Beautiful Time With You Episode 29 Recap
> Beautiful Time With You Recap
Following an investigation, the school announced over the broadcast system that Zhang Haotian from Class 3, Year 3, had been wrongfully accused of cheating. The school officially revoked his punishment and issued a sincere apology for their oversight. The real culprit, Zhang Xinran from Class 5, Year 3, received a severe warning for her actions and for concealing the truth.
Zhang Haotian's friends were overjoyed by the news, and Lin Xingchen immediately tried to contact him after school, but he remained unreachable, neither answering calls nor replying to QQ messages. Meanwhile, at home, Zhang Haotian looked at the messages from his friends, then reviewed racing driver recruitment materials he had, and decided to apply by submitting his information online.
During an English lesson, Lin Xingchen passed a note to Lu Yibai, asking him to join her after school to find Zhang Haotian. Though Lu Yibai showed no outward reaction, he met her after class, and they headed to Zhang Haotian's cousin's repair shop, where Zhang Haotian also worked. Lin Xingchen excitedly informed him that the class monitor had helped clear his name, urging him to return to school.
However, Zhang Haotian was firm in his decision not to return, stating he no longer wanted to study, and politely dismissed them. Lin Xingchen, unwilling to give up, was about to press further, but Lu Yibai noticed racing club advertisements on Zhang Haotian's desk. Without a word, he pulled Lin Xingchen away. On Saturday, Lin Xingchen found Zhang Haotian and pulled him to the school track, proposing a running race. The rule was simple: whoever stopped first would lose.
If she won, Zhang Haotian had to agree to return to school and prepare for the college entrance exam with everyone else. Zhang Haotian initially resisted, calling her "adorably silly" for suggesting such a race in the heat, and explained that he had his own reasons for not returning—he wanted to join a racing team. Lin Xingchen countered that joining a racing team could wait, but the college entrance exam was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
As they ran, Zhang Haotian, whose stamina wasn't his strong suit, quickly gave up after a few laps, conceding the race and promising to return to school. Lin Xingchen, thrilled by his agreement, told him she, Lu Yibai, and Luo Qinge had plans to study at the library that day and cheerfully promised him a drink on Monday.
As Zhang Haotian left the school, he encountered Lu Yibai, who had been sitting by the track watching Lin Xingchen before waiting for Zhang Haotian at the parking lot. Lu Yibai candidly expressed that he once considered Zhang Haotian a worthy opponent but now felt he had overestimated him due to his quick surrender.
Zhang Haotian retorted, speculating that Lin Xingchen's feelings might not last forever, that life was long, and one shouldn't only look at what they have in front of them. Lu Yibai countered sharply, asking how Zhang Haotian expected to compete with him if he was about to lose at the starting line of university. On Monday, Zhang Haotian kept his promise and returned to school. However, their reunion was short-lived.
The class teacher announced an important school decision: all senior students would be reassigned into A, B, C, and D classes based on their academic performance, for targeted tutoring during the final three months before the college entrance exam. To facilitate this "special exam preparation group," weekends were canceled, and evening self-study was extended until 9 PM. The students expressed their concern, feeling like "guinea pigs" in this "first attempt" by the school's educational experts.
The new class roster was soon posted. Lu Yibai was placed in Class A, while Lin Xingchen, Luo Qinge, and Chen Yimu were all assigned to Class D. Luo Qinge had already taken an art exam after receiving tutoring from a special art exam tutor arranged by her father and performed well. Chen Yimu, with his basketball skills, expected to enter a sports university after completing the provincial league.
Lin Xingchen, following Lu Yibai's advice, had also decided to pursue the art exam, aiming for a Drama and Film Literature major, which had lower admission score requirements due to her good essay writing. Class A, composed of elite students, maintained excellent classroom discipline. In stark contrast, Class D was chaotic, with students often unfocused.
Their math teacher became visibly frustrated, scolding the entire class for their lack of engagement and poor performance, particularly with the college entrance exam fast approaching, nearly spitting blood from anger. Despite the challenging environment, this incident further intensified Lin Xingchen and Luo Qinge's determination to study. Lin Xingchen stayed late in the classroom, correcting her mistakes, and continued studying diligently at home without slacking off.
Lu Yibai supported her, sending messages assuring her that he was available 24/7 for any questions. He even brought her many snacks during break, calling it an "extra meal" and encouraging her to study hard. Other students looked on with envy, and Lin Xingchen felt greatly encouraged. After another round of exams, a new class placement notice was released. Lin Xingchen was still in Class D, which left her feeling disheartened despite her efforts.
As she and her friends walked to the track, they saw the Director of Academic Affairs disciplining students who were late or hadn't submitted homework. Among them was a female student, Zhang Tong, who suddenly collapsed from heatstroke after running several laps. The Director immediately rushed her to the infirmary. Later, Zhang Tong's mother arrived at the school, angrily demanding an explanation from Principal Zhou, accusing the school of her daughter collapsing due to running laps.
However, Zhang Tong herself, having recovered, came out and explained that she had violated school rules first, which led to the punishment. The Director took full responsibility, apologizing for not considering Zhang Tong's physical condition. Soon after, news circulated that the Director had taken sick leave for hospitalization and submitted a letter of resignation to the school. Lu Yibai called Lin Xingchen after reviewing the test paper she had photographed and sent him.
He pointed out that many of her mistakes were due to carelessness and that the mock exam had contained numerous "trap questions," making it normal not to score perfectly. He encouraged her not to lose heart and to keep working hard for the next exam. Lin Xingchen assured him she would definitely do her best.
