Qing Ming began treating Xiao Yiqing, inquiring about his recent chest pains and heartaches, and placed her hand on his chest during the diagnosis. Shu Jingrong entered and witnessed the scene. Xiao Yiqing, sensing the awkwardness, quickly informed Qing Ming that he was well aware of his own condition and ended the diagnosis, offering to escort her to rest. After Qing Ming departed, Xiao Yiqing explained to Shu Jingrong that Qing Ming was merely examining him as a physician.
Shu Jingrong remarked that Qing Ming, being a medical expert, might be able to cure his Supreme Flower Poison. Xiao Yiqing, however, dismissed her concerns, stating he was fine and there was no need for further treatment from Qing Ming. Shu Jingrong wondered if Xiao Yiqing's caution towards her was due to Chi Xiaotai. Shu Jingrong then reported that Yin Liu Zhu had begun forging the Guo Se Sword at Snow Tower.
She observed that Yin Liu Zhu was distressed by Nangong Wu Gou being besieged, which hindered her ability to forge the sword peacefully. Shu Jingrong volunteered to investigate the matter to ease Yin Liu Zhu's mind, but Xiao Yiqing declined her offer, stating he would send Huang Quan for the investigation and instructed Shu Jingrong to remain in the tower. Later that evening, Huang Quan, gravely wounded and covered in blood, stumbled into Zi Mo's room. Zi Mo was alarmed.
Huang Quan, struggling to speak, explained he had been reckless and ambushed, trying to tell Zi Mo to notify the Tower Master before he collapsed into unconsciousness. Zi Mo immediately called for guards and Doctor Mo. Upon hearing of Huang Quan's severe injuries, Yin Liu Zhu worried that Nangong Wu Gou must also be in grave danger.
She implored Shu Jingrong to take her back to her home, but Shu Jingrong advised her to stay at Snow Tower for her safety, promising to investigate the truth of Wu Gou's situation herself. Yin Liu Zhu further explained that Wu Gou had been trapped trying to retrieve the Heavenly Arsenal Manual for her, which was crucial for forging the Guo Se Sword, and urged Shu Jingrong to protect it. Xiao Yiqing visited the still unconscious Huang Quan.
Zi Mo reported that despite no fatal wounds, Huang Quan was in a coma due to severe blood loss from not tending to his injuries promptly. She added that judging by his wounds, he was attacked by multiple individuals, and their blows were ruthless. At this point, Shu Jingrong approached Xiao Yiqing, reiterating her request to go to the Yin family, arguing that Huang Quan's injuries and Wu Gou being trapped necessitated her immediate action.
Xiao Yiqing, concerned for her safety, forbade her from going. Shu Jingrong angrily retorted, implying that he no longer trusted her. His old illness flared up due to his anger. Shu Jingrong noticed his pale face and offered to summon Qing Ming. Xiao Yiqing then recalled Shu Jingrong's past words about leaving if he were no longer the strongest leader and questioned if she would still obey a vulnerable Tower Master like him.
Shu Jingrong affirmed that he was still the undisputed leader of the martial community and wondered why Doctor Mo and Qing Ming couldn't cure him. Xiao Yiqing acknowledged the complexity of the Yin family matters but, seeing her resolve, relented, telling her he wouldn't stop her if she insisted on going. His only request was that she return safely. Shu Jingrong, in turn, ordered him to accept treatment for his Supreme Flower Poison from Qing Ming upon her return.
Soon after, Zi Mo reported that Huang Quan had awakened. Huang Quan recounted to Xiao Yiqing that he had been scouting discreetly near Yin Residence but encountered interruptions. As he approached to investigate Nangong Wu Gou, he faced well-prepared opponents who first warned him off, then resorted to lethal force to deter anyone from the Yin Residence. He apologized for his recklessness. Xiao Yiqing absolved him of blame and asked for any leads.
Huang Quan revealed that on the night of the Yin family massacre, Yin Liu Zhu was not at home and only arrived after the incident. Zi Mo added that intelligence from Lan Xue Hall indicated the Nangong family was colluding with the Moon Sect, and Gu Guang had reported that Qing Hui was seen near the Nangong family around the time the Yin family was murdered.
Realizing the gravity of the situation and fearing for Shu Jingrong's safety, Xiao Yiqing immediately rushed to stop her, but Zi Mo confirmed that Shu Jingrong had already left the tower and was likely out of town. Later, in the Heavenly Arsenal Hall, Yin Liu Zhu explained to Xiao Yiqing that the Guo Se Sword required one final procedure, which could be completed once Shu Jingrong retrieved the Heavenly Arsenal Manual.
