The severe thunder and magnetic field disruptions prevented Qi Xun from teleporting, so he quickly called his assistant, Ai, to send him a photo of the hotel's location. Arriving near the site, he encountered Director Du, who informed him that the mountain roads to the hotel were closed due to a red storm alert, making it impossible to go up. Qi Xun, desperate to find Shuangshuang, demanded the car keys.
Director Du protested, reminding him that he couldn't drive and it was too dangerous. Qi Xun insisted that he was responsible for Shuangshuang and would go himself. Director Du warned him that if anything happened to him, MIST Construction would lose all meaning to her, and she would sell it to his most hated rival, just to spite him.
Unfazed, Qi Xun told her to take care of MIST if he didn't return, then got into the car, his mind flooded with painful memories as he started driving up the dangerous mountain road. Meanwhile, Shuangshuang, oblivious to the raging storm, was at the old hotel site, sifting through drawers and lighting candles, humming along to music through her headphones. Qi Xun eventually found her, calling out her name in relief. Seeing her small figure, he embraced her tightly.
Shuangshuang, startled, asked how he got there and if he came alone, expressing worry about landslides in such heavy rain. Qi Xun, ignoring her questions, scolded her for not returning with her colleagues, stressing how worried he and the company were. Shuangshuang explained she had followed an old granny, and when she turned back, everyone was gone. She added that there was no signal to call him.
Hearing that she had tried to call him brought a hint of joy to Qi Xun, but he quickly covered it up, claiming he was merely seeking shelter from the rain as there was a new project nearby. The conversation then turned to the old granny. Shuangshuang recounted that the old hotel site owner didn't want to demolish the old bridge, a request conveyed by Miss Lin, who was hosting them.
However, Director Du had cited high renovation costs and budget constraints as reasons for its demolition. Shuangshuang shared her own perspective, explaining that for an old granny with Alzheimer's, lingering so long and frequently visiting the bridge meant it held deep, precious memories for her. She proposed that instead of demolishing it, the bridge could be preserved within the hotel’s future plans, imbued with a small story to add a touch of artistic charm, drawing in tourists.
Qi Xun commended her idea, noting that while her talent for drawing and observation was innate, her biggest flaw was underestimating herself and hiding her true thoughts. He praised her ability to find unique solutions where others only saw difficulties. Shuangshuang was delighted by his compliments, finally understanding her strengths through his words. The tender moment was interrupted when Shuangshuang, fetching some dry clothes for Qi Xun, tripped while going downstairs.
In a flash, Qi Xun teleported to her side, catching her before she fell. Shuangshuang was astonished, wondering how he had appeared so quickly. After she calmed down, Qi Xun promised to explain. She excitedly speculated if he was Batman, listing his traits: eavesdropping skills, picky eating, appearing and disappearing at will, and being rich. Qi Xun corrected her, stating he was a "patient," explaining that he and Qi Tian were normal people but with differences.
He clarified that while most people perceive those with superpowers as invincible, in reality, they are often more vulnerable, as a gift of power often comes with a significant cost. He explained that his ability allowed him to instantly teleport to any place he had seen or had a photo of, but severe weather like thunder and magnetic field disruptions could interfere with his power, which was why he couldn't teleport earlier and had to drive.
To illustrate, he drew two points on a piece of paper, showing how normal travel is linear, but by folding the paper, the two points became overlaid, demonstrating "space folding." He added that Qi Tian's ability was different. Qi Xun revealed that using his powers heightened all his senses a hundredfold, an intensity a normal person could never comprehend, which Shuangshuang remarked sounded lonely.
He then explained Qi Tian's power of clairvoyance, which, while seemingly powerful, came at the cost of a shortened life. Shuangshuang was distressed, asking if there was any way to help her. Qi Xun told her that only a legendary healer could save Qi Tian, but finding one would be incredibly difficult. Shuangshuang, moved, declared her resolve to help him, insisting it was her turn to repay him for all the times he had saved her.
Overwhelmed by her sincerity, Qi Xun kissed her. That night, Shuangshuang peacefully slept on his arm, and Qi Xun, unable to move, let her drool on his sleeve. The next morning, before Shuangshuang woke, Qi Xun briefly encountered the old deaf granny. When Shuangshuang awoke, she meticulously drew a renovation plan for the old bridge. Later, she showed her drawing to the granny, who, deeply moved, repeatedly murmured, "He is back."
The manager of the place, a woman who had grown up there as an orphan, then revealed the granny's poignant love story. The granny was once a volunteer teacher who fell in love with a soldier. He would always wait for her on the bridge while she taught, but when the warfare intensified, he was called to battle. They parted on that very bridge, promising his return, but he never came back. The granny had spent her entire life waiting.
The manager herself had returned to say goodbye to the orphanage, her childhood home, before its conversion into a hotel. Shuangshuang, touched by the story, offered her drawing to the granny through the manager. The manager, remarking on Shuangshuang's thoughtfulness and adorableness, urged Qi Xun to treat her well. Qi Xun playfully dismissed it, saying Shuangshuang was "just silly," and they departed down the mountain.
Back at MIST Construction, during a meeting about the site survey results, Qi Xun, to everyone's surprise, declared that the footbridge could not be demolished, contradicting the initial plans. He instructed the team to find a way to better highlight its significance. Later, Director Du approached Qi Xun in his office, not about the project, but to inform him that Shuangshuang had passed her test and would remain in her department.
She then sincerely apologized for the incident on the mountain, admitting her mistake. Qi Xun, though, responded that it wasn't entirely her fault and that it was all in the past.
