Jiang Kaiyang invited Qin Gang to his home and falsely claimed that Xu Chunli would take care of Qin Gang's child from then on, allowing Qin Gang and his mother to visit anytime. Qin Gang was delighted by this news. Jiang Kaiyang then subtly brought up his desire to work at Qin Gang's company, explaining that he had voluntarily stepped down from his previous role due to restructuring and was not accustomed to idleness.
He expressed his interest in the automotive industry and his wish to learn and contribute his experience. Qin Gang readily agreed to consider his request. The next day, Qin Gang arranged for Jiang Kaiyang to become the Deputy Manager of the Sales Department at his company, offering him compensation equivalent to that of a General Manager. Jiang Kaiyang was pleasantly surprised by the offer, though Qin Gang explained the title was a starting point to familiarize him with the business.
Qin Gang then expressed his concern about explaining his divorce to his mother, fearing she would blame him. Later, as Xu Ke had sold his house, Hua Ming prepared to move out of his apartment so Wan Xinxin and her child could live there. Jiang Kaiyang and Xu Chunli then headed upstairs, leaving Hua Ming looking dejected. Upon her return, Qin Gang's mother anxiously searched for Wan Xinxin and her grandson. Qin Gang reluctantly confessed that he and Wan Xinxin had divorced, and he falsely claimed that Wan Xinxin had cheated on him. Unconvinced, Qin Gang's mother went to Lady Company, where Wan Xinxin worked, to confront her. After receiving a call from Shi Lei, the company head, Wan Xinxin rushed back to the office, only to be shocked by the presence of Qin Gang's mother.
Qin Gang's mother directly accused Wan Xinxin of infidelity. Seeing Qin Gang's betrayal, Wan Xinxin refused to defend herself, stating that further explanations were pointless now that they were divorced. Qin Gang's mother, believing her son's account and witnessing Wan Xinxin's difficult circumstances, declared that Wan Xinxin was unfit to raise her grandson and demanded to take the child. Wan Xinxin vehemently refused to give up her child but agreed to let Qin Gang's mother see him.
Wan Xinxin then took Qin Gang's mother to Hua Ming's apartment. To her surprise, Hua Ming was there instead of Xu Chunli, who had an emergency. Qin Gang's mother immediately surmised the situation, and Wan Xinxin was at a loss for words. Hua Ming attempted to defuse the tension with humor, but Qin Gang's mother dismissed his efforts. She bluntly told Wan Xinxin that the environment was inadequate for her grandson and reiterated her demand to take the child, stating that if Wan Xinxin truly loved him, she would give him everything, which Qin Gang's mother could provide. Wan Xinxin firmly restated that her child needed his mother, not just material comforts.
