Yu Li Qing, driving aggressively, accused Lu Fanfan of killing her "Nan Nan" before pressing the accelerator, aiming for Lu Fanfan. Just as Yu Li Qing's car was about to hit Lu Fanfan, Qin Yang suddenly drove his car in front of hers, taking the brunt of the collision. He was injured but managed to slowly stand up, confirming Lu Fanfan was safe before losing consciousness.
Lu Fanfan rushed to him, calling his name repeatedly and urging Liu Ruochen, who had just arrived, to help him. Liu Ruochen immediately called for an ambulance. Shen Shijia also arrived at the scene, desperately calling for his wife, Yu Li Qing, to hold on. Both Qin Yang and Yu Li Qing were rushed to the hospital. Lu Fanfan was overcome with self-blame. Liu Ruochen was deeply concerned, while Shen Shijia appeared not just worried, but also frightened.
After Yu Li Qing's surgery, a doctor informed Shen Shijia that despite their best efforts, they could not save her. Distraught and refusing to believe it, Shen Shijia lashed out, accusing Liu Ruochen and Lu Fanfan of causing her death. Lu Fanfan, in anguish, confessed that Yu Li Qing had arranged to meet her. Doctors quickly confirmed Lu Fanfan was physically unharmed, having only passed out due to intense emotional stress. Later that night, a grief-stricken Shen Shijia returned home. He spoke to whom he believed was his son, Wen Wen, expressing his sorrow. However, "Wen Wen" chillingly declared that Yu Li Qing was not fit to be a mother and Shen Shijia was not fit to be a father, suggesting he should join her in death.
Shen Shijia realized this was not his son, and was then hypnotized by him. This person was 2024 Gao Ruwen, who had traveled back in time. 2024 Gao Ruwen revealed that he was responsible for manipulating Yu Li Qing, making her believe Lu Fanfan was responsible for the death of her child. This manipulation led Yu Li Qing to attempt to crash her car into Lu Fanfan.
He explained that hypnosis, at an advanced level, allows one to control people's minds. He then introduced a new "wishing game." During this revelation, the 2012 version of Gao Ruwen also appeared, confused about his father's condition and demanding to know who the newcomer was. 2024 Gao Ruwen clarified he was his future self, returned to punish those who had harmed them. He told his younger self that he knew all his actions but found him "too naive."
He reminded 2012 Gao Ruwen that he originally learned hypnosis to explore the human mind, calling it "childish," and reiterated that the true power of advanced hypnosis was mind control for personal advantage. Meanwhile, Lu Fanfan awoke in the hospital, with Liu Ruochen by her side. He assured her that Qin Yang's surgery was successful, he was out of danger, and would soon wake up. Liu Ruochen apologized for allowing her to meet Yu Li Qing alone.
Lu Fanfan, reflecting on her actions, wondered if they had been too hasty, admitting that she, too, would likely not suspect a loved one based on a stranger's words. Liu Ruochen countered that preventing 2024 Gao Ruwen from committing future crimes justified their actions. He embraced her, but Lu Fanfan, feeling responsible for the recent misfortunes, decided she needed to distance herself from everyone for their safety.
She asked Liu Ruochen to get her some food, intending to use the opportunity to separate from him for a while. Qin Yang also woke up, his first words calling out Lu Fanfan's name. Zhu Yixiao, who had been keeping vigil, informed Liu Ruochen that Qin Yang was awake. Liu Ruochen returned to Qin Yang's room.
Qin Yang shared that he had been investigating Gao Ruwen's past at the orphanage and had gathered evidence linking Gao Ruwen to an incident involving another child. He was on his way to inform them when he saw Yu Li Qing's car speeding towards Lu Fanfan and acted without thinking. He then asked about Lu Fanfan, to which Liu Ruochen vaguely replied that she was "okay" and needed time to herself.
Qin Yang sensed an argument, but Liu Ruochen assured him they would handle it and advised Qin Yang to focus on his recovery. Lu Fanfan returned to her residence and packed her belongings. She reflected that she had returned to save Liu Ruochen, but her presence had only led to Yu Li Qing's death and Qin Yang's injury. She felt her selfishness was causing harm and decided to withdraw.
As she left with her suitcase, she found Liu Ruochen waiting outside her old residence. She handed him money for rent and firmly told him not to disturb her, moving back to her own apartment. She regretted her actions but felt she had no other choice. The next morning, as Lu Fanfan stepped out to take out the trash, she discovered Liu Ruochen had spent the entire night waiting outside her new apartment, still seeking answers for her departure. In her heart, Lu Fanfan admitted she still struggled to resist his presence.
