Zheng Dingding and Ning Weijin went fishing by the river. After a long wait with no fish biting, Dingding grew impatient, but Ning Weijin remained relaxed. He confessed he didn't know how to fish and simply wanted to enjoy the rare peaceful time by her side. Dingding, finding his directness charming, offered him sunscreen after he extended his arm for her to apply it.
When a fish finally bit her line, both reached for the rod, with Ning Weijin embracing Dingding from behind. Dingding nervously held the fish basket, and in the excitement, the fish unfortunately got away. Meanwhile, Gao Ren was lounging by the swimming pool, enjoying observing women in swimsuits, when Ning Weixuan approached him.
He tried to avoid her by covering his face with a hat, but she playfully splashed ice water on his stomach and insisted he join her for a swim. She boldly stated she would accompany him in whatever he wanted to do. Gao Ren, seizing the opportunity to tease her, said he just wanted to sleep. Ning Weixuan shyly turned away and called him a "rascal."
Gao Ren then advanced towards her, teasing that if he kept refusing her persistent invitations, people would think he was incapable. Startled, Ning Weixuan stumbled backward and fell into the pool, shouting at him. Gao Ren simply embraced his "jerk" status, and Ning Weixuan vowed she wouldn't let him go. At Wen Zixin's home, a leaky water pipe prompted her to call Chen Xun for help.
Despite his initial confidence, Chen Xun failed to repair it and ended up soaked when the pipe burst again. Wen Zixin offered him his old clothes, claiming she kept them as pajamas. As he changed, Chen Xun reminisced about a time when Dingding, to save money, had successfully fixed a similar leak herself. He realized Dingding wasn't naturally adept but had learned various skills specifically to assist him.
He expressed deep regret over losing such a wonderful woman, acknowledging that she had moved on and found happiness with someone else. Wen Zixin, eager to prove herself, promised to learn quickly to be his assistant. However, Chen Xun revealed he was already interviewing new administrative assistants, believing a professional was needed.
Wen Zixin, unwilling to give up, pleaded for a month to demonstrate her capabilities, reminding him of the chance he once had to start over with Dingding, implying he should extend the same courtesy to her. Chen Xun reluctantly agreed to give her one month. Back at the resort, Ning Weixuan, as part of her plan to set up Dingding and Ning Weijin, feigned a sprained ankle, calling Dingding to ask her and her brother to pick her up.
Gao Ren, though outwardly dismissive of Ning Weixuan's tricks, showed visible concern for her, even pricking his finger with a barbecue skewer in his distraction. Dingding and Ning Weijin followed the address Ning Weixuan sent, which led them to an increasingly remote area, making Dingding nervous. Ning Weijin held her hand, reassuring her. They soon arrived at a beautifully decorated picnic spot filled with flowers and balloons, meticulously arranged by Ning Weixuan.
Ning Weijin led Dingding to a heart-shaped picnic area and confessed that Ning Weixuan's injury was a fabrication. Surprisingly, Dingding wasn't angry; instead, she shared how profoundly her life had changed in just over a month—from her fibroma diagnosis and breakup with Chen Xun to starting her own studio.
She admitted that she would have been overwhelmed if not for the support of Ning Weijin and her friends, and this was the first time someone had put such heartfelt effort into her. As Ning Weijin leaned in to kiss her, a sudden twinge from her surgical wound made Dingding flinch. He offered to examine it, but she became shy, noting that their relationship was different now.
Undeterred, Ning Weijin pushed her down and forcibly kissed her, leaving Dingding blushing but less embarrassed. Their romantic interlude was cut short by a frantic call from Gao Ren, who reported that Ning Weixuan was genuinely missing and her phone was out of service. He had already started searching in the forest. Ning Weijin and Dingding immediately joined the search, splitting up with their colleagues, Yunsheng and Lei. Gao Ren eventually found Ning Weixuan.
She had indeed sprained her ankle while searching for a five-petal lilac, believing that finding one would lead her to her true love. She had also broken her phone. Gao Ren carried her back to the hotel on his back. Despite her injury, Ning Weixuan was secretly pleased, pointing out that his voice had changed with worry when he found her, a sign of genuine concern. Gao Ren, however, maintained he only cared for her as Ning Weijin's sister.
Later, as the team-building activity concluded, Ning Weixuan refused to get off Gao Ren's back, feigning leg cramps. To ensure Ning Weijin and Dingding had alone time, she arranged for their colleagues, Yunsheng and Lei, to leave in one car and Ning Weijin to drive Dingding home. This left Gao Ren no choice but to take Ning Weixuan back.
Witnessing Gao Ren's despairing expression, Dingding remarked on how Ning Weixuan had managed to conquer the usually glib Gao Ren, finding them a surprisingly good match. Later, Wen Zixin asked Dingding to meet. Ning Weijin insisted on accompanying Dingding, reminding her of the last time she met Wen Zixin alone, which resulted in her wound reopening. As her "exclusive doctor," he felt responsible for her well-being.
During their meeting, Wen Zixin sought Dingding's advice on how to be a good assistant to Chen Xun. Ning Weijin sat at a distance, unconcerned with their conversation but keeping a watchful eye on Wen Zixin to ensure she didn't upset Dingding. Afterward, Wen Zixin reported back to Chen Xun that Dingding was not only more confident but also in a confirmed relationship with Ning Weijin, who had even accompanied her to their meeting.
Chen Xun was visibly agitated by this news. His assistant, Cat, urged him to pursue Dingding, but Chen Xun angrily dismissed the idea, stating he shouldn't interfere with Dingding's new life. Cat, frustrated, blamed Ning Weijin for Chen Xun's unhappiness. Despite a highly qualified candidate interviewing for the administrative assistant position, Chen Xun, still preoccupied with the news, quickly dismissed her, using his promise to give Wen Zixin a month as an excuse not to hire anyone new.
Upon seeing Dingding's social media post about staying overnight during the team building, Xiao Feng visited her to inquire about her relationship with Ning Weijin. Dingding downplayed their intimacy, describing their kiss as merely a "touch." She admitted she hadn't agreed to be his girlfriend, fearing that committing might shatter the current "beautiful illusion" she held in her heart, making her hesitant to take the next step.
Xiao Feng, referencing "Schrodinger's cat," advised her to take a leap of faith to discover if the outcome would be good or bad, emphasizing that prolonged indecision would only lead to regret. That evening, as Ning Weijin arrived home, the "big-chested beauty" who had previously approached him at the hospital confronted him again. Claiming severe chest pain, she demanded a private examination.
Ning Weijin struggled to get her to release his arm and threatened to call the police, which prompted her to quickly leave. Unbeknownst to them, someone had secretly photographed the woman embracing Ning Weijin. The next day, Ning Weijin received a mysterious letter. He inadvertently included it with patient treatment records he asked his assistant, Ding Yang, to deliver to the director.
Soon after, the director summoned Ning Weijin, showing him the photo of the woman embracing him, accompanied by a threatening note: "If you want to keep these photos a secret, stay away from Zheng Dingding." Ning Weijin explained the woman was a patient who had caused a disturbance at the hospital and suspected she was being used by someone else.
The director warned him about the severe implications for his career, particularly his ongoing application for the "Breast Cancer 1/2 project," which could be jeopardized. The director promised to temporarily suppress the issue but stressed that Ning Weijin must quickly identify the mastermind behind the scheme, as continued escalation could damage the hospital's reputation and leave even the director powerless to help him.
