Tang Xin brought Tang Yu home. Since Tang Yu had previously rejected Tang Xin, her parents were not impressed. Tang's father blocked the door, and Tang's mother claimed there wasn't much food prepared, so there was no place for Tang Yu. Awkwardly standing there, Tang Xin had to do some fatherly persuasion. With her cute tactics, Tang's father eventually surrendered, allowing them to enter. Tang Xin informed Tang Yu that the father hurdle was cleared, and the next step was dealing with Tang's mother.
Tang's father asked if Tang Yu played mahjong. It seemed like there was nothing that couldn't be solved over a mahjong game. Tang Yu played along, trying to help Tang's father get the tiles he needed. However, Tang Xin intercepted several tiles, causing Tang Yu's efforts to entertain his future father-in-law to fall short. After dinner, Tang's father formally asked about Tang Yu's feelings for Tang Xin. Tang Yu knelt down and swore to the heavens that his feelings for her were more than just a liking—he was ready to love her with his life. This answer moved Tang's father and mother, and Tang Xin couldn't hold back her tears.
During breakfast the next day, Tang's father mentioned Tang Xin's class reunion and brought up her past crush on Han Yang. Tang Xin awkwardly reminded her father not to mention it, but he paid no attention. Annoyed, Tang's mother dragged him away. Tang Yu, feeling a bit jealous, offered to accompany Tang Xin to the reunion. However, Tang's father wanted him to accompany him to the chess and card room for mahjong. Helpless, Tang Yu had to deal with his future father-in-law first. On the other side, Tang Dingding had dinner with her parents. Lu Zhixing sent a message that he was drinking alone. Tang Dingding immediately made a plan and lied about accompanying Shen Fei, luring Lu Zhixing out for a drink. She took him to a nightclub, and despite Lu Zhixing feeling a bit out of place in the noisy environment, he slowly adapted, thanks to Tang Dingding's company.
At the class reunion, You Huan teased Tang Xin about her past crush, and coincidentally, Han Yang arrived. He seemed to still have feelings for Tang Xin, but she considered him a thing of the past. She only had eyes for Tang Yu now. After the reunion, Tang Yu waited at the door to pick up Tang Xin. They encountered Han Yang, who tried to provoke them. Han Yang deliberately explained why he didn't go to Beijing with Tang Xin initially. Tang Yu confidently responded, saying Han Yang wasn't worthy of Tang Xin, and he could give his life for her, something Han Yang couldn't do. Tang Yu and Tang Xin left gracefully.
Walking home together, Tang Xin asked Tang Yu if he believed in love at first sight. Her one-sided love for him was her secret. On a bridge, they kissed, and Tang Yu surprised Tang Xin with fireworks, prepared in advance for the New Year. After the New Year, Tang Yu took Tang Xin home, discussing the possibility of meeting his parents. Nervous, Tang Xin planned to dress more formally and lied about her weight, going on a diet to fit into the clothes Tang Yu prepared.
The rough cut of "Making a Dream for You" was completed, and Feng Cheng treated everyone. Tang Xin, hesitant due to her diet, only started eating after persuasion from Tang Yu. Feng Cheng and Lu Zhixing were a bit drunk and brought up Lu Zhixing and Tang Dingding's situation. Lu Zhixing had concerns due to their age difference, but Feng Cheng reassured him, saying an eight-year age gap was nothing, especially when they were such a well-matched couple.
Tang Yu brought Tang Xin home, and Tang's mother gave her a large red envelope as a welcome gift. Tang's mother eagerly asked when they planned to get married, catching Tang Xin off guard with the unexpected question.
