After Ge Yingxing's funeral was held, Zichuan Xiu knelt before his memorial tablet, continuously murmuring in remembrance of his mentor. He also secretly resolved to thoroughly investigate the truth behind his mentor's death. Afterward, Zichuan Xiu and Si Te Lin went to the prison to visit Di Lin. Zichuan Xiu was still angry with Di Lin and stood outside the cell without entering.

Si Te Lin went inside and talked to Di Lin about the case, wanting to help clear Di Lin's name. Di Lin endured the pain of torture, pretending to be fine, and asked Si Te Lin to send a message to Lin Xiujia, saying that he was alright and she shouldn't worry about him.

As soon as Si Te Lin and Zichuan Xiu left the prison, their subordinate delivered news that Ge Yingxing's bodyguard, Weiming, knew the truth about Ge Yingxing's death. Zichuan Xiu immediately set off for the location Weiming had arranged to meet, while Si Te Lin went to inform Lin Xiujia. Zichuan Ning asked Si Te Lin to spend some time with Ka Dan, as Ka Dan had been worried about him since he was injured.

Zichuan Ning then informed Lin Xiujia about Di Lin's situation. On the other side, Zichuan Xiu arrived at the meeting point arranged by Weiming and just happened to see two masked men attacking Weiming. He intervened and subdued the masked men, wanting to question them about the mastermind, but unexpectedly, the masked men committed suicide by taking poison.

Weiming was severely injured and, before he died, revealed the truth about Ge Yingxing's heroic death and relayed Ge Yingxing's parting message, "Zichuan is paramount," to Zichuan Xiu. Weiming didn't know who the real killer of Ge Yingxing was, but Zichuan Xiu guessed it. Besides Zichuan Canxing, no one else could make Ge Yingxing make such a choice. Zichuan Xiu considered for a long time and finally decided to pressure Zichuan Canxing into releasing Di Lin.

Zichuan Xiu hit on Zichuan Canxing's true thoughts, which made him very uncomfortable. Zichuan Xiu spoke Ge Yingxing's dying words, and from Zichuan Canxing's flustered eyes, Zichuan Xiu became even more certain of his judgment. Zichuan Xiu requested to return to Yuanzhou to lead troops and guard the border, inheriting Ge Yingxing's mantle.

Zichuan Canxing first tried to persuade him by mentioning his relationship with Zichuan Ning, then stated that his assignment would be decided by the Commandery of Mobilization, as a soldier's duty is absolute obedience. After Zichuan Xiu left, Zichuan Canxing sent a message to Luo Minghai, ordering the investigation into Di Lin to stop. The next day, Zichuan Canxing began rewarding the officials who contributed to quelling the rebellion.

Luo Minghai replaced Yang Minghua as the Commander-in-Chief of the Zichuan family. Si Te Lin was promoted to Commander of the Imperial Guard Army. Di Lin replaced Xiao Long and took charge of the Bureau of Discipline. The most unlucky was Zichuan Xiu, who was demoted to the garrison duty at Jianshan Pass. Bai Chuan and others began complaining about being demoted instead of promoted following Zichuan Xiu.

The three of them wanted to pool some money to help Zichuan Xiu find a way out, but their pockets were equally empty. Zichuan Ning was also surprised upon hearing this news. She didn't understand what her uncle was thinking. However, Zichuan Xiu's departure without saying goodbye angered her even more, so she simply went to find him.

Zichuan Xiu, knowing Zichuan Ning's feelings, deliberately evaded and pushed her away, which made Zichuan Ning very unhappy, but Zichuan Xiu's actions were for Zichuan Ning's sake. Zichuan Canxing asked Di Lin about suppressing the rebellion in Yuanzhou. Di Lin said the twenty-five rebel regiments in Yuanzhou were within a controllable range, but various tribes had become restless, and troops should be sent to apply pressure to prevent trouble.

Zichuan Canxing stated that this matter should still be under the jurisdiction of the Commandery of Mobilization and asked him to produce a proposal for the Commandery of Mobilization to decide. Di Lin understood the implied meaning. The Commandery of Mobilization ultimately decided to change the operational direction of Luo Bo and Lin Bing, who were pursuing Lei Hong, and ordered them to lead their troops to attack the beastmen and snake tribe rebels instead.

Di Lin was worried about the safety of the Yuanzhou army and sent a message through Si Te Lin to Zichuan Xiu, asking him to write to Luo Bo to prepare in advance. After consulting with his ministers, Zichuan Canxing ordered Si Te Lin to lead the Imperial Guard Army to Wayun first for rescue, while the Black Flag Army and Border Pacification Army would also send troops after their border defenses were settled.
