Upon arriving at Fu Zeyi's home, Jing Zhixia was immediately instructed to clean the pool table. She, the owner of Aizhe Hotel and a wealthy daughter, protested, asserting that while she tolerated being treated as a clerk or driver, she would not be a cleaner. However, Fu Zeyi invoked Article 12 of their contract, which stipulated her unconditional obedience.
When Jing Zhixia dismissed it as a slave contract and offered to pay compensation, Fu Zeyi threatened to expose Aizhe Hotel for using fake furniture, which would cause a scandal. Despite her accusations of his unethical bullying, Fu Zeyi insisted she clean until he was satisfied. Just then, his assistant called him to a meeting, and he left, telling Jing Zhixia to take her time. She realized he was simply trying to pick on her.
At the company meeting, Fu Zeyi was reprimanded by his father, Fu Guoqiang, for his inability to secure Aizhe Hotel. Fu Guoqiang, who was months away from stepping down as chairman of the board, reminded Fu Zeyi, a candidate for the position, that he needed to earn shareholder support. He warned that any mistakes that embarrassed The Fu Group would lead to Fu Zeyi being disowned.
Fu Shengrong, Fu Zeyi's Second Uncle, tried to mediate, offering to help Fu Zeyi and promising to speak with him privately. Back at Fu Zeyi's residence, Fu Shengrong joined him. Jing Zhixia, who was still cleaning, overheard a staff member comment that Fu Zeyi likely needed his uncle's support. Believing Fu Shengrong to be a crucial contact whose displeasure could get her fired, Jing Zhixia deliberately spilled tea on him while serving. Fu Shengrong reacted with anger, pushing her away.
Fu Zeyi quickly caught Jing Zhixia, preventing her from getting hurt by the broken teacup, and then criticized his uncle's behavior. Outside, Jing Zhixia admitted her actions were a ploy to get fired, unaware that Fu Shengrong was Fu Zeyi's uncle and not a client. Fu Zeyi, however, acknowledged that she had done well. Fu Zeyi granted Jing Zhixia a day off, which she initially celebrated by planning a trip.
Her excitement quickly faded when Fu Zeyi announced he would accompany her, stating she needed to get used to traveling with another person. Instead of her planned getaway, Jing Zhixia dragged Fu Zeyi to a shopping mall, going on a spree and making him pay for all her purchases. Later, at a restaurant, an elderly man collapsed.
Jing Zhixia quickly performed CPR, identifying it as a heart attack, and insisted that an ambulance be called, while Fu Zeyi defended her against the restaurant staff trying to shirk responsibility. Her quick actions revived the man just as paramedics arrived.
Jing Zhixia later confided in Fu Zeyi that her father had died alone in their hotel restaurant from a sudden illness, and she regretted that no one was there to help him despite his own precautions, such as installing defibrillators. She also revealed her own heart palpitations were eased by a song Lin had once composed for her, and she wondered if Fu Zeyi remembered.
When her heart palpitations flared up, Fu Zeyi rushed her to a piano and played the very tune, much to Jing Zhixia's astonishment. On the way home, she confronted him about pretending not to know her, but he simply claimed he "learned it." Upon reaching home, she assured him her heart palpitations were merely symptoms of low blood sugar. That night, Jing Zhixia lay awake, pondering Fu Zeyi's ambiguous actions and his memory of the song.
She found herself hallucinating his presence beside her, unable to sleep. The next morning, her brother, Jian Bufan, noticed her exhaustion and learned they had "almost kissed." Jian Bufan advised her to seek clarity from Fu Zeyi. Before she could, Fu Shengrong called her. He apologized for his previous behavior, acknowledging her as the CEO of Aizhe Hotel, and offered to buy her remaining shares at triple the market price.
He then revealed Fu Zeyi's true motive: to acquire the land Aizhe Hotel was on, demolish it, and build The Fu Group's new business district. Jing Zhixia was devastated, realizing Fu Zeyi's entire arrangement had been a calculated trap to force her to sell her family's cherished hotel. She confronted Fu Zeyi, angrily accusing him of a cruel conspiracy to make her, a "loser," witness the destruction of her father's legacy as a form of punishment.
She vowed that The Fu Group would not succeed. Meanwhile, Fu Zeyi secretly sought out Teacher Luo, a piano instructor, to learn the specific song he had played for Jing Zhixia. Despite having no prior piano experience, he bypassed basic lessons, insisting on learning only that particular melody, and diligently practiced it.
