So they ignited the pre-arranged gasoline and drove Zichuan Xiu’s group away. Zichuan Xiu was overwhelmed with grief as he heard the explosion behind him. He tried to rush back but was forcibly taken away by Bai Chuan.

After returning, Zichuan Xiu set up memorial tablets for Qiluo and Gu Xi and blamed himself for his previous reckless actions that had implicated so many. Bai Chuan told him that as long as they were alive, Qiluo and Gu Xi’s deaths were not in vain. Everyone continued to support Zichuan Xiu. Suddenly, he proposed visiting the legendary Elder Budan at the temple.

Busen, the village chief of Blue Village, met Zichuan Xiu and thought he was just a sickly man, not worth paying attention to. However, Zichuan Xiu accurately observed that Busen’s left foot was heavier when walking, indicating an injury. If they fought, attacking the left foot would surely lead to victory. In the past, someone named Zichuan Yun also promised to lead them out of the Northern Clan’s grasp, only to bring oppression from Zichuan. Zichuan Xiu explained that it was Lei Hong’s personal actions, but Budan could not speak out for Zichuan nor convince others to trust him. Budan said ants could not trust bees—they could not bear another betrayal.

Even so, Zichuan Xiu said he himself had once been a traitor to Zichuan and hoped Budan would see him as one of the Yuanzhou people, fighting to protect Yuanzhou together. But Budan still refused to believe. With no other choice, Zichuan Xiu had to leave. Though Lei Hong was dead, his methods continued to hinder them. Despite this, everyone said they would continue even without Budan’s support.

Busen agreed to let Zichuan Xiu stay, but Zichuan Xiu had made his own plan to leave first. Ma Wei delivered a message to Zichuan Ning. Although Zichuan Xiu was the Grand Governor of the Northern Clan's Yuanzhou, the actual administrator was Lu Di. Zichuan Xiu had been missing for a long time. Zichuan Ning asked Ma Wei to continue sending people to search for Zichuan Xiu. This letter alone couldn’t prove his innocence, and Ma Wei agreed.

In private, Li Qing met with Ma Wei, worried that he would exploit Zichuan Ning’s longing for Zichuan Xiu to seek personal gain. She warned him, and only after receiving his assurance did she leave.