Xiao Yiqing, however, expressed his suspicion, questioning why she had secretly given the manual to Nangong Wu Gou and put Shu Jingrong in danger, doubting her trustworthiness. Yin Liu Zhu recalled her mother's dying words: "The one who lurks for Guo Se Sword is the one who massacred Yin family." She claimed she had misunderstood earlier, worried about Wu Gou, and didn't want the Nangong family to suffer the same fate as hers.
She insisted that the Heavenly Arsenal Manual must not fall into evil hands. Xiao Yiqing highlighted the inconsistencies in her statements, noting her agreement to forge the sword for Snow Tower despite her father's previous refusals and her sudden insistence on needing the manual now, asking which of her words were true.
Yin Liu Zhu maintained her sincerity, promising the Guo Se Sword to Snow Tower if they avenged her family, and clarified that only members of the Yin family knew how to utilize the manual. She stated that her sole motivation was revenge, and relying on Snow Tower was her best option, giving her no reason to deceive him. Xiao Yiqing then pressed her again, asking where she was and with whom on the night of the massacre.
Yin Liu Zhu confessed she was supposed to elope with Wu Gou that day, but he never showed up, and she received news of her family's tragedy. Xiao Yiqing found the timing too coincidental, suggesting Wu Gou might have known about the massacre beforehand. He advised Yin Liu Zhu not to trust others so easily and issued a stern warning: if anything were to happen to Shu Jingrong, he would ensure the culprit suffered eternally.
Meanwhile, Nangong Wu Gou was attempting to forge the Guo Se Sword at the Yin family residence using the Heavenly Arsenal Manual. He was repeatedly unsuccessful, and his swordsmith admitted he couldn't grasp the Yin family's unique forging methods. Wu Gou realized that only Yin Liu Zhu could forge the invincible sword. He met with Qing Hui, the Right Guardian of the Moon Sect.
Qing Hui questioned Wu Gou's loyalty, pointing out that he had let Yin Liu Zhu escape when the Mistress (Ming He) had ordered only a male descendant to be kept alive, and now Liu Zhu was with Snow Tower. Wu Gou apologized, admitting to his selfish desire to save her, but presented a new plan: by keeping Yin Liu Zhu at Snow Tower, they could still obtain the Guo Se Sword and simultaneously orchestrate the downfall of Snow Tower.
He suggested eliminating the Snow Tower assassins sent to the Yin Residence and replacing them with Moon Sect followers to jeopardize the relationship between Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong, while deflecting suspicion from himself. He sought Moon Sect's full support to elevate the Nangong family to prominence in the martial community. Qing Hui agreed to assist in acquiring the Guo Se Sword and destroying Snow Tower, leaving other rewards to the Mistress.
In a flashback, a younger Nangong Wu Gou and Yin Liu Zhu shared a romantic moment. Liu Zhu expressed her willingness to elope with him despite her parents' disapproval. Wu Gou subtly probed her about the Guo Se Sword, and Liu Zhu confided a family secret: the Guo Se Sword was the Yin family's last sword, and its forging was prophesied to lead to the end of the Yin family. Elsewhere, Gao Mengfei was assisting Chi Xiaotai in copying scriptures.
Chi Xiaotai, frustrated with the task, questioned its purpose. Gao Mengfei, ever obedient, insisted on helping her. Chi Xiaotai later presented the copied scriptures to Xiao Yiqing, who immediately recognized Gao Mengfei's handwriting, not hers, and reminded her that true repentance came from within. At that moment, Zi Mo arrived to report that Shu Jingrong had gone missing. Xiao Yiqing instantly stood up, clearly anxious. Chi Xiaotai was displeased by his reaction.
Xiao Yiqing then suffered a sudden, severe chest pain, his illness flaring up dramatically. Chi Xiaotai realized he had consumed "Lovesick Tears" instead of Biluo's wine that day, a poison that causes immense suffering with strong emotions. She concluded that Xiao Yiqing had long harbored feelings for Shu Jingrong, explaining his constant defense and protection of her.
Xiao Yiqing, still in pain, sternly warned Chi Xiaotai to keep his condition a secret, as revealing the Lovesick Tears would bring harm to Snow Tower. Chi Xiaotai, distraught, lamented that he seemed oblivious to her own feelings for him.
