After Su Jianan and Lu Boyan's heated argument, Lu Boyan grabs her face, presses her against the wall, and kisses her, desperately trying to confirm that they are legitimately a couple. Su Jianan, unable to bear such unreasonable treatment, confronts him, asking, "Who do you think I am?" She feels he has no respect for her, having just secretly met Han Ruoxi in Yong'an and now acting intimately with her.
Lu Boyan, anxious, tells her to look clearly that she is not Han Ruoxi, and asks if she minds the recent news about him. Su Jianan defiantly states that she doesn't care if he wants to be with Han Ruoxi or anyone else, reiterating that she has told him this since their marriage and that he should leave her alone. She also tells him not to constantly question her about Jiang Shaokai.
Lu Boyan then challenges her, asking if she plans to go to Jiang Shaokai. She retorts that who she sees has nothing to do with him, adding that she also won't care how long he wants to linger with Han Ruoxi, and that from now on, their contract marriage means they should have nothing to do with each other. Lu Boyan calls out to her name as she leaves.
The next morning, Lu Boyan tries to explain yesterday's events to Su Jianan, knocking on her door and calling her name. When no one answers, he asks Xu Bo if Mrs. Lu has come out of her room, to which Xu Bo replies she went back to her room after breakfast and hasn't come out since.
Lu Boyan then discovers she has left the house through the window, leaving behind the black card he gave her, realizing she ran away from home. After leaving Lu Boyan's home, Su Jianan goes to Luo Xiaoxi's place. Luo Xiaoxi exclaims loudly that Lu Boyan tried to force a kiss on Su Jianan, to which Su Jianan urges her to lower her voice.
Su Jianan, still upset, calls Lu Boyan a "pervert," complaining that he is full of scandals himself yet tries to control her, treating everyone as his private property. Despite her dysmenorrhea, she continues to eat ice cream out of anger. Luo Xiaoxi tries to comfort her by reminding her that their contract marriage will pass quickly. Su Jianan dismisses the idea, labeling men as "big pig hooves," using Jiang Shaokai as a typical example.
Luo Xiaoxi then warns Su Jianan to stop eating cold food because it causes her dysmenorrhea, but Su Jianan insists she needs the sweets to stimulate dopamine and calm herself. Luo Xiaoxi suggests they go shopping, and indeed, after shopping, Su Jianan feels happier. Lu Boyan calls, asking to speak with Su Jianan. Luo Xiaoxi answers, sarcastically telling him that Su Jianan is busy, unlike him who is busy meeting old lovers while also trying to coax his "little wife."
Luo Xiaoxi then tells Lu Boyan they are going to a bar and abruptly hangs up. She then explains to Su Jianan that this is her way of getting back at him, using his own tactics against him. Lu Boyan, presumably concerned after a previous incident of Su Jianan's drunkenness, rushes to the bar. Upon his arrival, a staff member thanks him for organizing a "meaningful event" for the bar.
Lu Boyan, confused, asks about the event and where Su Jianan is. The staff member explains that Mrs. Lu has already given instructions, then announces to the crowd that whoever successfully "wall-pins" Lu Boyan will win a free drink prize. The crowd cheers and rushes towards him, prompting Lu Boyan to shout "Ambush!" and immediately tell his driver to drive away, escaping the scene.
After the bar incident, Su Jianan, who had been observing from a hidden spot, is initially amused but then wonders if she went too far, feeling a strange pang of sympathy for Lu Boyan. Meanwhile, Lu Boyan receives a call from his mother, who scolds him for being a "playboy" and expresses her disappointment. She gives him two days to bring her "precious daughter-in-law" back, threatening not to see him otherwise.
Shen Yuechuan returns and immediately asks Lu Boyan about Su Jianan's situation, pointing out that the widely spread news about him and Han Ruoxi at the hotel is likely why Su Jianan is angry and jealous, as she might have seen online gossip and imagined things. The scene shifts to Han Ruoxi, heavily drunk, lamenting her situation and begging Lu Boyan not to be so cold to her.
Lu Boyan asks Shen Yuechuan to get her a towel and tells her to calm down and get sober. Lu Boyan wants to resolve the matter quickly as he doesn't want Su Jianan to hold a grudge and remain distant. Shen Yuechuan suggests Lu Boyan kneel to apologize, citing it as the fastest and most effective way to gain forgiveness in China, but Lu Boyan rejects it as impossible.
