Qing Ya rushed into the room, his voice filled with alarm as he cried out for his mother. To his shock, he found Madam Long dead in Xiao Yiqing's room, while Xiao Yiqing himself was nowhere to be found. Overwhelmed, Qing Ya ordered his guards to tend to Madam Long's body and immediately set out to search for Xiao Yiqing. Spotting Shu Jingrong, who was desperately seeking a doctor, Qing Ya had her apprehended.
Shu Jingrong was brought before Madam Long's body. Qing Ya angrily pointed out that the fatal wound on his mother's neck was caused by the Shadow Sun Dagger, a personal weapon belonging to Xiao Yiqing, which never left his side. He demanded an explanation from Shu Jingrong, believing Xiao Yiqing was the killer.
Shu Jingrong tried to argue that someone must have used the dagger to frame the Tower Master, but Qing Ya scoffed at the idea, asking who in the world could steal the dagger from Xiao Yiqing. Shu Jingrong remembered Xiao Yiqing's earlier instruction not to reveal his critical condition.
Realizing that anything she said would be useless in this situation, she declared she would find the Tower Master herself, drawing her Blood Rose Sword and vowing that anyone who blocked her path would meet their end, regardless of the Long family's presence across the island. Just as Shu Jingrong prepared to fight, Hong Chen arrived, calling out to Qing Ya. She revealed that Madam Long's servant, Xiao Yin, had disappeared at roughly the same time as Tower Master Xiao.
Examining Madam Long's body, Hong Chen further reported that the injury from the Shadow Sun Dagger was inflicted after death; the true fatal wound was a needle puncture. This made Xiao Yin's disappearance highly suspicious. Qing Ya then recalled that his mother had given Xiao Yin a floral poison from the Flower Palace to control her, and it was nearly time for her antidote.
He hypothesized that Xiao Yiqing might have killed his mother, stolen the flower, and kidnapped Xiao Yin. Shu Jingrong, seizing the opportunity, offered to leave the island and search for the truth, promising to prove Xiao Yiqing and Snow Tower innocent within two months. Qing Ya agreed, but warned that if she failed, the Long family would wage war against Snow Tower.
Shu Jingrong accepted the terms and asked for a boat, telling Hong Chen that since she had joined Snow Tower, she would accompany her. Unbeknownst to them, Xiao Yin was actually the Young Palace Master of the Flower Palace. Under her father Ming Che's orders, she had infiltrated the Long family three years prior to obtain the Azure Azalea flower, but only managed to get its seeds. She presented the seeds to Ming Che, who was pleased with her efforts.
Xiao Yin proudly recounted how she had killed Madam Long and framed Xiao Yiqing, even bringing the severely injured Xiao Yiqing back to the Flower Palace. Ming Che praised her for expertly pitting the Long family and Snow Tower against each other. He then vowed to make Xiao Shishui's son, Xiao Yiqing, suffer, relishing the unexpected turn of events. Back at Snow Tower, days passed with no news of Xiao Yiqing, causing deep concern for Nan Chu and Zi Mo.
Nan Chu worried about the increasing danger Xiao Yiqing faced the longer he was missing. Chi Xiaotai sat by Gao Mengfei's bedside, distraught as his condition worsened. Doctor Mo had done his best but regretfully stated he couldn't save Gao Mengfei. Chi Xiaotai begged him to find another way, but Nan Chu advised her to control her emotions, reminding her that they had to take care of Snow Tower in Yi Qing's absence.
Xue Gu, after examining Gao Mengfei, somberly predicted he would not live past two hours. Meanwhile, Shu Jingrong rode tirelessly back to Snow Tower, her horse collapsing from exhaustion, prompting Hong Chen to give her own horse so Shu Jingrong could continue her urgent journey. In the Moon Sect, Ming He was informed of the Flower Palace Master, Ming Che's, arrival. She fabricated a story about her mother Hua Lian being gravely ill and unfit to see anyone.
