Bai Di wore a solemn expression, his recent divination confirming an ominous premonition. He foresaw a devastating massacre in Sand Valley and his own tragic end, believing it was intrinsically linked to Shu Jingrong’s "Star of Calamity" fate. When Shu Jingrong, affectionately called Ming Er, approached him with herbs, she sensed his distress. Bai Di asked if, given the chance to go back ten years, she would still choose to stay in the valley and become his disciple.

Ming Er affirmed her choice, tearfully stating that he treated her like a daughter, and Qing Lan and Qing Yu cared for her deeply, adding that she treasured every moment of the past decade. Bai Di then revealed he initially took her in out of respect for her father, but their bond had grown far beyond that. He promised to keep her, Qing Lan, and Qing Yu safe, no matter what the future held.

Later, Ming Er overheard a tense conversation between Bai Di and Xue Gu. Xue Gu pressed Bai Di for the results of his star reading, mentioning Xiao Yiqing had sent him the Moon Spirit. Bai Di explained that he had noticed irregularities with two stars near the main star, and his recent divination revealed these guardian stars had converged, symbolizing calamity.

He clarified that if overcome, this calamity could turn into a blessing, though it largely depended on Ming Er's stubborn temperament. Xue Gu, realizing the guardian stars represented Bai Di's own disciples, expressed his fears. Overhearing this, Ming Er was devastated, her master’s words echoing in her mind as she ran off to a secluded part of the valley, crying out in anguish. Xiao Yiqing found Ming Er weeping by a waterfall.

He shared his own story, how he was born with Jue Yin Disease and doctors had predicted he wouldn't live past eight years old, yet he was still standing there. He questioned if she believed in fate, explaining that he never sought to change his destiny but refused to blindly accept it. He urged her to face her future head-on, reminding her that the Blood Rose Sword, which she had long desired, was nearby, its murderous aura awaiting its master.

He encouraged her to be braver and confront reality. Ming Er, touched by his words, thanked him and asked for a moment alone. Meanwhile, Qing Lan and Qing Yu frantically searched for Ye Huo, reporting her disappearance to Bai Di. Bai Di immediately suspected a deception, noting that for someone supposedly so weak, Ye Huo’s ability to vanish unseen meant her light-foot skills surpassed those of Qing Lan and Qing Yu.

He deduced she had faked her illness and a venom bug, concluding that a disaster was imminent for Sand Valley. At the same time, Nan Chu presented Xiao Yiqing with a painting from a traveling artist who had encountered Ye Huo in Nanjiang, confirming her true identity. Convinced of her treachery, Xiao Yiqing ordered Snow Tower disciples to transfer to Sand Valley and prepared to inform Bai Di.

As these events unfolded, Hua Lian, Mistress of the Moon Sect, arrived at Sand Valley with her forces. Confident in the map they possessed—which contained methods to crack Bai Di’s Qimen Dunjia formation—she ordered her Left Guardian to scout the valley with six men while the Right Guardian and others waited. She boasted of her superior power, especially since her guardian had previously navigated the valley unharmed.

Ming Er returned to the waterfall and, recalling Xiao Yiqing’s words about the Blood Rose Sword, summoned her power to shatter its icy seal and draw out the legendary weapon. She also discovered the "Book of Blood Rose Sword" inside, which referenced her father. Convinced that her presence brought calamity, she resolved to leave Sand Valley, believing her departure would protect her master and fellow disciples.

However, as she prepared to leave, she was ambushed by Hua Lian and her Moon Sect followers. Ming Er confronted Hua Lian, demanding to know how they bypassed Bai Di's defenses. Hua Lian dismissed Bai Di’s Qimen Dunjia as inferior to Moon Sect’s formations. Ming Er then realized the full extent of the betrayal, declaring, "It really was Ye Huo."

Hua Lian retorted that it was too late, revealing Moon Sect’s dual objectives in Luoyang: to retrieve their sacred relic, the Moon Spirit, and to seek revenge for the attack on Lingjiu Mountain a decade ago. Ming Er defiantly stated that to reach her master, they would first have to defeat her. Hua Lian, mockingly comparing Ming Er's arrogance to her father, the Blood Demon, then instructed her subordinate, Qing Hui, to not kill Ming Er directly.

