To Shen Jin's surprise, Maya readily agreed to move out, stating she would relocate to a market inn for convenience. However, Mammy Qingqiu and Meaty both suspected a trap in this easy victory.
Meaty was especially worried, fearing that an unhappy Shen Jin would act on her threat to have Meaty's love interest permanently confined to the military camp. That evening, Chu Xiuming returned and embraced Shen Jin, assuring her that his heart had room only for her. He then gently chided her for rudely expelling Maya. Meanwhile, the maid Xiao Cong's attempts to flirt with Vice General Chu Xiuyuan were met with complete obliviousness, as the stoic military man professed to have no particular preferences. Meaty reluctantly carried out the order, but Shen Jin was quickly struck by guilt, worried about the consequences and deepening Chu Xiuming's misunderstanding. She rushed back to release them, only to find the tower empty. Nearby, she discovered Chu Xiuyuan and Maya engaged in a friendly duel.
Chu Xiuming soon arrived and intervened, demonstrating the principle that "speed is key," which impressed them both. Seeing Chu Xiuming's close interaction with Maya, Shen Jin became deeply upset and retreated to her room. Refusing to eat or see anyone, Shen Jin locked herself away. Meaty encouraged her to maintain a hunger strike to elicit Chu Xiuming's sympathy, but both were soon overcome by genuine hunger.
That night, they crept into the kitchen seeking leftovers but instead found a feast of Shen Jin’s favorite dishes, still hot. They learned that Chu Xiuming had secretly arranged for these meals every night. They also discovered he had returned to the military camp because Shen Jin refused to see him, feeling the mansion was empty without her.
At the camp, Chu Xiuyuan admonished his brother for being oblivious to Shen Jin's true needs, suggesting she wanted to share his burdens, not just be protected from them. Overcome with love and regret, Shen Jin went to the military camp. With tears in her eyes, she apologized to Chu Xiuming, confessing that her anger and jealousy stemmed from her deep love and fear of losing him.
She acknowledged he was hiding things from her but promised to wait patiently until he was ready to share his burdens. Finally, the day came for Princess Maya to return to her tribe. As Shen Jin and Chu Xiuming bid her farewell, they were astonished to see Yuan'er, a household servant, preparing to leave with her. It was then revealed through a flashback that Maya and Yuan'er were in love.
Mortified that her schemes and anxieties had been for nothing, Shen Jin vented her frustration that everyone else seemed to know but kept her in the dark. Chu Xiuming embraced her, reassuring her that he belonged only to her and that no other woman could compare. At peace, Shen Jin playfully asked him to "sign and press his seal" on his promise, and they sealed it with a tender kiss.