After dismissing the others, Ming He met privately with Ming Che. Ming Che, her father, reminisced about how he had once remodeled the Flower Palace's Grand Hall to resemble the Moon Palace's, all for Hua Lian. He recalled his youthful impetuousness when he left ten years ago because Hua Lian loved Xiao Shishui. Now, as their ten-year promise neared its end, he had hoped to make Hua Lian smile with the Azure Azalea seeds.
Ming Che then revealed his second reason for coming: he had captured Xiao Shishui's son, Xiao Yiqing, and possessed the Moon Spirit. Ming He was surprised and took the Moon Spirit, intending to safeguard it. In the Flower Palace dungeon, a weakened Xiao Yiqing slowly regained consciousness. Xiao Yin visited him, confirming his suspicions that he had been framed for Madam Long's murder using his Shadow Sun Dagger.
She gloated about the conflict she had caused, implying Shu Jingrong's precarious situation. Xiao Yin confessed her desire to use Snow Tower's vast intelligence network to find her own lover, but Xiao Yiqing, despite his vulnerable state, refused to bargain, stating Snow Tower only engaged in fair trade. His defiance only fueled Xiao Yin's anger.
Back at Snow Tower, just as Doctor Mo was preparing for Gao Mengfei's funeral, Shu Jingrong burst in, triumphantly declaring she had brought the Azure Azalea flower. Doctor Mo eagerly took the flower to prepare the medicine, though he cautioned that Gao Mengfei's survival now depended on fate. Nan Chu updated Shu Jingrong on their investigations.
He revealed that the current Flower Palace Master, Ming Che, was once a traveler who fell in love with and married the former Palace Master. He also shared crucial information about Xiao Yin: Bi Luo, Jiangnan's best swordsman, had been searching for his beloved, a young woman, for years without success. That woman, Nan Chu concluded, was Xiao Yin. They hoped that uncovering Xiao Yin's true identity would lead them to Xiao Yiqing.
Shu Jingrong then informed Nan Chu that before his disappearance, Xiao Yiqing had appointed her as the Lady of Snow Tower, making her commands supreme in his absence. Nan Chu readily accepted this, revealing that Xiao Yiqing had already discussed this with him before leaving for Long Residence.
He further confessed that for the past three years, while Shu Jingrong was away from Snow Tower, Xiao Yiqing had secretly monitored her every move and subtly provided assistance, ensuring her safety and progress. Shu Jingrong was deeply moved by this revelation. Meanwhile, a fire erupted in Hua Lian's chambers in the Moon Sect. Ming He rushed to the scene, feigning grief as her servants reported a body, identified as Hua Lian's by the remnants of her clothes.
Ming Che arrived, distraught at the loss of his wife. Ming He quickly blamed Xue Wen, claiming Hua Lian had requested to see her just before the fire. Xue Wen was brought in, and Ming He publicly accused her of murdering Hua Lian and setting the fire. Xue Wen, however, merely laughed, revealing her knowledge of Ming He's true intentions.
She sarcastically noted the superficiality of mother-daughter bonds and school ties, accusing Ming He of long harboring a desire to kill her mother, out of hatred for being imprisoned and for Hua Lian's role in preventing her reunion with Xiao Shishui. Despite Ming He's accusations of cruelty, Xue Wen calmly prophesied the Moon Sect's eventual defeat by Snow Tower, declaring that her son would one day free her.
Ming He, intent on making Xue Wen witness Snow Tower's demise and Xiao Yiqing's death, decided to spare her life for now, sending her back to Hong Lian Prison. Xue Wen's final words to Ming He were a chilling warning: the Moon Sect's days were numbered, and all of Ming He's deeds would eventually come to light. Despite Ming Ling's assurances that Xue Wen's prophecies were worthless without the Moon Spirit, Ming He remained troubled by her words as funeral arrangements for Hua Lian proceeded.
