Flipped Episode 10 Recap
> Flipped Recap
Upon receiving a call from Zhazha, Kun Lan learned that Shuangshuang was at Qi Xun's house. He promptly arrived, bringing his luggage, indicating his resolve to stay. Qi Xun, though frustrated, tried to discuss design plans seriously with Shuangshuang. Every time Shuangshuang approached Kun Lan, Qi Xun would call her back, pointing out issues in her designs.
Qi Xun critiqued a design, noting that while the composition and plan were good, Shuangshuang forgot to account for noise insulation, as the surrounding area was still under construction. He said the "little guy" would suffer from noise every day, a comment he seemed to enjoy. Kun Lan, annoyed by their closeness, muttered from the side. Eventually, Qi Xun used the design drawing to block Kun Lan's view and kissed Shuangshuang. Embarrassed, Shuangshuang excused herself to go to bed.
Qi Xun attempted to follow her upstairs, but Kun Lan stopped him, leading to a physical altercation between the two men. Meanwhile, Feng's father was seeking his hidden painting when he was intercepted by He Zhengchang, who demanded to know Xun Xue's whereabouts. Feng's father claimed no knowledge of Xun Xue, prompting He Zhengchang to beat him unconscious. He Zhengchang then abandoned Feng's father and consumed a self-prepared medication.
As the drug took effect, he drank some water and looked at photos on a wall, vowing revenge against those responsible for his brother's death and his own illness. He Zhengchang's brother found Xun Xue and was overjoyed, believing she could save them both. However, Xun Xue stated that she was unable to cure either of them, no matter how much He's brother pleaded.
He Zhengchang questioned why his brother was begging others, but his brother, whose thirty-year-old appearance had aged drastically, insisted that he would do anything to save Zhengchang. He was determined that Zhengchang should live a normal life, reaching forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, and eighty, eventually dying peacefully in a warm bed, unlike their father or himself, who suffered undeservedly. He Zhengchang claimed not to care, but his brother firmly stated that he did.
The next morning, Qi Tian awoke to find Kun Lan asleep on the sofa. Shuangshuang then entered the living room, and the two girls took photos of Qi Xun and Kun Lan embracing each other in their sleep. Qi Xun, mistaking Kun Lan for Shuangshuang, hugged him even tighter. When they finally woke up, both were shocked and began yelling.
Kun Lan called Qi Xun a "rascal" and threatened to tell Shuangshuang, but Qi Xun saw the photos on the table and realized Shuangshuang already knew. During breakfast, chaos ensued as Qi Xun and Kun Lan continued to compete for Shuangshuang's attention. Qi Tian, who had been asking for more food, got into a small argument with Kun Lan.
Later, Shuangshuang received a phone call from the hospital's emergency room, informing her that her father, Feng Yun, had been injured and she needed to come immediately. Upon arriving, Shuangshuang learned that her father only had a minor leg injury and could be discharged in a few days. Unable to cover the medical expenses, she called Kun Lan for help. Kun Lan rushed to the hospital without asking for details.
Shuangshuang, distressed, told him about her father's accident and expressed her worry about what to say when he woke up. Kun Lan offered to see her father first. While waiting outside, Shuangshuang received a message from Qi Xun, informing her that he would take a leave of absence for her. When Kun Lan emerged, he told Shuangshuang that her father had woken up and wished to see her.
He reassured her that Feng Yun was weak and would not harm her. Shuangshuang cautiously entered the room, keeping her distance. Feng Yun admitted his past harsh treatment, claiming it was his only way to protect her, and expressed his exhaustion and desire to reconcile and start a new life. He formally asked for her forgiveness and if she would live with him again.
Shuangshuang was conflicted, unprepared for such a request, and worried that he might not be sincere, fearing a return to the past where he would again restrict her freedom. Kun Lan, outside the room, encouraged her not to rush her decision. He explained that parents also learn and grow, and despite past communication issues, he believed her father loved her deeply.
Shuangshuang recounted a strange moment on the night she ran away, when she felt a sudden urge to flee while looking at her drunk father, despite never hating him for locking her up as a child, only feeling fear and helplessness. She wondered why he had brought her into the world if she was a burden. Kun Lan advised her to follow her heart, as time would eventually reveal the answer.
He Zhengchang arrived at Feng Yun's hospital room again, and Feng Yun insisted on leaving with him. Despite the nurse's attempts to stop him due to the lack of family authorization, and Shuangshuang and Kun Lan's presence, Feng Yun vehemently told them they needed to leave, especially upon learning it was the private hospital of the Kun's, calling it a place of "death." He pushed Kun Lan away, accusing the Kun family of being evil.
Shuangshuang grew angry, accusing her father of breaking his promise of a fresh start and again disregarding her wishes. She tearfully recounted her childhood, being locked in a closet, learning to be self-sufficient at a young age, and being physically punished for resisting him. She questioned why he kept her if he viewed her as a burden. Overwhelmed, Shuangshuang ran away and found Qi Xun, clinging to him for comfort and protection.
