Tian Tian, a vibrant illustrator and aspiring designer toy artist, holds a strong belief that dreams serve as guides, and hard work leads to good fortune. She enthusiastically approaches her interview at Qiansheng Group, a major toy company in Asia now venturing into the niche designer toy market. Meanwhile, Liu Xilai, the meticulous President of Qiansheng Group, is a workaholic who plans his time down to the minute, believing that mastering time is key to controlling one's destiny.

Having brought the company to unprecedented heights in less than two years, he often appears cold and wears sunglasses. He is also known for his peculiar aversion to the color red, a condition advised by a master who stated gold brings him prosperity while red brings him ill fortune.

Consequently, Qiansheng Group enforces a strict no-red policy for all interviewees, even extending to lipstick and accessories, which Tian Tian finds quite odd, especially since her interview piece is a red toy. Liu Xilai himself uses special red-light filtering sunglasses to manage this condition. During her interview, Tian Tian is dismayed to discover that Kevin, the Design Director and her interviewer, has plagiarized her "Thorned Roses Cute Pets series" illustration, created three years prior.

She confronts Kevin, pointing out the striking similarities in his design of a cutesy stone lion, particularly the "thorned roses" element, which she clarifies contains a hidden "Tian" logo as her unique easter egg. Kevin, flustered and angered by her accusations, dismisses her claims as "false accusations" and "making a scene," having security forcibly remove her from the premises. Infuriated by the injustice, Tian Tian vows to fight for her rights, comparing the plagiarism to having her child stolen.

She is subsequently blocked from entering the Qiansheng Group building, so she decides to wait outside, determined to confront Liu Xilai. As Liu Xilai arrives, Tian Tian intercepts him, explaining Kevin's plagiarism. Liu Xilai, indifferent, dismisses her concerns, stating his time is too valuable for such trivial matters. Tian Tian retorts that a CEO who tolerates plagiarism will lead his company to ruin. Frustrated, she throws her red designer toy at him.

In his attempt to dodge, Liu Xilai’s special red-light filtering sunglasses fall off, and the sight of the red toy triggers a severe dizzy spell, causing him to collapse. Tian Tian is startled and initially thinks Liu Xilai is deliberately faking the incident to frame her. He is rushed to the hospital, though he is not seriously injured. Kevin tries to blame Tian Tian, accusing her of ill-behavior, assaulting Liu Xilai, and framing him.

However, Liu Xilai, after regaining consciousness, instructs his Assistant Tang to investigate all materials related to the plagiarized designer toy. Assistant Tang notes that it has been a long time since Liu Xilai fainted from seeing red. Later, Kevin calls Tian Tian, revealing he knows her personal details, including her family background from her resume, and attempts to threaten her future, warning her to think about her prospects before stirring up trouble.

Tian Tian defiantly rejects his intimidation, declaring plagiarism is her bottom line and she will defend her rights until the very end. Kevin then tries to bribe her with money to drop the issue, but she adamantly refuses the offer. Tian Tian confides in her roommate and entertainment journalist friend, Rose, about her difficulty accessing Liu Xilai, especially since she's been blacklisted from Qiansheng Group.

Rose, confident in her investigative skills, promises to find Liu Xilai's schedule to help Tian Tian get her justice. Liu Xilai’s uncle arranges a blind date for him with Qian Qian, a renowned campus beauty. Liu Xilai, however, is completely uninterested, finding her attempts at conversation tedious. He sarcastically suggests she converse with his company's new AI robot, offering her a discount. Qian Qian, insulted, exits.

Tian Tian, armed with Rose's information, appears at the same private club, disguised as a job applicant. She confronts Liu Xilai again, loudly demanding justice and conspicuously displaying a T-shirt emblazoned with "Say no to plagiarism" in large red letters. The sight of the red text triggers another dizzy spell in Liu Xilai. As he sways, he leans towards Tian Tian, who initially thinks he is faking the incident again.

To his astonishment, upon physical contact with Tian Tian, his dizziness immediately vanishes. He quickly checks, finding that as long as he touches her, he no longer succumbs to red. While Liu Xilai is preoccupied with this discovery, Tian Tian passionately points out the intricate details of the plagiarism, feeling frustrated that he seems distracted by her every attempt to explain with repeated comments of "unbelievable."

Liu Xilai assures her he was listening intently and promises a prompt and fair investigation. Tian Tian warns him not to be perfunctory, or she will resort to legal action and media exposure. After she leaves, Liu Xilai marvels at this "miracle" and asks Assistant Tang to schedule an appointment with Doctor Li.
