Gu Entong, feigning distress, met her senior sister Jian Dan at the beach for advice on a "relationship problem." She confided that Han Yansheng liked her and that she also harbored feelings for him, but their long-standing friendship made her unsure how to proceed. Gu Entong then revealed that she calls Han Yansheng "Dà Shèng" because she once saved his life, and he, in turn, has always been exceptionally good to her, allowing only her to use that nickname.
She asked Jian Dan, a psychology student, if she should take the initiative in their relationship. Although Jian Dan admitted she was only a freshman and lacked experience in such matters, Gu Entong pressed on, asking if Jian Dan would bless her and Dà Shèng if they were to get together. Jian Dan, caught off guard, nodded in agreement, leaving Gu Entong delighted.
Back at her dorm, Mi Fen noticed Jian Dan seemed out of sorts, but Mi Fen was too excited about her own date with Yuan Sen to inquire further and soon left. Mi Fen discovered a drawing of herself hidden within the notes, which Yuan Sen quickly tried to hide, claiming it was a mistake. In contrast, Monkey was not so fortunate. He was under Han Yansheng's strict supervision, struggling through countless math papers. He lamented the difficulty of math, wishing Shi could create study games like Yuan Sen did with comics, but acknowledged Shi's busy schedule.
When Monkey started to pray to various deities for passing grades, Han Yansheng threatened to call his aunt, the discipline dean, for a "prep talk," which immediately made Monkey fall in line, promising to do as many papers as needed. With Jian Dan's encouragement, Mi Fen diligently prepared for her exams, making every day productive. When exam day finally arrived, everyone wrote earnestly, pouring their efforts onto the papers.
After the grueling exams concluded, Monkey expressed immense relief, feeling the "air of freedom." He tried to call over Jian Dan and Mi Fen, but Jian Dan, appearing anxious, quickly pulled Mi Fen away. When Han Yansheng initially declined, citing a busy schedule, Gu Entong explained that she had accidentally ripped Shi's cuff button and wanted to buy him a new shirt as a surprise, asking Han Yansheng to try on clothes since they were a similar size. However, she then loudly claimed the item was broken and used, accusing Jian Dan and Mi Fen of scamming customers. This caused a commotion, drawing the attention of the discipline dean, who confiscated their remaining goods and issued a warning, causing Jian Dan and Mi Fen to lose their earnings and their merchandise. Distraught over their confiscated goods and lost earnings, Jian Dan and Mi Fen despaired over how to raise the money.
Han Yansheng then approached them, offering a "quick, high-paying, but intense and tiring" job. They readily accepted, and he led them to the swimming pool, explaining that the facility needed thorough cleaning and they were hired as "hourly workers" to make it "spick and span" before morning.
Though initially overwhelmed by the sheer size of the pool, Mi Fen eventually realized that 800 yuan for half a day's work was a good deal, while Jian Dan believed the pool genuinely needed cleaning, dismissing Mi Fen's suspicion about Han Yansheng's motives. They quickly got to work. By morning, Jian Dan and Mi Fen successfully completed the arduous cleaning task.