He also dismisses sending flowers as vulgar and jewelry as something Su Jianan wouldn't care for. Instead, he asks Shen Yuechuan to arrange a statement to clarify the misunderstanding. Shen Yuechuan offers to handle the matter personally, explaining to Han Ruoxi that while Lu Boyan initially considered a solo press conference, a joint clarification with a unified statement would minimize damage to all three parties' reputations, especially since Lu Boyan's marriage is already public.
That morning, Luo Xiaoxi calls Lu Boyan to inform him that Su Jianan's father has taken her to force her to inherit the family's underwear company. Su Jianan is in her father's office, being sternly reprimanded. Her father asserts that he sees through her marriage as merely a facade to avoid inheriting the business, convinced it's unhappy. He insists she return to inherit Su's Liren.
Su Jianan attempts to defend her relationship with Lu Boyan, stating that he and Han Ruoxi are just friends and that the media exaggerates. Her father dismisses her defense, saying he had believed their "childhood sweethearts, reunited lovers" story only because they got married, but now sees them as "two little swindlers" who tricked him.
He presses her to divorce Lu Boyan and sign the papers, reminding her that their agreement was that she wouldn't have to return if she had a happy marriage, which he clearly doesn't believe is the case. Just as her father demands she sign the divorce papers, Lu Boyan appears. He tells Su Jianan's father that Su Jianan is his wife and always will be, declaring "We are happy," and dismissing the rumors as media fabrications.
He tells him that he will soon see news proving the truth, and then takes Su Jianan with him. Su Jianan still protests being taken while still inside the company, but Lu Boyan insists they must "act the part" until they are out. In the car, Su Jianan remains upset about Han Ruoxi, stating she is not Han Ruoxi and questions his intentions.
Lu Boyan assures her that he clearly distinguishes between her and Han Ruoxi and that Han Ruoxi's actions have nothing to do with him. He then shows her a news report. The report features Shen Yuechuan and Han Ruoxi clarifying the hotel incident, with Shen Yuechuan explaining that Lu Boyan and Han Ruoxi have cooperated for years, were both in Yong'an city for work, and stayed in the same hotel due to company arrangements.
He emphasizes that Lu Boyan is a husband loyal to his marriage and family, and his relationship with Mrs. Lu is very stable. Han Ruoxi adds that her state of drunkenness was part of preparing for a new role and that Shen Yuechuan was also present, apologizing for any misunderstandings. After Su Jianan sees the clarification, Lu Boyan reiterates that he and Han Ruoxi have nothing to do with each other and promises that such incidents will not happen again.
Su Jianan then notices they are on the highway to Yong'an City. She attempts to make Shen Yuechuan stop the car, but he explains that Lu Boyan had previously cut short his business meetings in Yong'an to return when he learned of her hospitalization, and that his partners are giving him one last chance to negotiate, so delaying would lead to significant losses. Su Jianan realizes the extent of his actions.
In Yong'an City, Lu Boyan and Su Jianan meet the business partners, Mr. and Mrs. Chen from Henghui and Mr. and Mrs. Li from Yuanguang. The partners compliment Lu Boyan on his attentiveness to his wife. During a golf game, the partners praise Lu Boyan's good looks and his care for his wife, noting Mrs. Lu's good fortune. They also compliment Su Jianan, stating they've read her novels, which Lu Boyan recommended.
They believe her and Lu Boyan are childhood sweethearts, based on her books. Su Jianan clarifies that while their mothers knew each other since childhood and they were in the same middle school class, he later transferred, so they hadn't seen each other for many years. Lu Boyan then teaches Su Jianan how to play golf, giving her tips on posture. Thanks to her presence, the cooperation is quickly and smoothly concluded.
The partners express their pleasure and look forward to future meetings. After business, Lu Boyan takes Su Jianan to a Ferris wheel, revealing that he had prevented her from riding it in the past and wants to make up for it now. Su Jianan playfully accepts his apology and then shares a legend: lovers on a Ferris wheel will break up unless they kiss at the highest point.
As they reach the highest point, Su Jianan suddenly experiences stomach pain, realizing her dysmenorrhea has started, which she blames on the ice cream she had earlier. Lu Boyan offers her hot water, but she asks for sanitary pads. He then returns with various types of sanitary pads, explaining their features in detail, which leaves Su Jianan in a state of conflicted internal debate about whether he is a pervert or a considerate "warm man." Later, she is in bed, and Lu Boyan, with his warm hands, gently massages her stomach, asking if she feels any better.
