Qi Xun felt deep regret over the misunderstanding he had caused with Shuangshuang. He sent her an apology message, but her father, unbeknownst to Shuangshuang, intercepted her phone, deleted Qi Xun's message, and ensured no further communication between them. Meanwhile, He Zhengchang visited the tomb of his elder brother, He Taichang, on his anniversary. He solemnly swore to avenge his brother, expressing his hatred for the world, himself, and those who caused his brother's agonizing death by fire.

Later, He Zhengchang met with Jian Bai, his girlfriend, at a noodle shop, where she gently reminded him to let go of his pain. He Zhengchang, however, insisted that his brother would have done more for him if their situations were reversed. Jian Bai, who works at a construction design company called MIST, then took He Zhengchang to her workplace. As the person in charge of logistics, she offered him a tour.

She led him through the design department, where He Zhengchang noticed a particularly messy desk and inquired about its occupant. Jian Bai revealed it belonged to Feng Shuangshuang, a newcomer whose unique drawings were highly regarded by their boss. She also mentioned Shuangshuang's unusual preference for a specific type of drink, a detail He Zhengchang stored away with clear intent. Qi Xun celebrated his sister Qi Tian's birthday.

Qi Tian confessed she didn't want to celebrate, but Qi Xun encouraged her, saying their parents would have wanted her to. He spoke about the difference between unavoidable pain and the necessity of finding joy, emphasizing that true healing isn't about letting go, but about moving forward. He promised Qi Tian that from now on, all her birthdays would be happy ones.

When it was time to make a wish, Qi Tian expressed her hope that Qi Xun would resolve his issues with Shuangshuang, face his own feelings, and stop worrying about her. Elsewhere, Feng's father visited his late wife Xun Xue's grave, speaking to her about his feelings. Later, Qi Xun called Shi Lang, asking him to find Shuangshuang's new address, as she had moved. Shi Lang was surprised Qi Xun didn't know but agreed to help.

Soon, Qi Xun arrived at Shuangshuang's new residence. Kun Lan intercepted him at the door, demanding to know his purpose. Qi Xun insisted he needed to speak with Shuangshuang. Kun Lan rebuffed him, stating he knew what kind of man Qi Xun was and that there was nothing to discuss. Shuangshuang's father emerged, reinforcing Kun Lan's stance.

Qi Xun tried to explain to the father that he took the painting only because the woman in it looked familiar, and he wanted to investigate, denying any ill intentions. He pleaded to speak with Shuangshuang to explain everything, but her father informed him that Shuangshuang did not want to see him. Kun Lan then asserted that Shuangshuang was not a mere tool, but the most important person to him because he was her guardian.

He warned Qi Xun that as long as he was alive, he would not allow them to meet again. Filled with regret and distress, Qi Xun found himself in a tense standoff with Kun Lan. After her shower, Shuangshuang asked her father if someone had knocked, but he lied, saying it was just a waiter. He insisted they pack immediately as they had to leave the city that very day.

Shuangshuang hesitantly mentioned needing to process her resignation at MIST, but her father was firm, explaining that staying would only lead to endless entanglement and that they needed to go somewhere no one knew them. Though heartbroken and reluctant, Shuangshuang packed her belongings, recalling cherished memories of Qi Xun while looking at his photos on her phone. Meanwhile, He Zhengchang was meticulously concocting a special beverage, which he planned to use in his scheme. He Zhengchang later infiltrated MIST.

Qi Xun was in his office, lost in thought, remembering a lighthearted moment with Shuangshuang when he teased her about reading Superman comics, and he found her flustered explanation adorable. While Qi Xun was reminiscing, He Zhengchang swiftly placed his specially prepared drink in Shuangshuang's desk drawer. Later, Shuangshuang returned to her office, discovered the drink, and, assuming it was a kind gesture from Qi Xun, happily consumed it.

He Zhengchang observed her from a distance, confirming her liking for the beverage. Once Shuangshuang departed, he subtly placed another identical drink on her desk, satisfied with his progress. Shi Lang visited Qi Xun, explaining he had a new realization: they might have been wrong to assume there was only one healer. Given that espers and healers originate from the same source, and there are multiple espers, it's logical that other healers could be hiding among ordinary people.

He suggested that if they could find another healer, Qi Xun would no longer need to put Shuangshuang at risk, and Qi Tian could still be saved. Qi Xun pondered the moral dilemma of asking a stranger to make an unknown sacrifice, even to save his sister. Shi Lang reassured him, theorizing that perhaps multiple healers could collaborate, lessening the risk for each.

He advised Qi Xun to focus on mending things with Shuangshuang while he himself would undertake the search for the next healer, teasing that he wouldn't trust Qi Xun with the task for fear he'd "fall for" another healer. Soon after, as Shi Lang had predicted, a new healer, known as Miss Fairy Tale, was introduced, calming a distressed child named Qin Ran with her soothing presence.
