Lin Xingchen, feeling distraught, approached Lu Yibai to confess that she had lost the meal tickets. However, Lu Yibai had already anticipated this. He had deliberately placed two meal tickets, which he had received from his father, on the ground for her to find. Mistakenly believing these were her own lost tickets, Lin Xingchen was overjoyed. She later excitedly called Luo Qinge about her preparations for the next day's meal, briefly misplacing and then happily rediscovering her "found" tickets.
That weekend, the two headed to a lavish five-star buffet restaurant. Lin Xingchen was overwhelmed by the luxurious setting. Upon hearing that lobster was limited, she enthusiastically rushed to get some, only to return disappointed, finding mostly empty shells. Seeing her disheartened, Lu Yibai secretly went and purchased an extra lobster for her. When he presented it, Lin Xingchen was surprised and delighted, believing he had somehow managed to secure it amidst the rush. She insisted they share it equally.
The midterm exam results were subsequently announced. Lu Yibai, as expected, maintained his first-place position.
