Liu Ruochen, initially appearing subdued, seized the moment when Gao Ruwen approached him, believing him to be incapacitated, to launch a counterattack. As the two men struggled, Fan Fan quickly went to rescue Little Fan. Liu Ruochen urged Fan Fan and Little Fan to leave immediately, assuring them that the police were on their way and that they shouldn't worry about him. Fan Fan, however, heard a cry of pain after Liu Ruochen was struck forcefully by Gao Ruwen.
Unable to abandon him, she instructed Little Fan to run home through a nearby door, promising to follow right after. Little Fan, frightened, was reluctant, but Fan Fan insisted. As Gao Ruwen held a stick against Liu Ruochen's throat, Fan Fan re-entered the fight, hitting Gao Ruwen on the head with another stick. Gao Ruwen retaliated by choking Fan Fan, while Liu Ruochen, already weakened, struggled against him.
As Fan Fan’s vision blurred, memories of her time with Liu Ruochen flashed before her eyes. Just as their lives seemed to hang in the balance, police sirens blared outside, responding to Qin Yang's call. Fan Fan then lost consciousness. The scene then shifted to 2024, where Fan Fan suddenly awoke, calling out Liu Ruochen’s name as if from a nightmare. Her parents were by her bedside, relieved to see her conscious.
They explained that she had suffered injuries from a gas leak explosion at a neighbor's house the previous year, and it was Liu Ruochen who had saved her. Fan Fan was disoriented, struggling to grasp that the current date was November 1, 2025, and that she had been in a coma for almost a year. Her parents added that Liu Ruochen had visited her every single day during her recovery.
Fan Fan, still confused, insisted that she had gone back to 2012, met a 24-year-old Liu Ruochen, and even saved her family and herself from danger. Her parents, though not fully understanding, patiently assured her that everything she said was true. Later, Liu Ruochen took Fan Fan to an amusement park. He attentively put his coat around her, noting she was "sick and wearing so little," and gently stroked her hair.
Fan Fan remarked that she didn't feel sick but rather felt like she had been dreaming. Liu Ruochen confessed that he too had experienced a very long and beautiful dream. He told her he dreamt of his 24-year-old self and that she was in that world. In his dream, he had sworn to marry her. He then sincerely declared his love for her, and they shared a loving kiss.
Back at home, Fan Fan’s parents encouraged her to relax and wait for food, hinting that someone was cooking something delicious. To Fan Fan’s surprise, Liu Ruochen emerged from the kitchen, proudly presenting a plate of stir-fried beef. Everyone tasted it, offering polite praise, with Fan Fan exclaiming it was "so good." When Fan Fan offered to get more, her parents quickly intervened.
Her father declared himself "professional" and went to cook with her mother, subtly saving everyone from more of Liu Ruochen's cooking. Liu Ruochen then tasted his own dish and realized it wasn't very good. Fan Fan noticed he was still wearing the rubber band she had given him previously, a gesture he confirmed, cherishing it as a gift from her. Fan Fan and Liu Ruochen revisited the aquarium, a place holding special significance for them from their past.
They enjoyed a romantic candlelight dinner, with Fan Fan looking elegant in a beautiful dress. They laughed and shared a kiss. In an epilogue, Qin Yang and Yi Xiao were by the sea. Yi Xiao asked Qin Yang why he liked Fan Fan. He replied that she was like an unsolvable physics problem.
Qin Yang then asked Yi Xiao why she liked Liu Ruochen, to which she answered that he gave her a sense of protection, and she was grateful to him. They both agreed that love isn't always about having all the answers. Yi Xiao observed that they were quite similar, both "pitiful." She then asked Qin Yang if he truly believed in parallel time and space.
He affirmed his belief, adding that in such a world, he might be the one with Fan Fan. Yi Xiao called him narcissistic but then pondered that if parallel universes existed, she, too, would find her own happiness. She suggested they pretend to be Liu Ruochen and Fan Fan for just one day. Qin Yang, after a moment of thought, seemed to agree. Qin Yang bought an ice pop for Yi Xiao, who playfully remarked that he was too slow.
Yi Xiao reflected on how quickly the day had passed and thanked Qin Yang as he reassured her that she would find happiness, perhaps having already fulfilled her desires in a parallel time and space.