Hua Lian intended to keep the Blood Demon’s daughter alive for slow torment, aiming to prove to Bai Di that despite a decade of protection, Ming Er would ultimately die by her hand. In the bamboo forest, Xiao Yiqing confronted the person he knew as Ye Huo. He revealed his knowledge that the real Ye Huo had died a year ago when her village was destroyed.

She confessed to being Ming He, the Young Mistress of the Moon Sect and Hua Lian's daughter, having meticulously planned for a year to gain the Crown Prince's trust. Ming He then summoned a swarm of red bats against Xiao Yiqing.

After he fought them off, she calmly explained that the bats’ wings carried a special venom powder designed to trigger old ailments, predicting his Jue Yin Disease would relapse, leading to his collapse and an easy victory for her, a deed performed for her mother. Xiao Yiqing, discovering a Moon Sect poison hairpin, internally grappled with the realization that "Ye Huo" was a Moon follower who knew the valley's interior intimately.

Ming He, observing his concern for Shu Jingrong, taunted him about Lady Jing’s importance to him. Xiao Yiqing, having overcome the bats, moved to strike Ming He, but Isolight swiftly intervened, saving Ming He and allowing her to escape. Meanwhile, Shu Jingrong, though fighting valiantly, was gravely wounded by the Moon Sect.

Hua Lian snatched the Blood Rose Sword from her and pierced her left shoulder, intending to slice her to pieces as a sacrifice for the Moon followers killed by Shu Jingrong’s father. Despite her injuries, Shu Jingrong defiantly declared that the Blood Rose Sword recognized its true owner and required human blood to be unsealed, implying Hua Lian's inability to master it. Enraged, Hua Lian vowed that every owner of the Blood Rose Sword would perish by its blade.

Just as Hua Lian prepared a fatal strike, Bai Di and Qing Yu arrived. Bai Di fiercely condemned the Moon Sect’s presence, but Hua Lian, unperturbed, gloated about her ten-year wait for this day, vowing to kill everyone in the valley to avenge their past humiliation. Bai Di knocked the Blood Rose Sword from Hua Lian’s grasp and gave it to Qing Yu, ordering him to take the unconscious Ming Er and flee.

Qing Yu initially resisted, wanting to fight alongside his master, but Bai Di insisted he run. Bai Di then engaged Hua Lian in a fierce battle. Though both sustained injuries, Bai Di was ultimately overwhelmed by the Moon Sect’s superior numbers and Hua Lian’s treacherous use of hidden weapons and arrows. Bai Di, outmatched, died by Hua Lian’s hand. Qing Yu had taken the unconscious Ming Er to a safer location.

When Ming Er regained consciousness, they discovered Bai Di slain, and both wept inconsolably over his bloody corpse. Simultaneously, Qing Lan intercepted Isolight and Ming He. Ming He, harboring feelings for Qing Lan, offered no resistance as he wounded her in the shoulder and abducted her, intending to use her as leverage against the Moon Sect. Isolight and other Moon Sect followers gave chase. Qing Yu, after rescuing a barely alive Ming Er, managed to evade Moon Sect pursuers.

Elsewhere, Xue Gu, Nan Chu, and Chi Xiaotai found a severely injured and semi-conscious Xiao Yiqing. He managed to utter a critical warning: the person pretending to be Ye Huo was from the Moon Sect and was ferociously skilled in martial arts. As Xiao Yiqing collapsed, Xue Gu noted that if not for the Moon Spirit’s suppression, his Jue Yin Disease would have attacked earlier.

Chi Xiaotai, hearing this, suddenly remembered losing the Sand Valley map after her encounter with "Ye Huo" and realized with self-reproach that Ye Huo had deliberately stolen the map, thus orchestrating the entire catastrophe. Nan Chu urged Xue Gu to take Xiao Yiqing back to Snow Tower for treatment, while he would stay and lead the remaining disciples. Nan Chu then discovered a blood trail and led his men in pursuit, determined to find Ming Er and Qing Yu.
