it was crucial to be honest, believing it was the last step in their journey and something he owed her, even if he couldn't fully grasp her thoughts. He knew how he wanted to love her.
He also advised Yan Yuan to stop denying his own feelings, mentioning that "his (Su Zhinian's) capable assistant" had already 'woken him (Yan Yuan) up' to them, and that he (Su Zhinian) had given "her" the day off to enjoy the festival, implying Yan Yuan should pursue his own love interest. Later that day, Song Qingchun, having learned from Cheng Qingcong that Su Zhinian intended to confess, decided to give him a chance.
Su Zhinian arrived, fabricating a story about Yan Yuan and Cheng Qingcong cancelling their dinner plans at Jinling Restaurant, leaving a reservation unused. Though Song Qingchun saw through the "poor excuse," she played along, agreeing to go with him. At Jinling, she still waited for a surprise. She overheard two waitresses discussing how Su Zhinian had previously arranged a lifetime VIP card lucky draw event to make her happy, realizing he had liked her for a long time.
After their dinner, Su Zhinian led Song Qingchun to a park. Confused, Song Qingchun questioned why he brought her to a place with swans on Qixi, joking it was not Children's Day. Su Zhinian then claimed he forgot his phone and asked her to wait at the bottom of the stairs while he retrieved it. Meanwhile, Yan Yuan, still concerned about Su Zhinian's superpower, rode his bicycle to intervene, leaving Cheng Qingcong alone at the restaurant.
He found Su Zhinian in the park and confronted him. Su Zhinian, seemingly teasing, suggested Yan Yuan was there to offer comfort in case his confession failed, to which Su Zhinian himself retorted, saying he didn't need a "third wheel" (Yan Yuan). Yan Yuan, calling Su Zhinian a "guy who forgets friends for love," turned to leave, but Su Zhinian stopped him.
