Eternal Brotherhood Season 2 Episode 13 Recap
> Eternal Brotherhood Season 2 Recap
Old Delun excitedly came to see the Light King. More and more soldiers were arriving from afar after hearing his fame. Although it was a good thing, the food supplies became insufficient. Bai Chuan urged the Light King to come up with a solution, but the Light King simply lay in the chair, mumbling without saying anything. Just as Bai Chuan was about to lose her temper, Zichuan Xiu walked in.
He had been having Li Nong impersonate him as the Light King. To raise food supplies, Zichuan Xiu planned to go to the imperial capital and have Li Nong continue the impersonation to deter the Lu Di.
In the council hall of the imperial capital, the commander of the Directorate of Political Affairs, Ge Shan, was dissatisfied that Di Lin’s long leave had delayed matters of the Ministry of Military and Legal Affairs, causing a backlog of cases for a month. Luo Minghai immediately proposed to take on the role of commander of the Military Inspection Unit to get things moving. Si Yilin objected but couldn’t provide a specific date for Di Lin’s return.
Zichuan Canxing ordered Luo Minghai to take over the unit. However, things didn’t go smoothly. The members of the Military Inspection Unit only recognized Di Lin and refused to accept new leadership. Si Yilin went to find Di Lin and talked about Luo Minghai's current actions, hoping Di Lin would step forward instead of enduring constant criticism.
Lin Xiujia, unwilling to have Di Lin blamed due to her illness, deliberately sent him to buy sour plums while she busied herself at the shop, forcing herself to act energetic. Di Lin understood and hoped his wife wouldn't push herself too hard for his sake. Lin Xiujia didn’t want Di Lin to face everything alone. Their deep love for each other made others envious. Di Lin officially resumed his post at the Ministry of Military and Legal Affairs.
Luo Minghai went to Zichuan Canxing to complain, saying that now the entire ministry only followed Di Lin. Zichuan Canxing took Luo Minghai to watch Di Lin training the troops. An arrow shot through the target and headed toward Zichuan Canxing. Luo Minghai tried to stir conflict and urged punishment, but Zichuan Canxing felt Di Lin's training achievements were commendable. Despite his long break, morale had not dropped, which was rare.
Di Lin offered to be punished, but Zichuan Canxing only docked some of his salary and praised both Luo Minghai and Di Lin as pillars of the imperial capital. Di Lin was aware of Luo Minghai’s actions but wasn't angry, nor did he plan to retaliate. In Di Lin’s eyes, Luo Minghai wasn’t a villain, just not good at leading troops—more suited for assistance roles. A subordinate reported that a Light King had appeared in Yuanzhou a month ago.
Di Lin instructed them to keep monitoring the situation. Li Qing brought study materials to Zichuan Ning, saying she would return in a month for an assessment and mentioned preparing for her wedding. Zichuan Ning suddenly realized everyone was growing up. She privately sought out Si Yilin, feeling that marrying Li Qing would hurt both of them. Si Yilin admitted his greatest love was always Ka Dan, whom he could no longer see.
Some things were beyond his control, including his involvement with Li Qing. Zichuan Ning insisted on doing only what she wanted and wouldn't be forced to marry someone she didn’t love. Si Yilin envied her, but he also knew that her questioning today was partly for Ka Dan and partly for Zichuan Xiu. He revealed that Zichuan Xiu actually liked her very much but didn’t feel strong enough to protect her. Everyone had their mission and couldn’t escape it.
Zichuan Ning was touched by his words. That night, Zichuan Xiu took shelter from the rain at a temple and encountered Liu Fengshuang being hunted by the Black Tiger Gang. Despite being outnumbered, Liu Fengshuang's superior martial skills gave her the upper hand. When someone tried to use a hidden weapon, Zichuan Xiu couldn’t bear to watch and stepped in to drive them off, saving Liu Fengshuang. She didn’t trust him, drew her sword, and asked who he was.
Before Zichuan Xiu could answer, Liu Fengshuang fainted from severe injuries. Zichuan Xiu tried to apply medicine to Liu Fengshuang, expecting her to resist out of modesty, but she confidently removed her outer garment and allowed him to bandage her. Her clothes were soaked, and without hesitation, she took Zichuan Xiu’s clothes to wear, leaving him no choice but to remain in his wet clothes.
Liu Fengshuang called Zichuan Xiu “uncle,” which he found unacceptable, thinking she should at least call him “big brother. ” When asked his name, he lied and said he was Zhang A San. Liu Fengshuang developed a fever from the infected wounds. After Zichuan Xiu gave her medicine, she clung to him for warmth, afraid the cold would kill her.
The next morning, Liu Fengshuang woke to find herself leaning on Zichuan Xiu’s shoulder and assumed he had taken advantage of her, slapping him in the face. Zichuan Xiu reminded her about the fever. Realizing her mistake, she apologized but continued to hide her true identity, claiming her name was Lin Yu. Zichuan Xiu could tell the name was fake, and Liu Fengshuang also knew his was too, but neither would tell the truth.
Liu Fengshuang gave Zichuan Xiu a jade pendant as payment, and he accepted it without hesitation. Liu Fengshuang gave Zichuan Xiu a piece of flatbread. He teased her for eating messily, and she mocked him for being sloppy. Zichuan Xiu hurried to strike a handsome pose, explaining that he was usually neat but had just gotten drenched in the rain. At that moment, they heard footsteps outside.
