Xiao Yiqing calmed himself, realizing that the vision of a female ghost was nothing more than an illusion. He pondered the identity of the lady in the painting that had seemed to come alive. Meanwhile, Shu Jingrong navigated a secret passage that led to a hidden residence. She overheard a conversation between Gu Guang and Ming He, realizing that the Moon Sect was also present on the island.

Impulsively, she burst in, but was no match for Gu Guang and Ming He. Injured, Shu Jingrong attempted to escape, only to be intercepted by Xiao Yin. Xiao Yin, on behalf of the Long family, handed the unconscious Shu Jingrong over to Ming He. Ming He instructed Gu Guang to guard Shu Jingrong, intending to use her as leverage against Xiao Yiqing if necessary, and strictly ordered him to keep Jia Ruo unaware of the situation.

Ming He also hinted at a larger plan to surprise Xiao Yiqing. Xiao Yiqing conducted an experiment, discovering that the red flowers produced a poisonous gas when exposed to fire, causing hallucinations. He also found that the leaves of these flowers could neutralize the poison. He realized that the Long family had intentionally arranged for them to arrive and land on the island at night.

He then opened the brocade pouch Shu Jingrong had given him, which contained a detailed map of the Long residence drawn by Zhu Niang. The map was Shu Jingrong's planned escape route, a contingency in case they were separated or something untoward happened. Xiao Yiqing reflected that Shu Jingrong had planned everything, but had kept him out of the loop. Hao Tian and Jiao Lü were alarmed to discover that Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong were missing from their rooms.

Jiao Lü reported that their beds appeared untouched. Hao Tian immediately sent men to search for them, emphasizing that Qian Mei must not be informed. He also expressed frustration, revealing that the Master had ordered constant surveillance on the Snow Tower members, suggesting a plot to kill them, despite Hao Tian having promised to eliminate Hong Chen and her allies. He questioned the Master's motives, especially given Snow Tower's growing power.

With the wedding scheduled for the next day, Hao Tian insisted that all arrangements must proceed as planned, confident that Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong couldn't leave the island without Long family boats. Elsewhere, Gao Mengfei was teaching Huang Quan swordsmanship, and Huang Quan greatly admired his skill. Chi Xiaotai approached Gao Mengfei, calling him "Qing Yu." Gao Mengfei angrily corrected her, stating that Qing Yu had died with Sunken Sand Valley, and only Gao Mengfei remained.

Gao Mengfei, misunderstanding that Chi Xiaotai liked Nan Chu, felt useless since Xiao Yiqing hadn't assigned him any tasks. He questioned why Chi Xiaotai only seemed to care about Xiao Yiqing's well-being. Chi Xiaotai, deeply hurt, left medicine for his wounds and told him that he should focus on himself before caring for others. Gao Mengfei retorted that he knew what kind of person he wanted to be and advised her to save herself first.

Hao Tian met with Ming He. Ming He informed him that the Long family and Moon Sect had a long-standing relationship, dating back to when Madam Long, then a Flower Palace handmaiden, eloped with the Long family master, an incident that Ming He's mother, Hua Lian, had personally resolved. Ming He stated that while times had changed and the Long family needed new alliances, the Moon Sect's friendship with them was not to be overlooked.

She then pointedly brought up the mysterious deaths of the eleven previous brides, implying Hao Tian's involvement. Hao Tian drew his sword, but Ming He calmly declared that her only objective was the Azure Azalea and that she had no desire to cause trouble for the Long family. Hao Tian warned her that the new bride was from Snow Tower and questioned if she would survive the wedding night, suggesting the Long family might side with Snow Tower.

Ming He countered by asking if the Long family had consulted the Moon Sect about such an alliance. Xiao Yin led Qian Mei to the flower hall, where portraits of the previous madams were displayed. Qian Mei remarked on the meticulous detail and lifelike quality of the paintings, noticing they were all done by the same artist, implying the artist must have seen the women in person and was still on Yingge Island.

Xiao Yin, feigning ignorance, insisted Qian Mei follow tradition and pay respects to the portraits. As Qian Mei did so, she experienced a terrifying hallucination: the late Madam Long's portrait came alive, warning her not to betray the Long family or harm Qing Ya, threatening her with a dire fate. Petrified, Qian Mei collapsed and fled in a panic, eventually fainting into the arms of a concerned Hao Tian who rushed to her side.

The next day, Xiao Yin informed Hao Tian that the Master had returned and wished to see his bride before the wedding, which was unusual. Hao Tian, uneasy, tried to delay the meeting, claiming Qian Mei was unwell, but Xiao Yin insisted that the Master's orders could not be disobeyed, and he seemed to be treating this new bride differently. Shortly after, Qing Ya, the Master of the Long family, entered Qian Mei's room. His face was hideously disfigured.

He questioned her presence, noting that Xiao Yiqing had exchanged her for the Azure Azalea, and accused her of betrayal. Despite her fear, Qian Mei bravely explained that she had volunteered to come for the sake of Snow Tower and Hao Tian. Qing Ya, seemingly satisfied, then told her that he would worship the Dragon God on the main island and return that night, at which point she would officially become Madam Long. Xiao Yiqing returned to the flower hall.

He observed that the red flowers on the wall were merely decorative and artificially arranged. The "blood" dripping from them was staged, not natural growth, indicating a "sensational trick." He discovered a hidden chamber behind Madam Long's painting and entered. Inside the hidden chamber, Jia Ruo found the unconscious Shu Jingrong, who was murmuring "Elder Brother" in her sleep, which resonated deeply with him.

Ming He arrived, chastising Jia Ruo for leaving his room, reminding him of his fragile health and counteracting inner energy. Jia Ruo demanded to know who Shu Jingrong was and why she was imprisoned. Ming He revealed that Shu Jingrong was an enemy of the Moon Sect, held to be used against Xiao Yiqing. Jia Ruo, suspicious, questioned why Ming He had hidden this from him.

He then stopped Ming He from killing Shu Jingrong, stating that he had already killed too many people over the years under his mother's orders and did not wish to take another life, especially when Shu Jingrong was already poisoned and unconscious. Ming He argued that Shu Jingrong was a threat to Jia Ruo's safety, as Snow Tower sought the Azure Azalea, which was crucial for his condition.

Jia Ruo, collapsing from a sudden flare-up of his condition, insisted they keep Shu Jingrong alive, believing it would be more beneficial. Ming He, now worried about Jia Ruo's health, cradled him and quickly led him away. Meanwhile, a fierce storm brewed outside. Xiao Yin frantically reported to Hao Tian that Qian Mei was missing from her room.

Hao Tian realized Qian Mei might have attempted to flee after her encounter with Qing Ya, fearing she might throw herself into the raging sea. Qian Mei, driven to near madness by the terrifying encounters and hallucinations, had indeed run out into the tempest. Hao Tian found her amidst the downpour, hearing voices warning her that betrayal of the Long family or Qing Ya would lead to her death and burial like the previous brides.

Crying uncontrollably, Qian Mei desperately embraced Hao Tian, pleading with him to help her escape the eerie and horrifying island. She declared she could no longer endure being controlled and wanted to go anywhere, as long as she was with him.
