Eternal Brotherhood Season 2 Episode 16 Recap
> Eternal Brotherhood Season 2 Recap
Lin Yunfei, an elder of the Lin family, appeared with people to rescue Liu Fengshuang. He had always loved her and was willing to risk life and death by her side. In the face of death, Liu Fengshuang was his most precious treasure. This was his seventy-ninth confession, but Liu Fengshuang only saw him as a sister. The Lu Di changed strategy and decided not to attack the King of Light but instead targeted Sun Shi.
Sun Shi was on the front line and had provisions to last only three days. Everyone was anxious and wanted to draw the enemy away with a feint. However, the Lu Di saw through the plan, confirming that attacking Sun Shi was the right decision. He wanted to wipe out all the nearby villages around Bulu Village to cut off any reinforcements.
Sun Shi was unhappy that the King of Light hadn’t shown up and kept sending them to the frontlines. While complaining, Zichuan Xiu returned and deliberately presented fake supplies, promising to personally deliver them and capture the Lu Di to avenge Sun Shi. Convinced, Sun Shi left, though in reality, the supplies hadn’t yet arrived—Zichuan Xiu only wanted to stabilize morale. Zichuan Xiu advised retreat and guessed that the Lu Di had been trying to locate their main force.
He planned to send false signals to mislead the enemy, making them think wherever the King of Light appeared was where the main force was. But the Lu Di suspected it was a ruse, thinking that area didn't look like the true stronghold. When he heard the troops were beating drums and moving about ostentatiously, he angrily ordered an all-out attack. Yet he also realized it might be a diversion, nearly falling into the trap.
Ultimately, however, the Lu Di was still led by the nose. Budan ambushed several of his units and captured many weapons, infuriating him further. Even the rations had been tricked from him, and Zichuan Xiu was preparing to give him another "gift." Soon, the Lu Di faced multiple setbacks—rations stolen, weapons looted, and soldiers ambushed. Some of his commanders were even beheaded. The Lu Di burst into furious tears, his hatred for the King of Light growing deeper.
By this point, Zichuan Xiu had secured both weapons and provisions and severely wounded the Lu Di’s forces, earning a brief moment of rest. Ma Wei custom-made a crossbow for Zichuan Ning for self-defense and offered to teach her how to use it. But Li Qing stepped in first, giving Ma Wei no chance.
After Ma Wei left, Zichuan Ning asked for the crossbow to be put away, saying she knew Li Qing truly cared for her, and that she wouldn't like anyone Li Qing disliked. Li Qing felt comforted. Zichuan Xiu shared his battle philosophy with his men—since the power gap with the Lu Di was too large, direct confrontation was unwise, and ambushes were the only option.
The troops enthusiastically discussed it, but suddenly noticed Zichuan Xiu had gone silent—he had fallen asleep. They all shouted “King of Light!” loudly to scare him awake and resume the discussion. From that day on, Zichuan Xiu began teaching different subjects to the various tribal leaders. His men shared their specialized skills with others—some studied military strategy, others finance. Zichuan Xiu told them his secret to victory was simple: if you can’t win, run. Old Delun found this surprisingly reasonable.
Having eavesdropped on Bai Chuan’s lectures, Zichuan Xiu knew two people had diarrhea and eczema and specially prepared medicine for them, which made them even more grateful to the King of Light. In front of Bai Chuan, Zichuan Xiu proudly boasted of being the best leader. Liu Fengming harbored many resentments toward his father. He recalled being harshly punished and denied food for mistakes in childhood, which cast a shadow over his youth. He believed his father didn’t love him.
But Liu Fengsen thought their father had high expectations. Enraged, Liu Fengming slashed Liu Fengsen. At this moment, Liu Fengshuang led the troops borrowed from the Lin family and swaggered into the city, determined to let everyone know she had returned. Upon hearing this, Liu Fengming panicked and ordered everyone to capture her. Liu Fengshuang guessed that Liu Fengming wouldn’t dare kill their father, but might be imprisoning him for revenge over his childhood punishment. She went to search alone.
Liu Fengming hid behind a chair. When Liu Fengshuang called out “Brother,” he, as always since childhood, couldn’t resist coming out. She didn’t kill him but locked him up. Seeing Liu Fengsen wounded, she felt deep heartache. Their father believed Liu Fengming’s actions were the consequence of his own parenting and didn’t kill him. He asked Liu Fengshuang to escort him home and said they would never see each other again in this life. After settling matters at home, Liu Fengshuang asked Lin Yunfei to return and expressed her gratitude.
